Fast food strikes hit 150 US cities
MSNBC, by Ned Resnikoff

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 9/4/2014 8:57:37 AM

Thousands of fast food workers across the United States were walking off the job Thursday morning, affecting restaurants in about 150 cities nationwide. It was just the latest in a series of coordinated strikes that have taken place since November 2012, although Thursday’s strike may be the first such action to include large-scale civil disobedience. Organizers would not confirm on the record whether civil disobedience and arrests would take place in any of the cities affected by the strikes, but fast food workers have repeatedly vowed to take whatever measures are necessary in order to win a $15 hourly wage and union

Comments:
The Occupy Wall St. crime spree was driven by the unions in accordance with 0bama´s strategy, the attempt to use third world children at our borders to get his way has failed (so far) thanks to American public opinion, the agitation of lawlessness in Ferguson has petered out thanks to the new media bringing the facts to the fore, so now we get the next manufactured crisis in yet another attempt to further erode the success of capitalism, just a few days after Barry made his irresponsible and idiotic economic remarks on Labor Day.....right on cue.

Fast food employees are on the job. Union slug agitators are walking the picket lines, stirring the pot and being paid to do so.

These idiots - dressed in shirts and carrying signs someone else paid for - don´t realize how many of them WILL be replaced by technology. At $15 / hour, it will pay for franchisees to invest in technologies that will handle many of the mundane tasks that are currently performed by minimum wage workers.

[And this might be unfair, but some of those protestors look pretty well-fed.]

They´re proving the other sides case. This is ridiculous. Any fast food job has a line of people waiting to take it at the prevailing wage. If you want hire wages make yourself a better employee. Support getting government out of the workplace. If you strike, you get fired. You get replaced with a kiosk. Morons.

They want more money?? Then they should get their butts to college or trade school and learn something useful and get a job that actually pays something they can live on!!! Fast food jobs are starter jobs and were never intended to be "feed your family" jobs. Stupid lo-fos are just making things harder on themselves, especially when the franchisees start closing restaurants in response to this nonsense.

Fast food prices have jumped 25% this year, after having been static for a long time. It´s much harder to get a minimal lunch for less than $5. Is hyper-inflation starting to rear its head? There are always signs to look back on that you can´t see at the time.

These protestors are rent a mob. It´s so funny. They get paid $50 to protest. Remember the fastfood protest in Chicago a few months ago? They were bussed in given $50, blew it at the casino and had to eat at a fast food place on the way home because they had no money. Hysterical!

Hundreds of environmentalists plan to "shut down" the New York Stock Exchange later Tuesday to protest the relationship between global warming and Big Business. Scores of protesters had already gathered in lower Manhattan early Tuesday for an event dubbed #FloodWallStreet. They planned to march a few blocks north to Wall Street and stage a "sit-in" until forced to leave. Their beef: the fossil fuels industry and other companies are profiting at the expense of the environment. The activists said they were willing to be arrested to drive home the link between global capitalism and worsening climate change.

President Barack Obama, stumping for the Democrats ahead of November´s congressional elections, has twice invoked Ronald Reagan´s seminal campaign question: "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" Framing the debate like that helped Reagan twice - in 1980 when he beat incumbent Jimmy Carter, and then again in 1984 when he won re-election during an economic upswing. But a similar message has failed to resonate for Obama primarily for one reason: while he stresses the economy has improved in almost every aspect on his watch, average family incomes have slipped.
