President Obama approved sending 350 additional troops to Baghdad, the Iraqi capital, to increase security at the U.S. Embassy compound and its support facilities. The Pentagon said late Tuesday that the new personnel would build upon previous deployments that were announced in June, boosting security in Iraq to about 820 people. "The additional joint forces will come from within the U.S. Central Command area of operations and will include a headquarters element, medical personnel, associated helicopters, and an air liaison team," Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John F. Kirby said in a statement. The forces are expected to provide security for the

Enemies at your front. Allies that ran away leaving your sophisticated weapons behind for the enemy at your back. And a CIC who could abandon you on a whim. Worst military assignment ever.

Aren´t the Marines charged with protecting US Embassies? Nowhere in this article does it mention the Marines. No more boots on the ground? Then again, if part of the contingent is an air liaison team, I´m thinking Saigon 1975. Not again.

I have previously stated, no boots on the ground means the troops will be employing skate boards. This is like attempting to put out a three alarm fire with a garden hose.

Somebody better teach skippy a history lesson about Task Force Smith.

More fine men are about to be sent into a no win situation.

If you are going to send in troops, send more than you think you need. The enemy has access to your own weaponry bettering their odds against you. Give your men a chance.

This man child is clueless and useless.

350 against thousands doesn´t make it look like a restart of the war, it hints of a security team, so obama can have an opening to make his usual excuses. What is obama going to do when they start dying or need backup help? We are going to see some angry military people when these troops take massive casualties due to incompetent decisions made in Washington by a kid who knows nothing about war.

I think this is the 4th deployment of 350, sure is the slow way to get to 3,500. A once injuction of 7,000 would end ISIS in Iraq and maybe a few miles into Syria.

On September 16, the president flew to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta to speak to the public on the disease with the reassuring and authoritative logo of the CDC behind his head. President Obama is not popular at this point in his presidency, even in a blue state like Minnesota. Our own Senator Al Franken repeatedly bristled as GOP candidate Mike McFadden cited Franken’s 97 percent voting record in support of Obama at their debate in Duluth earlier this week. Franken mocked the statistic but didn’t offer a correction. That’s because the statistic is correct and because any purported correction would be even more damning if it came from Franken. The 97 percent figure is a good one to use. It doesn’t come from a partisan source; it comes from Congressional Quarterly.

The back-and-forth between Jindal and his questioners went deep into the proposal´s details, and it was soon clear that Jindal could dive as far into the health care policy weeds as any of the wonkiest wonks.
