Too Cool to Care: Could Obama´s
Privileged and Pot-filled Adolescence
Explain his Presidential Lassitude?

American Thinker, by James W. Lucas

Original Article

Barack Obama stands apart from other modern American Presidents in many ways. (snip)the widespread view that he is the coolest President ever. This supernal coolness is not new. In his autobiography, Dreams From My Father, the President wrote that in his teenage years “I tried my best to be cool at all times” (p. 82). However, leaving aside the contradiction inherent in trying to be cool, it is possible that Barack Obama’s teenage experiences may have left him psychologically, and perhaps even neurologically, incapable of performing fundamental tasks of his current position. Much of the appeal of coolness is its

FTA: Yet everything is not working out perfectly for our President.

I disagree. Obama is achieving exactly what he set out to do: (in no particular order) create chaos; promote racial tensions; wreck economy; nationalize healthcare. Did I forget anything?

When you consider his goals, he was the perfect person for the job. Whatever he is doing -- golfing, vacationing, fund-raising -- his agenda is being carried out by like-minded people.

It´s not just his adolescence that is pot-filled, or coke-filled if you watch his current behavior, his halting speech and his dead eyes. His brain is usually not engaged to his mouth these days but that could be a good thing.

You did not mention his Communist alcoholic mentor Frank Marshall Davis who was his grandfather´s friend. Frank introduced him to Communism and taught him well. Frank was from Chicago and had many connections there. Also, you called Hillary a lady. She is not a lady. Other than those two slips, this is a great article.

The article is correct without changing the theory that he intends and welcomes the destruction he is causing. It is much easier to destroy than to build up and Obama can manage the destruction without concentrating or working at it just by blindly applying his ideology. I cannot think of a single case where he has learned that his ideology does not work. There is little or no prospect of that ever happening.

Absolutely right #1. Obama´s agenda is being carried out by like minded people and they are committed to his agenda just as much, if not more, than he is. They would run roughshod over Biden too. He would be managed. Washington is filled with Obama ideologues, and it is going to take a gargantuan effort pry them from the halls of government. Just think Lois Lerner times thousands. We must restore integrity to government. It is time to stop the inmates from running the asylum.

I don´t believe it was the pot that is the problem today. It is Obama´s willingness to believe the Marxist ideology that skewed his thinking. He identified with it. He embraced it. He is living it. Being brainwashed from the cradle is effective. Obama is not a curious person. He went with the radical agenda because was easy and it spoke to him. He is a walking cliché full of radical ideas, always angry and needing to get even. Ever the victim but always feeling he is entitled to whatever his heart desires.

Most of us think that adolescence never ended.

Did anyone read the accounts of his attending Harvard Law Review meetings and just sitting there, supposedly soaking it all up, but never asking a question and never contributing anything? Have we forgotten his almost always voting "Present" in the Illinois state senate? And the fact that his patron in that senate took bills that had been slaved over by others and handed them to Obie at the very last minute so that their passage would be credited to him? And "Present" continued in the U. S. Senate.

He is a lazy bugger. He is a disciple of Saul Alinsky. The community organizer MO guides him. But even Saul Alinsky was said to have had no plan for governing, for running anything, once he had that power. For running what he had disrupted so totally with his "revolution". These guys wreak havoc. Chaos. But haven´t the foggiest notion how a country like the United States should operate. This is not the USSR.

Ivory tower ideologues should not be running countries.

This is chicken egg. Which came first? Obama´s aberrant behavior - narcissist, sociopath, etc - or his drug use which heightened it?

Frankly, who cares? BHO is a disaster and his beliefs, values and mission has damaged America both domestically and internationally.

The big question is what leader can step in and turn this around?

Remember too, even if BHO willingly vacates the WH, all of his cockroaches are still embedded in Wash DC.

The ONLY solution is to fire everyone associated with the Federal Government and then rehire new employees based on qualifications.

This will never happen. So we are going to be dealing with these vermin for a long time. This battle is far from over.

...his inattention to details of governing; his disengagement from the political process and from the public; [emphasis mine]

When an employe or an elected official distances himself or herself from his job requirements, he is considered incompetent or ineffective, and is usually fired.

He is dangerously ineffective where it matters -- keeping America safe at home and abroad, keeping our economy perking along and our workers working, making things better for all Americans. He should be fired for not doing what he was hired to do.

The Economist reports that “he seems bored by the daily tasks of governing and reluctant to question those who work for him.”

No. He isn´t "bored". He is lazy. Let that "too smart to be challenged by the job" excuse be forever relegated to the same place where resides "If you like your doctor" and "Al Queda is on the run" and "I don´t have a strategy", bloopers for the ages.

But, once you get beyond areas where gratification is near at hand, Barack Obama starts to flag, as noted by the many observers quoted above and numerous others.

...which means that even his short-term ability to focus applies only to himself, not to others. If the focus shifts to other people, especially strong ones, he isn´t interested.

A clinician would not want to make a definitive diagnosis without a neurological work-up and more firsthand information on the quantity and potency of the President’s pot.

One doesn´t need a "neurological workup" and more "first-hand information" to see that Obama is damaged. All the things which bring him pleasure are short-term instant gratification events where he is the center of adulation, whether from his daughters, his Staff, the media, or uninformed cheering crowds.

He cannot do that which is "other-directed". It´s all about him and that makes him dangerous.

One would think that the more intelligent Democrats (there are intelligent Democrats, just misguided) would start doubting themselves and their ability to judge people. They should be questioning themselves why they were so wrong and how they could be so fooled. It has to be a bitter pill for them to have their chosen leader an utter failure both home and abroad.

Next time they should just sit home and let clear-thinking and discerning Republicans choose our President!

Everything about hims is hidden or invented. He is an employee of the US Citizens, something he is not aware of. As an employee of a company this drug user would long have been fired. But no, the dumbest amongst us gave this amateur a second term, just to make sure that the entire world, just in case they missed it, can witness what a fool occasionally passes through the Oval Office!

Not one of them looked into his background and all were shocked when I pointed out that he was a coke head. They´re pretty quiet these days except for one who still has the 2008 Obama/Biden sticker on her car.

I have to wonder what will become of BO after the presidency. He has become addicted to the adulation and power. Neither side of the political isle is going to be interested in him after 2016, even the liberals are going to find him toxic. If Republicans get in charge and the economy recovers and other problems that he couldn´t seem to get fixed get dealt with, his incompetence will be amplified.

Will he disappear into a cloud of smoke, too cool to exist in the mundane world anymore?

To understand Obama (and most politicians), one must understand narcissism. These people never mature beyond their teenage years. The world revolves around them. They crave narcissistic feed. This is usually attention, power or money. They have no empathy.

Politics is a natural place for such individuals. Most politicians are narcissists or psychopaths. Even city council members or condo association members.

I suspect he still uses, sometimes heavily. Remember the thwarted hijacking while Barry was on vacation in Hawaii several years ago? The media waited hours for him to come out and make an official statement. No explanation for the wait was offered. Were his aides scrambling behind the scenes because he was too high to go before the cameras?

I didn´t need some extensive article to tell me what I already observed and knew.
Obama is a low IQ idiot pot head surrounded with a cabal of misfits like himself. There are no political experts advising the lazy self centered creepy dude. This nation is adrift and we are on our own while Washington is awash with thieves and thugs.
I, for one, does not believe he is smart and a great speaker. Obama´s drone and whistling delivery is annoying and he can read better than the average Chicago street thug. It ends right there.
The people of the United States were duped and when the truth is known years from now we will become mad and embarrassed for what others had done by electing him twice. I didn´t do it, I can assure you, because I knew he was a low IQ fraud in 2007.

Taken all together, this article paints a horrific portrait of our own Dorian Gray. If only we could lock him in the attic.

Years ago, I did intake for a facility for the homeless mentally ill. I had twenty minutes to come up with a diagnosis and an admit/no admit decision. Part of the intake was taking a drug usage history. I learned that just listening to the patient and thinking "what age does this person sound like?" would tell me when drug use started. Did the person sound like a fourteen year old? Bingo! He started using at fourteen. I´m guessing we have someone arrested at early adolescence in the WH.

# 26 The explanation for Barry being unaware that a US jet was attacked by a terrorist ..for at least 3 hours... would be hilarious , if not so bizarre and troubling.
First the official White House response via Politico .
" White House spokesman Bill Burton said Friday , that Obama
on vacation in Hawaii, was informed of the incident three hours after the plane landed .
Obama then held a conference call with Homeland Security and counter-terror adviser John Brennan and NSC chief of staff Dennis McDonough. Burton said that in a subsequent call, Obama " instructed that all appropriate measures be taken to increase security for air travel."

Obama was not informed or couldn´t be found or roused for 3 hours after Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to blow up Northwest Airlines flight 253 on approach to Detroit with 300 souls on board.
When " informed " Barry did not immediately order increased security measures. It took subsequent phone calls for Barry to figure that out.
Here´s the official NYT explanation for this grotesque lapse in national security .
January 4, 2010 " Obama´s War Over Terror " by Peter Baker
( I promise I am not making this up ) 73 paragraphs in Baker gives this explanation for the CINC not knowing about a domestic terror attack...for hours.
" Obama was singing Christmas carols with his family at a rented house in Hawaii when a military aide arrived to tell him that someone tried to blow up a plane over Detroit ".
In Dreams from My Father Barry admitted on page 120 that he was still " getting high " as an adult , so the drug use continued past his teen years.
No one knows if Barry has ever stopped doing drugs because the media refuses to ask, too busy spinning fairy tales about Obama singing Christmas carols while Muslim terrorists attack us.

It is impossible to know exactly what is going on in North Korea, but something big has happened. The third generation Kim dynasty heir, Kim Jong-un, has been missing from public sight for a month, and may be ill, dead, or overthrown. There is much speculation, and contradictory reports are circulating, including the assertion that Pyongyang is sealed off, and no one is being permitted to enter or leave. But one fact is clear and it is dramatic. CNN reports: With Kim Jong Un out of sight for a month, a covey of North Korea´s high officials popped down to South

Megyn Kelly interviewed Jan Psaki on Thursday (video below). Let me cut to the chase and ask that must be pondered: What is wrong with Jan Psaki? I’m serious. She looks like someone is feeding her cues through a tiny earpiece telling her: Keep smiling. Make sure you grin. Smile broadly. And she does this in the face of Kelly discussing grave matters and posing serious questions. (Psaki does this all the time during press briefings, as well.) Does she think she can charm or flirt her way out of interactions? Is she mentally ill? Is she on drugs? Or is this just smug, childish

Government beneficence is mostly a myth based on the following assumptions: It is necessary. It is good. It makes outcomes better than they otherwise would be. Point number one, the necessity of government, is true up to a point. (snip) The second two conditions, at least given what our government does today, are increasingly disputed by those who look at government objectively. If these latter two become widely accepted as untrue, then the role of government will be reduced dramatically. Government will do anything it can to prevent its reduction. It is this risk which leads to government desperation. It

Sandra Fluke will have no cakewalk

Has Henry Waxman joined the much-touted “war on women”? Sandra Fluke is the symbol of that war, establishing the principle that not giving her whatever she wants for her personal life amounts to a war on women. (snip)Sandra set her heart on political office, and initially announced her intent to run for the seat in Congress from which Henry Waxman will be retiring at the end of the current term. Evidently, this was not received with enthusiasm, so a day later she set her sights a bit lower: After considering a run for a Congressional seat in California, women´s rights activist

President Obama’s 60 Minutes interview, taped last Friday and aired Sunday, is turning out to be a disaster for him, and may even be a tipping point of sorts. There are six dimensions to the disaster. 1. By blaming the intelligence community for his failure to act on the ISIS threat, he ensured that a series of damaging leaks will be coming, and they are already starting. (snip) 5. National security is a gut-level issue, and Obama is forming an image of someone unable to muster the level of concern or leadership necessary to protect us. The startling images of

ISIS may have called on Muslims the world over to attack Americans (and the “filthy French”), but when two Muslims in Oklahoma act on that call using beheading (or the threat thereof) as their method, The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City’s daily newspaper, calls it a “bizarre coincidence.” Nolan Clay writes: In a bizarre coincidence, a fired Oklahoma City nursing home employee was arrested Friday after a co-worker reported he threatened to cut her head off. (snip)The woman said she asked him why they kill Christians and he replied, “This is just what we do,” the detective reported. “This is just what we do”

The recent student demonstrations in Colorado against curriculum changes that present a more positive view of America don’t bother me at all. Dollars to donuts they were organized by the teachers. (snip) when you remove the coercion, the dependence upon a teacher for a grade, a letter of recommendation for college entrance, help with getting the classes one wants, and of course, a really big one, the teacher or professor being able to ridicule a student’s beliefs in front of classmates, you often get a star. Much like the young high school coed I watched skewer an unctuous college professor

In setting out to write my book “You Lie!” my initial goal was to chronicle Barack Obama’s major deceptions. In doing so, alas, I ended up writing the history of the presidency. (snip) To keep the demagogues out of their knife drawers, Obama appointed Eric Holder attorney general. A Ron Brown protégé, Holder came of age in the minority huckster wards of D.C., the most relentlessly corrupt slice of political America since Boss Tweed hung up his Tammany money belt more than a century earlier. Holder did not disappoint. In his very first public act as attorney general, he showed his

The National Geographic Magazine, a publication heretofore not noted for satirical excellence, has published an article that easily could have appeared in The Onion. In fact, it begins by quoting that satirical publication as an authority. In Colorful World of Birding Has Conspicuous Lack of People of Color, author Martha Hamilton engages in hand-wringing and navel-gazing (yes, they can be done simultaneously, and for all I know, this might be good exercise) over the relative lack of “people of color” (as opposed to the colorless majority) out looking for exotic avian life. With traditional sexual morality discarded, the last taboo is under attack by the fairness mafia. The UK Telegraph reports: Laws banning incest between brothers and sisters in Germany could be scrapped after a government ethics committee said the they were an unacceptable intrusion into the right to sexual self-determination. “Criminal law is not the appropriate means to preserve a social taboo,” the German Ethics Council said in a statement. “The fundamental right of adult siblings to sexual self-determination is to be weighed more heavily than the abstract idea of protection of the family.”

In her just-released memoir, 27 year-old "Girls" star Lena Dunham claims that as a 19 year-old Oberlin College student in Ohio, she was raped by a college Republican. In the first chapter that addresses the encounter, Dunham describes the "ill-fated evening of lovemaking" as awkward and hollow. The most sensational moment comes from the fact that "Barry" wasn´t wearing a condom. In the next chapter, Dunham backtracks with the claim that she´s an "unreliable narrator" and accuses "Barry" of rape: [I]n another essay in this book I describe a sexual encounter with a mustachioed campus Republican as the upsetting but

The spin began soon after the threat was isolated. Information was selectively leaked. Half-truths and untruths were uttered. Responsibility was avoided; privileges and credentials asserted; authority reasserted. Trust us. Remain calm. Don’t panic. This is the template of recent events. President Obama was at Northwestern University on Thursday to deliver an economic speech that, he and his team hoped, would lay out the case for why the public is better off today than they were six years ago -- even if they didn´t feel it in their everday lives. Instead, Obama just gave every Republican ad-maker in the country more fodder for negative ads linking Democratic candidates to him. Here are the four sentences that will draw all of the attention (they come more than two thirds of the way through the speech): "I am not on the ballot this

A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. But recently, speculation is whirling that Romney may not be so adamant anymore. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story. We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.” That response, which

WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home. Gov. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use. “This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press release announcing his approval. “It

Speaking at a Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors event last night, Hillary Clinton decided to talk about Alexis de Tocqueville. The problem? She got it wrong -- by about a hundred years. "There´s a wonderful phrase that was first used by Alexis de Tocqueville, who came to the United States in the very early 1930s and traveled around our country," said Hillary Clinton, a probable 2016 presidential candidate. "And he was so amazed at how Americans organized themselves -- you know, coming from aristocratic Europe, which was totally top-down and hierarchical -- he couldn´t believe how many of us were joiners.
