Environmental hypocrisy? Greenpeace embarrassed
by leaders’ jet-setting carbon footprint

Washington Times, by Gordon Darroch

Original Article

THE HAGUE — For two years, Pascal Husting’s employer chartered a jet to shuttle him most weeks between his home in Luxembourg and his office in Amsterdam. Such trips are common for executives at major international corporations in Western Europe. But Mr. Husting isn’t working for a corporation. He is the international program director for Greenpeace, the nonprofit that is arguably the world’s most high-profile environmental advocacy organization. Mr. Husting’s weekly commute prompted a chorus of derision from Greenpeace opponents after “Flygate” was revealed in Dutch media this summer.

Typical liberal... do as I say, not as I do. Liberals know how you should live your life, and do not mind forcing you to live your life the way they believe you should. Just do not expect them to do the same thing. They consider themselves to be special...

Better hide all the sharp objects, since that AlGore-Michael Moore crowd is so easily shamed, I´m sure Pascal is looking for the "honorable" way to prevent his ever again producing CO2.

The obvious conclusion is that these people don´t believe what they are preaching. We´ve seen it before with Gore´s mansions, carbon-spewing jetting around the world, his big limos. The whole crusade is a hoax and the crusaders know it.

So why take a train from Luxembourg to Brussels ?
Think of all the energy that uses!

The sad thing is that these clowns and people like Algore and Jon Kerry are lying to the people. They are going to be unmasked at some point and the people who supported them are going to disconnect from environmentalism in anger and frustration.

A lot of good has come out of consideration of the environment. That might be pushed aside in the cleanup. I would like to see the EPA disbanded because I think it is hopelessly politically corrupted.

But I don´t want people pouring waste into the water, land, and air either.

There needs to be a well controlled middle ground. These regulations that destroy industries and cost $100s of millions to implement MUST be stopped. If that type of action is needed it should be submitted to Congress for action.

If there’s one major policy issue to the startup community, it’s noncompete clauses. Should they be legal? Should they be limited? On Monday, some members of that community were looking to get answers from Martha Coakley and Charlie Baker about their stances when the candidates for governor spoke to a tech- and startup-minded crowd in Cambridge. They didn’t get much. Noncompetes are a contractual tool with which employers can require new hires to agree not to work for a competitor for some time after they leave. Well, that didn’t take long. Just two weeks into the new season of “The View,” co-hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg tore into each other during a commercial break — in front of their stunned studio audience. The spat erupted Thursday after Goldberg interrupted O’Donnell to go to a commercial break before the mother of five was finished commenting in a “Hot Topic” discussion about spanking children on the ABC gabfest. O’Donnell refuses to wear an earpiece to stay in contact with producers while the live show is airing, so she had no clue it was time to stop talking.

The U.S. shale boom is about to hit another big milestone, as it looks like fracking will propel American liquid petroleum production (that includes oil and natural gas liquids) past Saudi Arabia for the first time in nearly a quarter century. The FT reports: US production of oil and related liquids such as ethane and propane was neck-and-neck with Saudi Arabia in June and again in August at about 11.5m barrels a day, according to the International Energy Agency, the watchdog backed by rich countries. With US production continuing to boom, its output is set to exceed Saudi Arabia’s this month or

Investigators have recommended the government bar a Virginia company that employs a who’s who list of former powerful federal officials from getting contracts after they found employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs improperly tried to steer business to the firm. The VA’s inspector general said in a scathing report that Susan M. Taylor, deputy chief procurement officer for the Veterans Health Administration, “continually” lied about her dealings with FedBid, the well-connected reverse auction company whose advisers and employees include two former top White House procurement officials, a general and a former congressman. Ms. Taylor and FedBid officials sought to “thwart” a

Upon Attorney General Eric Holder´s resignation last week, NBC´s Chuck Todd made an odd comment: “[W]hat’s interesting about him, he is a very non-political person.” There may be merit to saying Holder has been more ideological than political, but it still seems like a strange thing to say about him. After all, his most famous act before his tenure as Attorney General had been to help arrange President Bill Clinton´s highly unusual and controversial last minute pardon of a wanted fugitive — mega-donor and billionaire Marc Rich. Holder not only recommended the pardon (calling himself “neutral leaning favorable”) but was also

The slogan of Delaware State University is “Making Our Mark on the World,” and a faculty member is doing just that by endangering the lives of thousands of people in Ebola-ravaged West Africa. As medical workers, bolstered by the U.S. military, struggle to contain a rapidly expanding epidemic, Prof. Cyril Broderick published a newspaper article in Liberia stating that the same military “manufactured” Ebola as a biological weapon and started the plague by testing it on Africans. Still more, Broderick, a plant biologist, asserts that some of the organizations battling Ebola — including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the World Health

The Hillary Clinton Front-Group, American Bridge, filed a bogus federal complaint against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and then a federal probe into New Jersey Governor Chris Christie found no evidence linking Christie to “Bridge-Gate.” Meanwhile, Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted last month. Make no mistake, these events are related. Emerging is a new liberal tactic to gin up legal proceedings against conservatives and then use the media to amplify the investigations and make the officials look guilty. For many, the Adrian Peterson child abuse case spanning Texas to Minnesota has been tough to grasp as, up until several weeks ago, he was viewed by most people who knew anything about him as a good man, not just a great football player for the Minnesota Vikings. Compounding matters is that the charges against him have exposed a parallel universe of baby making and child rearing that most Americans don’t get to see every day. But when they do, most find it hard to fathom. It’s not irrelevant to matters at hand that Peterson has fathered at least four children with perhaps four different women, including one who’s

For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

WASHINGTON — The Senate’s minority whip is confident about Republicans being the majority in the 114th Congress — if conservatives can set aside differences and work to combat the massive influx of donor cash that has Democratic campaigns ahead in the money race. Only in the majority, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) stresses, can conservatives make headway on tamping down overregulation, repealing and replacing Obamacare, securing the “chaotic” border, getting Keystone XL moving, and bringing civilized debate back to the upper chamber. And only by realizing the gravity of the battle for November, he argues, can Republicans relegate Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

Under SB270, plastic bags will be phased out of large grocery stores starting next summer and convenience stores and pharmacies in 2016.
