Americans increasingly want border secured
USA Today, by Alan Gomez

Americans have become more focused on securing the border and less interested in providing legal standing to undocumented immigrants living in the USA, according to a poll released Wednesday. In the wake of news reports about tens of thousands of Central American children rushing across the nation´s southwestern border, a new Pew Research Center survey found that 33% of Americans want to focus on border security, 23% prefer a pathway to citizenship, and 41% want both. Last year, as Congress debated an immigration bill that would have allowed many of the nation´s 11 million undocumented immigrants to become citizens, Pew estimated that

Wait until more and more Americans figure out that state and local school district taxes are going to have to be jacked way up to pay for hundreds of thousands of young illegal aliens who Obama and the liberal Democrats want to stay here and enroll in the public schools all over the country. That´s just a drop in he bucket, as once all those young illegal aliens are settled here as refugees, the next liberal Democrat move will be to reunify their family groups by allowing their foreign parents and siblings to come into the USA to join them.

The head of the Nobel Peace Prize committee risks a unprecedented demotion after announcing the 2014 winner next week, part of wider changes that could both tilt the award to the right and dim chances for future U.S. presidents to win. The Nobel season of the world´s most coveted awards, each worth $1.1 million, opens on Monday with the medicine or physiology prize followed by physics, chemistry, peace and economics. The date for the literature prize has not been set. Pope Francis, U.N. WASHINGTON — About a month from the 2014 midterm elections House Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was already predicting a sweep for her party in the 2016 election. Referring to Republicans, Pelosi said, "Their days are numbered. I know that in two years there will be a Democratic Congress and a Democratic President." Pelosi has publicly urged former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to run for president and said if Clinton does decide to run she would win. While she was clearly looking ahead the top House Democrat was careful not to concede the election this November. Pressed about the prediction she made

WASHINGTON — Julia Pierson, the director of the Secret Service, is resigning in the wake of several security breaches, according to administration officials. The resignation came less than a day after lawmakers from both parties assailed Ms. Pierson’s leadership and said they feared for the lives of the president and others in the protection of the agency. A 30-year veteran of the Secret Service, Ms. Pierson was supposed to have been the one to repair the agency’s reputation after scandals that raised questions about a culture that gave rise to incidents involving drinking and prostitution during overseas trips.

Nearly 35,000 walruses were discovered this month on a northwest Alaskan shore as result of being unable to find sea ice to rest upon, a problem aggravated by climate change, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said. The unusually massive walrus gatherings were first spotted on Sept. 13 when NOAA conducted its annual arctic marine mammal aerial survey, a spokeswoman told the Associated Press. The marine mammals use sea ice as diving platforms to hunt for food in shallow areas, or as resting points to avoid long, exhausting swims. President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. And that is right and proper. Because not only was his excuse of blaming us a lie, but when questioned on his lie, White House press secretary Josh Earnest doubled down with a whole new lie — both of which are easily, publicly proven false. On Sunday, Obama said the intelligence community had underestimated the rise of ISIS, saying in an interview

My last article for American Thinker was too long. And too short. Too long because the gurus tell us articles should be about 600 words. The Obama administration found itself scrambling on Tuesday to defend President Barack Obama for his lackluster 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings, a finding from a new report issued by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI). When asked about the GAI revelation on Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered and unprepared. "Well, I have no validation of those statistics," said Psaki. "There are a range of ways that you can get your intelligence briefings on the road, in the White House, and I know that he receives those whenever he can."

President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus

HOUSTON, Texas -- Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was found not guilty today by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. This is the highest appellate court in Texas for criminal cases and thus brings DeLay’s political persecution to an end. The court upheld the ruling last year from the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals. That decision tossed out the convictions on money laundering and conspiracy charges. At that time Justice Melissa Goodwin wrote “The fundamental problem with the state´s case was its failure to prove proceeds of criminal activity,” according to a September 19th report on Breitbart News.
