If There’s No Imminent Threat

Ft. Bliss Stepping Up Security?

Daily Caller, by Tom Fitton

Just hours before the start of the Labor Day weekend, Judicial Watch learned through a network of sensitive sources that an operational element of the terror army “ISIS” was active in the Mexican border city of Juarez – a stone’s throw across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas. According to our well-sourced information, the Juarez ISIS element is planning an imminent terror strike somewhere on the border. Our sources warned that a car or other vehicle-type bomb attack was planned. We learned that the warnings merited briefing the commanding general of Fort Bliss – the massive US Army post

Why is our Commander in Chief not being confronted for dropping our defenses on our southern border, and allowing all sorts of unvetted individuals to enter our country unimpeded?

Why are our military leaders not sounding the alarm for such shoddy defenses and the existential threat to our homeland?

Why is Congress totally silent on such an urgent issue?

Why are our citizens so unconcerned about the imminent danger we have been placed into by our President?

Maybe our military leaders and Congressmen realize radical Muslims hear our announcements along with loyal Americans.

Our citizens, as a whole, are not unconcerned.

Obama threw away the color coded terrorist alert system implemented by Mr Bush. Not long after the ISIS issue came to light, a reporter asked Josh Earnest if we had raised our terror alert, as Britain had done. Mr Earnest replied, "It is unchanged". lol.

I agree that Obama, his administration, military leaders, and Congress are very silent on the threat of an imminent attack here on the homeland. However, I believe average Americans are outraged that the border is unsecured. The death and destruction that would ensue from such a horrific attack will sit squarely on the shoulders of Obama and those in Washington who did not have the courage to demand that the country be protected. What will their excuse be, that they didn´t know? There is NO excuse for this breach of security. If God forbid, an attack occurs, there will be no place for these cowardly politicians to hide because Americans will be enraged and rightly so. Obama and his cronies are playing Russian roulette with the lives of American citizens and we know this is not going to end well. Stay out of big crowds and be alert and aware of your surroundings..

It will take multiple terrorist attacks with many thousands killed before anything is ever done about our open borders. The media will do everything in their power to downplay anything that happens and will proclaim that there is nothing the president could have done to prevent it because those mean republicans keep obstructing our nice looking, articulate, and genius president.

U.S. Army works on contingencies and risk analysis, not on how the world appears with pixie dust in one´s eyes.

Heightened security at Fort Bliss is a no-brainer, just based on an implied threat.

#3, the color-coded threat levels was based on something the U.S. military did prior to 9-11, continued to do during the civilian version and is still doing.

The title says it all:

The commander of Ft. Bliss is not incompetent, unconcerned, and very likely remembers every element of his oath of office.

He almost certainly has a high regard for the military and probably really believes America is a good thing.

He probably spends more energy on his official duties than his golf score.

With no immediate information or even knowledge of who the man is, I would bet a years income against an old "Yes We Can" campaign button that a terrorist, an illegal alien (or even an investigative journalist dressed up as Bin Laden) would have more trouble sneaking across the Ft. Bliss perimeter fence than across the US southern border.

You got it, #6. They certainly didn´t create a new national monument in S. New Mexico to protect the environment, as any search for "border trash" will show you. Border areas in Arizona are absolutely trashed by illegal aliens. It´s just a new corridor for illegals and terrorists to travel up from Mexico, without interference from law enforcement, who can no longer patrol with vehicles. It´s right across the highway from me. Look forward to fighting off the barbarian hordes....

Either they do (Obama to Putin: "after the election, I can be more flexible...") and it is intentional, or they don´t and our government is just plain incompetent.

Let me just say that Sept 11 2012 came and went and the Obama Administration allowed an attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans. It was clearly on his watch as he is Commander in Chief. Then he went around for weeks lying and blaming it on a YouTube video. So what happened to him for his dereliction? Zip. Zilch. Nada.

If we´re attacked next Thursday he will blame the Border Patrol, Rick Perry or George Bush. The press will nod in agreement.

I hadn´t heard that. During WW II the U.S. Government struck an agreement with Mexico to secure the port at Puerto Penasco as a “joint contingency plan” for the Pacific Naval Fleet. The U.S. military built a staging dock at the port and paved a 65 mile highway from Lukeville (Sonoyta). Curious.

Yesterdays’ big roundup of the outlook for the GOP in the Congressional races spurred a predictable amount of “I’m staying home, the GOP is a bunch of sellouts, I’ll start voting again when the party stands for principle and nominates some true conservatives” responses. You may have seen my reaction here. On to the gubernatorial races… Let’s begin with the states where Democrats said they would be competitive… and they just aren’t. Wendy Davis is not going to derail Greg Abbott in Texas; she’s probably going to have the biggest hype-to-performance ratio of this cycle. Vincent Sheheen finished surprisingly close in 2010

News that a man has been diagnosed with the virus in Dallas days after arriving from Liberia is alarming—and to prevent more U.S. cases, certain rules must never be broken. The announcement that a case of Ebola virus has been diagnosed in a Dallas hospital sent a chill through the medical, public health, and basic citizen communities. I know my jaw surely dropped as far as it has dropped since 2001, when the word of the first anthrax case in New York appeared in my email. At issue is the "risk corridors" program, which aims to stabilize the insurance market on the new health insurance exchanges

The Democrats’ biggest worry heading toward November is Obama’s fall from grace with his base. This could make things even worse for them than currently expected. Democrats’ only hope to offset Republicans’ anticipated midterm surge is their base’s high turnout. However, Obama’s deep drop with his strongest supporters seriously calls this hope into question. Democrats know they will lose seats in November. The only question is: How many? At best, they hope to hang on to the Senate by a hair. Losses for the party holding the presidency are nothing new.
