Democrats distancing themselves from
President Obama as midterms approach

New York Daily News, by Adam Edelman

President Obama spent Labor Day in Wisconsin, opening the campaign season in a battleground state with a tight race for governor — but the Democrat at the top of the ticket there was nowhere to be seen. Mary Burke, who is battling to unseat Republican Gov. Scott Walker, decided to steer clear of Obama’s visit to LaborFest, an annual salute to organized labor held in Milwaukee. She became the latest in a parade of Democrats in tight races who have tried to create space between themselves and a President with weak poll numbers. That´s easy to understand.

What I don´t understand is why the republicans don´t go all out to connect the democrat candidates to Obama.

It would be more helpful than selling GHWB socks.

Just my thoughts, #1, 2. The Republicans still can´t seem to make hay out of Obama´s numerous gaffes,
dangerous foreign policy indecisiveness and tanking poll numbers. They could finish off the Democrats they would just unify and have every pol that is interviewed on every show super glue Obama to every Democrat incumbent. This is such a gift. Pubbies remain clueless as a general rule. There is no reason any Dem should be getting away with distancing themselves from this horrible POTUS.

Time to start the commercials of Democrats morphing into Obama.

This would be a good time for impeachment. What Democrat seeking re-election would defend Obama?

It´s in the DNC rulebook. Distance yourself from what you´ve enabled an incompetent president to do, lie to the public to get elected, then go back to doing what you do best - enable an incompetent president again.

Obama is radioactive and it seems to have no discernible effect on him. It reminds of the label applied to the Clintons when Bill was president that they don´t ever seem to be embarrassed about anything they do, that would send a rush of blood to any normal person´s face.

What disgusting pieces of cowardice these democrats are. They have gone along with everything Obama has done and NOW they want to distance themselves? Pathetic!! The only reason is they are trying to save their political hides. Have some courage! If Obama was their guy, as it has been proven these last few years, they need to stand up and be proud that they have supported a man who has destroyed this country. I hope and pray Obama has so stained the democrat party that they will never be able to wash away the mark of failure and anti-Americanism he has made. When the democrats put an incompetent progressive ideologue over the well being of their constituents, they deserve to be booted out of office.

So the Democrats, now that their own arses are under fire, are ready to throw Uncle Obama into the briar patch. A little late, a little obvious, but it does send a message to voters that this tar baby is too sticky for their election prospects.

About time.

Now the Republicans need to firmly and decisively articulate conservatism - not isolationism - to the voters. The country is hungry for a real leader, one who is the anti-Obama, about as far from his polar star as possible.
