Obama on Labor Day:
Don´t take rights for granted

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 8/30/2014 5:14:30 PM

President Barack Obama is asking Americans this Labor Day to think about the rights and benefits that people often take for granted. In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama says he´s optimistic about the growing economy. He says decisions made now will determine whether the recovery will pick up speed. Obama says workers and unions fought for things like Social Security, Medicare, workplace safety laws and the right to organize. He says those fights built a stronger middle class. Obama says to strengthen the modern middle class, the U.S. must raise its minimum wage. He says states and businesses

Comments:
Text book leftist doctrinaire blather.
He views government regulation, confiscation of wealth and it´s redistribution as a "right".

The only things that Unions ever raised is the dues, and the cost of doing business which is being for by the consumer and the labor force earning "higher" wages. What a train wreck this moron is.

He is so used to talking to "organizees that he thinks that´s what ever neighborhood is made up of.

With Barry wielding presidential authority, acting like a king, and daring Americans to resist his egregious incursions across the separations of power, who can afford to take rights for granted? Our own government doesn´t respect the rights they are sworn to defend.

Raising minimum wage = more union dues.
Nice try.

Just once I would like for this POS to say something kind to the elderly in this country.
They cannot get by on SS with inflation. Raising minimum wage will only made it worse.

Senate Republicans are preparing an agenda for their first 100 days in power next year in case they win majority control of the upper chamber, The Hill reported. The agenda includes authorizing the long-delayed Keystone XL oil pipeline, approving “fast-track” trade authority, rolling back new Environmental Protection Agency regulations and repealing Obamacare’s unpopular tax on medical devices. Republican senators insisted they were not “measuring the drapes” in anticipation of a wave election sweeping them into power after years in the minority. “We will have to be prepared if we are in a position to govern,” Sen. There’s a fable in Democratic circles about the time Bernie Sanders, Vermont’s self-described socialist senator, who is visiting Iowa this weekend as he considers a presidential bid, apologized to Bill Clinton. It was right after “Hillarycare,” the health reform plan championed by Clinton’s wife, went down in flames. (snip) Not so, the senator says. “If I run, I would like to win. OKLAHOMA CITY — A GOP state legislator and the chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party are standing behind anti-Muslim remarks the lawmaker posted to his Facebook page, and both said Thursday they have no plans to apologize. Leaders with several civil rights organizations have called for state Rep. John Bennett, R-Sallisaw, to apologize after he posted a comment to his Facebook page urging people, especially Christians, to “be wary of the individuals who claim to be Muslim-American.” Bennett also said in his post that the Islamic holy book, the Quran, calls for the killing of non-Muslims. Michelle Obama hasn’t given any indication that she’ll run for political office, but Sen. Mark Kirk is suggesting otherwise. The Illinois Republican sent a fund-raising letter to supporters referring to the “press and rumor mills” that Obama may run for Kirk’s Senate seat in 2016. The letter was first reported by the Chicago-Sun Times and confirmed by Kirk’s office. Kirk even compares Obama’s potential run to speculation in 1999 over whether then-First Lady Hillary Clinton would run for the Senate. She eventually did. So is Kirk looking for supporters to connect the dots?

Here is a multiple-choice question. See if you can get it right. Asking for advice from Dick Cheney on foreign policy is as sensible as: A. Getting advice from Anthony Weiner on appropriate texting B. Asking Ted Cruz for counsel on the virtues of silence C. Expecting Vladimir Putin to say he’s sorry D. All of the above OK, the answer—(D)—is pretty obvious. Maybe too obvious. Maybe this subject is so plainly straw-mannish that it’s not even worth writing about. We should be learning from our past mistakes, not repeating them,” Reid, D-Nev., said on the Senate floor Wednesday. “They’ve got to be really careful with advice they take from Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney is more responsible than anyone else for the worst foreign policy decision in the history of the country -- the invasion of Iraq,” Reid said.

Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

Check your hygiene privilege. Cabbies who smell badly are probably just oppressed folks who came directly from their terrorist training camp to the airport and didn’t have time to change. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
