U.S. Government Lost Track of 6,000
Foreign Nationals of ‘Heightened Concern’

More than 6,000 foreign nationals in the United States on student visas have vanished after overstaying their time here, raising alarm at the Department of Homeland Security. The federal agency is now working to find them after losing track of their whereabouts. Officials at the federal agency told ABC News there are more than 58,000 students who overstayed their visas over the past year. Approximately 6,000 of those foreign nationals were referred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents for “follow-up,” as they’re of “heightened concern.” “My greatest concern is that they could be doing anything,” Peter Edge, deputy associate director for Homeland

Check the welfare rolls. Probably hangin´ out there or in the shadows with the rest of the invasive "migrants" from Central America.
Seriously, isn´t it time to revamp this student visa program? Set it up like a parole system with the institutes of higher learning or put a total stop to it.

Yup, our borders are more secure than ever. Nothing to be concerned about. Back to sleep, everyone, while we watch you...and not them.

OVERSTAYERS are a major problem, not the pathetic border crossers who dig tunnels or die of thrust in the desert.
Overstayers KNOW we have no way to track them, once they are admitted LEGALLY. For $55 a Mexican national can get a shopper´s visa to come across the border to stock up at Walmart. Or they can pay tuition to attend a school that nobody ever heard of. Or claim to visit a non-existent family residing in the US.
We can track a UPS package minute by minute, but not a legal border crosser.

So, in 2001 they decide that the 26 arrests of suspects with overstayed visas meant they had a tracking problem. Some dimwit obviously decided that doubling the number of temporary visas would help. Now ICE wants to hire new morons to check schools. Some simple rules would help. Only allow visas to accredited schools. Have the school inform ICE if student stops paying tuition or attending classes. At graduation, the student should be sent home unless he has employment in the specialized field for which he got his degree.

The quintessential question of Watergate was “what did the President know and when did he know it?” Obamagate, the vast scandal that encompasses an entire presidency, offers a preemptive answer. Obama didn’t know anything and he never knew it. At least not until, like smuggling weapons to druglords, bugging journalists, IRSing his political enemies and killing vets, his right hand found out about what his left hand was doing from the morning paper. After skipping 58% of his daily intelligence briefings in Term 1 and 59% of them in Term 2, he went on 60 Minutes and blamed intelligence agencies for being

Hard-charging radio commentator Mark Levin is sick of waiting for the Republican Party to nominate a conservative for president, and today he outlined his plan to accomplish just that. Speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, the talk radio giant and bestselling author issued a call to action to the crowd of social conservatives, prescribing a grassroots movement to elect a conservative to the White House in 2016. Levin lamented that Americans under age 50 haven’t yet had the chance to vote for a true conservative such as Ronald Reagan for president and called on conference attendees to spend the next

The Middle East is like a vast dysfunctional family. Western leftists like to place all the blame on Israel, but for 1,300 years before modern Israel declared its independence, Muslims were routinely killing each other, following the rule: Me against my brother, my brothers and me against our cousins, my clan against the world. One of the weirdest moves in this dysfunctional culture is for Arabs and Turks to accuse each other of being secret Jews. (Snip) But! Today, science comes to the rescue, in the form of DNA analysis. (Snip) By the end of the spring semester, I would bring David three plaintiffs in three separate public university speech code cases. He would win two of those cases after filing suit in federal court. The university caved in the third case after merely catching wind of the fact that they were about to be sued. We were off to a good start working together. Over the course of the summer I started to prepare

A young Orthodox rabbi of my acquaintance denounced Jews who exult in the mutual slaughter of Muslims from the pulpit on the Jewish New Year. He is of course correct: no-one should take pleasure in the death of noncombatants. There is very good reason to believe that they are succeeding. Judging by the proliferation of the horror genre in popular entertainment, we are succumbing to horror

From the window of his Paris home, Michel Ciardi can see into the waiting room of a government welfare agency where a predominantly Arab and African crowd awaits government checks. A former communist, Ciardi once believed the scene at the agency was a necessary element of French efforts to help integrate new immigrants. But that changed in 2000 after the second Palestinian intifada triggered a massive increase in anti-Semitic violence, much of it committed by Arab and African immigrants. The violence was enough to shift his political allegiance to the National Front, a far-right party long demonized by

Watching the parade of the naïve, the far left, and their energy-hogging celebrity manipulators marching in New York City this week, I was struck by how much these true believers had in common with jihadis, a notion reinforced by Perdue Professor Louis Rene Beres’ description of jihadis in Gatestone Institute and my friend “Ignatz´s’" comment at Just One Minute. Both movements seem to these authors to be a means of denying death and change and making the mortal, immortal and the insignificant individual life, a significant force when massed with others. Yet Ernest Hemingway worked for Stalin’s KGB and nobody (among the “smart set”) seems to bat an eye. President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. And that is right and proper. The Obama administration found itself scrambling on Tuesday to defend President Barack Obama for his lackluster 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings, a finding from a new report issued by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI). When asked about the GAI revelation on Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered and unprepared. "Well, I have no validation of those statistics," said Psaki. Sacramento, Calif. - Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday signed legislation imposing the nation's first statewide ban on single-use plastic bags, driven to action by a buildup of litter and damage to aquatic ecosystems. A national coalition of plastic bag manufacturers immediately said it would seek a voter referendum to repeal the law, which is scheduled to take effect in July 2015. Under SB270, plastic bags will be phased out of large grocery stores starting next summer and convenience stores and pharmacies in 2016. The law allows grocers to charge a fee of at least 10 cents for using paper bags. State Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Los Angeles,

Boehner applauded Bush’s ability to “talk about Republican issues better than most anybody that we’ve got out there,” approving of his “real record of reform” as Florida’s governor from 1999 to 2007. President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus
