State Department taps
Texas lawyer to serve as
‘America’s ambassador to Muslims’

Washington Post, by Michelle Boorstein

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 8/30/2014 1:18:12 PM

Is there a tougher job description than Shaarik Zafar’s? As the State Department’s new special representative to Muslim communities, the boyish-looking Texas lawyer is America’s ambassador to Muslims around the world during a summer of nonstop grim headlines from Gaza, Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq. All are places where his brand is not, let’s say, wildly popular. Having just spent a decade working for domestic federal agencies, primarily with fellow Muslims, on topics that include civil rights violations, police surveillance and Transportation Security Administration screening, Zafar knows the deal.

Comments:
0bama, obviously bored by world terror threats by Muslims, sends someone else to negotiate. One thing is clear to me. The Koran can be interpreted to mean what the person pointing the bigger gun at his own people says.

This action tells the Muslims they have won. They get a "Embassador" for what? So America can find a way to accede to their demands for a mosque every 10 blocks, five prayer breaks a day during work hours, and separate bathrooms, not to mention special diets?

The very premise of this idea makes me sick to my stomach. This is America. How about an Embassador to the Christian community? To the Jewish community?

Whathefarg is going on here?

"Ambassadors" must receive Senate approval. With that being said it is important to know if Zafar has all the rights and privileges of an Ambassador or if he is just a personal representative of either the State Department or the President. Is he an officer within the government or a private citizen? Whose behalf is he speaking for?

Barack Obama, whose faith is Muslim (he told us so by saying the words out of his own mouth) is standing with the Muslims as he said in "his book" that he would do.

Question: When he said "my Muslim faith" does it count since he was not reading a Teleprompter telling him what to say?

Istanbul, Turkey - American journalist Steven Sotloff began his last journey into Syria with a surprise gift for his fixer, Yosef Abobaker. It was a small camera. (Snip) Then came the real surprise for the two men: about 15 masked ISIS gunmen jumped out of three cars and took them captive, beginning a dark tale that eventually led to Abobaker´s release, but ended in Sotloff´s beheading. In an interview with CNN this week, Abobaker provided a detailed account of how he, Sotloff and three armed guards were abducted in Syria by ISIS fighters in August 2013, but since then, never once did U.S. officials try to interview Abobaker about

Washington - The current threat posed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, will test not only the resolve and strategic judgment of America and its allies, but also our nation’s fidelity to a basic constitutional principle. Our Constitution reserves to Congress the power to declare war and designates our president as the commander in chief, but our recent history has been characterized by executive overreach and legislative abdication in the initiation of military action. The current crisis gives us an opportunity to restore the proper balance between the branches. America’s history since 2001 should compel us to fix the way

Washington - Militants for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria have traveled to Mexico and are just miles from the United States. They plan to cross over the porous border and will “imminently” launch car bomb attacks. And the threat is so real that federal law enforcement officers have been placed at a heightened state of alert, and an American military base near the border has increased its security. As the Obama administration and the American public have focused their attention on ISIS in recent weeks, conservative groups and leading Republicans have issued stark warnings like those that ISIS and other extremists from Syria

The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked?
