NEWPORT, R.I. — President Obama dropped into the City by the Sea Friday to spend a summer evening at a lavish seaside estate where he held company with members of the state’s top Democratic echelon and those willing to offer up as much as $32,000 to attend. The fundraising event for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee attracted about 60 guests to Seafair, the rocky shoreline home of Richard Bready, former Nortek chief executive officer, and Betty Easton. And if any of the dinner guests took a particular shine to the Ocean Drive citadel as they enjoyed their plates of prime sirloin

Why don´t these bleeding hearts do us all a favor and just send the check! Let the President stay in Washington and do his job (how many times do you need the same story)

They could save the tax payer the cost of Air Force One, Security, local disruption etc
We do borrow 30 cents of every dollar the Federal Government spends. It is a interest only loan (bond) that will never be paid back!
Never paid back, think about it!

N.B. "Little Rhody" aka Rhode Island is a heavily unionized, ´RAT, state.
It´s also going, if it hasn´t already, bankrupt. As is the capital, Providence, and a small town called Central Falls.
Probably others. Reason? Usually pension obligations.

Rather sad that the president who has never taken a science class, who believes that what we exhale is a toxin, who sees NASA´s primary mission as Muslim outreach and who has an EPA head who wants "environmental justice", vilifies people who simply want honest cost/benefit analysis. Even sadder, there were business executives in the audience willing to pay $32,500 to listen to this leftist spewing this nonsense.

Plutocrats giving vast sums to the Democrats are undermining America and preparing grief for their own descendants. It has truly been said that some people have more money than they know what to do with - and also that in many cases, more money than brains.

I wish some of these philanthropic do-gooders would write their checks to the IRS instead of trying to front-load Congress with socialist representatives.

The forecast is for people, and lots of them. The People’s Climate March is expected to bring more than 100,000 people who want to save the planet to the city Sunday. The march to address climate change, billed as the largest in history, is occurring two days before President Obama and world leaders attend a summit dealing with the same issue at the United Nations. U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon — who has fought passionately against global warming — along with celebrities, CEOs and activists are expected to descend on the city for the massive event.
