The Obama era is over.
The presidency continues.

The Week, by Michael Brendan Dougherty

Just in time for the season´s final barbecue, President Obama last week backed off his promise (threat?) to "do something" about immigration reform by the end of the summer if Congress failed to send him a bill addressing the issue. He needs more time, we´re told. It´s a dumb and uneventful conclusion to a dumb, uneventful summer in Washington politics. Obama´s promise to rewrite America´s immigration law through a mixture of executive fiat and a kind of officious neglect may have been calculated to incite a GOP freakout, a summer of polarizing impeachment rage, or a self-defeating government shutdown. Zippy´s ´foreign policy´ being an obvious improvement over his predecessor is one of the most bizarre statements I have seen in print lately. Lets see... Iraq war won, Afghanistan on way to win, Russia bottled up. Peace on the Israeli Palestinians front. Befriended India. $10 billion AIDS initiative for Africa. One can go on about W even longer. These reporters cannot shake their crano-rectal inversion no matter how hard they try.

You better not call his bluff on immigration!!! Oops...

The concern that BO will do some amazingly brazen and stupid stuff is still real. After the midterms he will have no constraints. Eric Holder and the EPA have shown they are willing to do anything to serve the liberal agenda.

No, nothing of permanence can be accomplished because BO will not be able to pass any laws. If the Senate goes Republican, BO may become known as the Veto President as he tries to stop a tide of legislation that Reid had been blocking. But BO could still do damage in a mean spirited way.

The most interesting thing will be how the Narcissist in Chief does without adulation
and under a increasing barrage of criticism and disappointment. Just being set aside, like what happens to all presidents, will be bad enough for him. The next two years are NOT going to be kind to BO.

So needs more time, aye? Amnesty EO is circling the bowl but not fully flushed. He´ll probably be back to torture us with it again, after his wounded, endangered candidates get past Nov 4. I do not think any other president has worried so many of us day in, day out with his agenda. We should sue collectively for mental anguish, cruel and unusual punishment, lol.

No matter what barry the bungler does from now on, he will be hated and scorned by friend and enemy alike after messing up and degrading the finest country in the world. He has done enough already to earn the title of "Worst President" for all time.

The joke will still be on us as he collects his exhorbitant salary, continues to golf daily and enjoys security protection for the rest of his worthless life but democrats are going to be suffering for a long time for supporting this fraud for eight years so they could keep their jobs.

Powerful stuff #2 but if Obama and his team had any genuine interest in protecting America and he allies, they would be shocked at how quickly unambiguous, assertive legislation could move through the House. The Senate? That´s their problem but they would do whatever the White House instructed.

The Democrats, as if we didn´t know, are a bunch of dead-enders in that they have no principles whatsoever therefore they can devote their entire day to clutching power.

The ´educated´ Dems (including so-called Republicans) are 60s relics facing old age and death. They have squandered a half-century of postwar prosperity and power. The ignorant generations they have bred are a problem but can be retrained even if by unpleasant means.

None of that helps solve the immediate problem if America survives we can hold Obama and his mindset up for decades to come as an example of how not to think and what not to do.

I guess beheadings of Americans every week or two is "nothing" to worry about for the next two years. S/

The reason obama is doing nothing on immigration is because he does not have to. All incumbent GOPe senators won their primaries. If/when the R´s take the senate the payoff to the CoC is Immigration Reform (amnesty) since this bill will come from a R senate the house will cave.

All Hussein has to do is invite him to lunch and he caves & is thereby complicit with anything and all Hussein wants to do. Obama is so out of his league and so inexperienced despite his 5 years in office that his ego dominates his decision making, especially now as more people are laughing at him. I hate to say this, but our only hope is for Democrats to stop this poisonous monster in the Oval Office. The huge problem I see coming is an act of personal revenge using Defense, EPA, Homeland, Justice and CIA. In each department Obama has the capacity to order incredible actions that would resinate for years or decades. He´s done this already, but as he gets more cornered his disastrous decisions to date could be dwarfed by even more extreme orders. What if he orders some headline grabbing military attack, against the recommendations of our commanders, that pushes the nuclear buttons held by Pakistan & N. Korea, or causes Putin to invade a NATO ally? I could go on but hate to consider them frankly.

Or maybe the South Carolina congressman suddenly realized that he wasn´t actually 15 and was under no compulsion to vent his conflicted emotions on social media. EDINBURGH, Scotland - Scottish voters have resoundingly rejected independence, deciding to remain part of the United Kingdom after a historic referendum that shook the country to its core. The decision prevented the rupture of a 307-year union with England, bringing a huge sigh of relief to Britain´s political establishment, including Prime Minister David Cameron, who faced calls for his resignation if Scotland had broken away. The vote on Thursday - 55 percent against independence to 45 percent in favor - saw an unprecedented turnout of just under 85 percent. If there is one thing that the Administration and Democratic candidates have in their favor going into the mid-term elections, it is that election day is November 4, and Obamacare’s second open enrollment begins on November 15. If the dates were flipped, there is little doubt that voters affected by Obamacare would wreak havoc on the politicians who imposed the Rube Goldberg contraption of exchanges on them. Despite having just tossed another $60 million out the window “to help consumers navigate their health care coverage options in the Health Insurance Marketplace,” the Administration will likely face an even more bemused and
