TSA Says Passengers Only Have
Themselves to Blame For Long Lines

In a new statement, the TSA placed blame on passengers, claiming that individuals are at fault for showing up to checkpoints unprepared. “Individuals who come to the TSA checkpoint unprepared for a trip can have a negative impact on the time it takes to complete the screening process,” the agency said in a press release, which also included travel tips to help cut down on delays. The release also blamed the uptick in wait times on shrinking staff and a rise in travelers. Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, for instance, has seen an 8 percent rise in travelers since the start of

In some cases yes. But forcing people to partially undress, get X-Rayed, and juggle all their personal effects after standing in hours-long lines tends to rattle a person.

Such an arrogant ass-h*** response. But, typical of an bureucracy grown so large and so useless it is out of control. Congress really needs to snuff out this bloated government jobs cancer now!

It couldn´t have anything to do with incompetent management, a public employee union, or a desultory and undisciplined staff. It can only be the fault of the traveling public.

I am somewhat sympathetic. I used to commute to work on Southwest and noticed that while regular travellers zipped through, those who travel only once and a while did not prepare ahead of time. For instance you can take off your shoes while waiting in line, get you laptop out of its bag, etc.

It reminds me of those people in the grocery line who only start looking for money until after the total has appeared, as if they though maybe things would be free. They can spend more time looking for credit cards and cash (counting out pennies from a change purse) than it takes to ring up the charges. There are people behind you so get prepared.

Ever read the TSA blog? Blaming the civilians is entirely typical -- "yeah, the six month old child in a wheelchair was a clear and present danger, so we had to do a cavity search, but hey, we followed our procedures." Isaac Asimov said "violence is the last refuge of the incompetent," but procedures are the first.

Donald Trump may be an azz hole´s azz hole but he never is tempted to forget WHO is working for WHOM !!!!

Go Donald !

....and take ALL the government unions with you. It´s worth noting that "Unions" were built on the idea that evil, nasty, greedy capitalists need a counter-balance in labor relations. Government unions are either an admission that government is evil or they are an admission that the whole thing is fixed and it´s a scam to rip off the taxpayer.
Turns out......both are true.

No More !

I guarantee that if security was left up to the airlines it would go faster, smoother, with less idiocy (like frisking old ladies or doing cavity searches on little children) and do a better job of actually making flights secure than the gubmint run clown show foisted on us by clueless politicians and bureaucrats.

People may not be prepared, but perhaps it´s because they´re not informed. Shouldn´t they have someone working the lines telling them how to get ready? I mean they´re just standing there for a couple hours not knowing what to expect. (Not everyone is a frequent flier.) GO TALK TO THEM!! But hey - maybe they´re taking advise from the same guy who suggested long gov´t waiting lines are just like Disney!!

Don´t forget, it was George W. Bush who -- wrongly -- inflicted TSA on a shocked nation. For that alone, I rate him TWANLOC.
And it was a truly awful President, John F. Kennedy (spit) who -- wrongly -- removed prohibitions against unionization of federal employees, leading in no small measure to the horrid messes we see all across the nation. JFK also merits TWANLOC status.

The TSA mess stinks. One "benefit" of my current situation is that I no longer have to travel by air. Accounts such as this are making me to:
a) consider shipping luggage in advance except bare minimum carry-on (meds and spare underwear and laptop) ahead via UPS or FedEx and avoid that mess.
b) Greyhound. Used Greyhound lots when a starving college student. (avoid the bus companies that -- seemingly without hindrance -- are dedicated to conveying newly arrived ILLEGAL ALIENS). Cheaper than Amtrak or airfare and generally no interference from junior-grade Stasi types.

I agree that people are somewhat to blame, but changes to TSA rules change more than the wind direction. Ever watch the TSA employees while standing in line? They´re nothing more than bored McDonald employees. Someone on here also mentioned the bag fees charged by the airlines as a reason for the backup. Anyone who has traveled within the last ten years has seen large suitcases brought on as carry on. Scanning these things takes time. Finally, profiling people would help as well. I´ll never forget standing in line at San Francisco airport, while three TSA agents damn near stripped searched an old man who was in a wheelchair. I was so PO´d by this, I almost started yelling at these clowns. Searching old men and ladies isn´t doing a thing to increase security, it´s just a waste of time.

Yes, poster #14, Searching old men and ladies isn´t doing a thing to increase security, it´s just a waste of time.

But, as long as they search Caucasians then they aren´t "profiling" Muslim males between 18 and 40...the group most likely to carry out a terror attack.

"Profiling" used to be a good thing, the FBI profiles criminals, but heaven forbid, ´we´ (our government) can´t possibly target those most likely to commit a crime.

It is time to arrest, try, and jail, if not execute, some of our government officials. It isn´t hard to see how the French Reign of Terror came to pass after the complete abandonment of the common man by their betters. We have arrive at that point.

Firing a corrupt, incompetent bureaucrat is virtually impossible. There is no recourse to making these criminals go away, period. So many people want to blame the politicians, but it is the absolutely corrupt American government bureaucracy that is strangling the soul of America. It is past time for a house cleaning. Reform is a five letter word for more of the same.

First to go: IRS, TSA, EPA.

I travel a lot for my business and I hate TSA as much as anyone, but part of the blame lies with the airlines. If they would eliminate the checked baggage fee then passengers wouldn´t be trying to cram everything they need into a small bag and then drag it into the cabin. All those carry-on wheelers double the boarding and deboarding times and also make the security lines much slower.

My business has taken me to Australia and New Zealand and their airlines have no checked baggage fees. Passengers get on the plane with a purse or a briefcase or a tote bag and that´s about it. Very fast getting on and off. They also feed you a full meal on domestic flights!

Not so sure this whole mess was caused by the Unions to get more employees. My three Children, and their spouses, flew in for a quick visit with their mommy, from Chicago Midway to Orlando on Friday. They waited in the Security line exactly 15 minutes! They flew out of Orlando today, waiting 10 minutes in the security line. They went two hours early, as instructed, expecting LOOONG lines and nothing! Holiday weekend! Go figure!

Right.
The public is responsible for the long lines.
If the public would not fly, there would be no long lines.
If airlines would not buy airplanes, there would be no long lines.
If the TSA were competent, there would be no long lines.
If the TSA were dissolved, there would be no long lines.

Blame shifting. We expect nothing less from the obama regime. In fact, the TSA´s very existence achieves their objectives: more power, yet more gooberment jobs, union jobs, arbitrary control over our lives, and some plum patronage positions. All with the lack of accountability that comes with any gooberment endeavor. The traveling public can just go to Hell, and has, regularly at our nation´s airports.
I´d like to hear about travelers´ experiences at the few significant non-TSA airports like San Francisco and Kansas City. Albeit I understand even those airports are on a short, stultifying TSA oversight leash.

The 70-year-old comedian told GQ magazine in its upcoming June issue that while he has “no reason” to regret hosting Mr. Trump multiple times on “Late Night,” he is very “disappointed” that his former guest is now representing the country. “It makes me sick,” Mr. Letterman said. “But we always looked forward to having him on. He was a great guest. He was just a big, wealthy dope who’d come on and we would make fun of

Talk to anyone who has tried to run a business and ask them how hard it is. I can speak from experience when I tell you that it isn´t easy. Long hours, sleepless nights, and concerns you never even thought about as an employee are the norm. Add in the fact that you get paid last, which can mean some very lean times, and the challenges of owning a business become rather obvious. Now, you may also have to consider the idea that Social Justice Warriors think you have the wrong DNA for your line of work, because they´re horrible.

Melania Trump proved herself to be just as unpredictable as her famous husband on Wednesday afternoon, with the First Lady photographed holding President Trump´s hand twice in public. The infrequently affectionate couple was taking a tour of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City when a photographer managed to get a picture of the two staring up at Michelangelo´s famed painted ceiling while holdings hands. The President and First Lady were then back at it again moments later when it was time for the family photo, in which the two stood next to Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner for a picture

After a two decade run, is the end of Sean Hannity’s Fox News Channel program near? Based on unusually strong hints from the host himself, the answer appears to be yes. Under internal pressure over his pursuit of the truth behind the Seth Rich story, network suits are apparently closing in on one of the network’s remaining conservative holdouts.

The brother of slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich wrote a letter on Tuesday to the executive producer of Sean Hannity´s Fox News show pleading with him to find "decency and kindness" in his heart and stop spreading an unproven conspiracy theory about the unsolved murder. "Think about how you would feel losing a son or brother. And while dealing with this, you had baseless accusations of your lost family member being part of a vast conspiracy," Aaron Rich wrote in the letter to "Hannity" executive producer Porter Berry, a copy of which was provided to CNN. "As the family, we

President Donald Trump asked two of the nation’s top intelligence officials in March to help him push back against an FBI investigation into possible coordination between his campaign and the Russian government, according to current and former officials.Trump made separate appeals to the director of national intelligence, Daniel Coats, and to Adm. Michael Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency, urging them to publicly deny the existence of any evidence of collusion during the 2016 election. Coats and Rogers refused to comply with the requests, which they both deemed to be inappropriate, according to two current and two former officials,
