An Oklahoma City police dog killed while helping his partner catch a knife-wielding thief has been laid to rest with full honors. More than 1,000 people and dozens of service dogs attended the funeral service last week for Kye, a 3-year-old Belgian German Shepherd that was stabbed to death by the suspect. Kye’s partner since serving on the police department´s K-9 unit, Sgt. Ryan Stark, shed tears and expressed a final farewell to the dog before his flag-draped coffin was buried and the canine was given out a 21-gun salute. Kye was injured while Stark was responding to a stolen

Oklahoma City shames the federal government and the U.S. military regarding their reported treatment of military service dogs. If I knew how to post a link, I would. I saw it on Breitbart.

I love dogs and have the highest respect for working dogs but a funeral with full police honors is over the top in my estimation. Recognize the dogs valor? Absolutely! Anthropomorphizing the noble animal with honors appropriate for a human? No.

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed a Motion for Limited Discovery in its Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in order to force the agency to comply with federal court orders to produce information about how “lost and/or destroyed” IRS records relating to the targeting of conservative groups may be retrieved.(snip)“The existence of these additional storage systems for IRS records and the IRS’s failure to disclose these systems to the Court is deeply troubling. During another grueling hearing on the ObamaCare rollout, the head of the IRS tried to offer lawmakers an assurance about the soon-to-open enrollment period. “Whenever we can, we follow the law,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told the House Ways and Means subcommittee on health on Wednesday. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), who leads the subcommittee, immediately expressed his concern with the remarks. “I encourage you to follow the law in all instances,” Brady said. Koskinen, who was confirmed as head of IRS last December, has repeatedly faced lawmakers´ ire over the agency´s targeting of conservative groups. Lawmakers spent a majority of Wednesday´s hearing grilling Koskinen and

Congressional investigators have released tesimony showing that an attorney for the IRS told the Treasury Department counsel of the destroyed emails, who then passed the information on to the White House. The conversations took place in April - two months before the IRS told Congress of the destruction of evidence. Republican lawmakers have suggested that the agency collaborated with the Treasury Department and the executive’s office to control the damage of the IRS targeting scandal. The White House learned about the e-mail issues in April, two months before

In 2011, the state of Utah passed a law banning taxes on the use of gold and silver coins as currency and permitting residents to remit state taxes in these coins. Big deal, you might say. That’s already in the Constitution: “No state shall…make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts.” Oklahoma has done something similar, confirming that transactions taking place in gold and silver are free from state taxes on the exchange medium. Currently, in federal law, if you buy things with gold, for example, you have to declare as taxable the gain on

Late last Friday afternoon, in a blatant “late news dump” to avoid making headlines about the Internal Revenue’s witch hunt against conservative non-profits, the IRS disclosed to Congress that five more of the IRS computers containing relevant records had mysteriously crashed. Those computers belonged to colleagues of Lois Lerner, whose conduct is at the center of the investigation. Perhaps there is some strange computer virus that selectively trashes records inconvenient to incumbents, like the “glitch” that erased part of Nixon’s tapes. How else to explain the fact that this is the fourth announcement of an ever-expanding

The Internal Revenue Service has lost emails from five more employees who are part of congressional probes into the treatment of conservative groups that applied for tax-exempt status, the tax service disclosed Friday. The tax agency said in June that it could not locate an untold number of emails to and from Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS division that processes applications for tax-exempt status. The revelation set off a new round of investigations and congressional hearings. On Friday, the IRS issued a report to Congress saying the agency also lost emails from five other employees related to the probe,

WASHINGTON — A federal judge on Thursday declined to issue a preliminary injunction blocking the Internal Revenue Service from destroying e-mails or other potential evidence. The ruling by U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton is a blow to True the Vote, the Texas-based organization that’s suing the IRS over its handling of a tax-exempt status application. After filing the suit, conservatives and lawmakers learned that e-mails belonging to former IRS official Lois Lerner had gone missing. In asking for the injunction, True the Vote said it didn’t trust the IRS to refrain from destroying other evidence. On the other hand, Walton noted, the Treasury Inspector
