Ferguson Fizzles
National Review Online, by Charles C.W. Cooke

During the Great Depression, the Communist scribes at the Daily Worker were forever assuring the more skeptical among their colleagues that the heroic spark was near. Having read about a “small riot somewhere in rural Minnesota,” Whittaker Chambers recorded in Witness, Robert Minor started shouting about “the beginning of the American revolution.” If the paper wished to capitalize upon dissatisfaction and spin it into insurrection and change, Minor proposed, it would need the staff to keep an eye out for the tell-tale sign and, then, to “play it up big.” Over the past month, the events in Ferguson, Mo., have played

How about that August is a slow news month and the media thinks they have to report something. Just review past August´s.

I´m sure the media could think up lots of stories for a slow news month such as----How many times Obama has praised the American People rather than beat them down. How many tees he´s broken on the golf course this month. How many times he´s lied this month. Does he really wear "mom jeans" Etc.

It´s hard to keep the media narrative going when decent citizens can see for themselves that there is no real outrage, but only a bunch of gimmedats looking to get more free stuff and destroying their own neighborhoods. The narrative goes further south when those who burned down the businesses start complaining about not having anywhere nearby to shop and demand that tax payers rebuild for them, "or else". And then there´s the truth trickling out about the Gentle Giant, the latest of which is a possible arrest for a gang related second degree murder.

So the real lesson of Ferguson should be to point out and highlight the glaring pattern of exploitation on the part of this administration. When you see the lengths they will go to insert themselves and direct their lap-dog, ring-kissing, knee-pad, talking-points-obedient media to promote the BIG LIE in this situation and others it should put to bed any doubts there may have been with Trayvon Martin! In both cases they tried to make them out as little boy saints. I have no doubt that this is the politics of division at work here on the part of communist radicals who will stop at nothing to foment controversy, unrest and violence to divide and conquer in their continuing effort to weaken the United States both internally and externally any way they can. Pay no attention to what they say, look at what they do. We first saw it with Henry Louis Gates Jr. screaming “Racism” at the top of his lungs for a 100% fabricated incident that was so obvious it was laughable. The next chapter in this particular horrible nightmare will be their attempt to destroy Darrin´s marriage, finances, reputation and life in general to reinforce their BIG LIE, simply because someone who did his job and defended himself just happened to be White. At the end of the day all about racism, even if they have to fabricate it any way possible! And with that I have no doubt that the Carney s still have their communist worker posters hanging in their kitchen...

Sadly, I must admit I´m deeply disappointed that civilization is returning to Ferguson. I was so sure that the White mobs were just being polite and allowing the Blacks to go first.

I was certain the citizens "just knew" that Officer Derrron Wilson has been or was going to be "railroaded" into charges of hunting down and wantonly killing that "gentle giant" of a teenager who was just getting some cigars to take to his poor infirm grandmother.

I was waiting for these aggrieved persons to take to the streets and burn down the local news paper, the local TV station, and then loot the local Walmart of all the school supplies their children were entitled to before starting back to class to learn more about how the Black people had been exploited ever since slavery.

Apparently when the Blacks ran out of gas (pun intended) and the MSM packed up and left, the followers of Officer Wilson decided it was a bad idea. Since their were no cameras to spread their discontent beyond the city limits they stayed home. /tic /sarc

The denouement is always the same - - -

• Young, invincible thug makes the mistake of picking on a guy who has a gun.

• Young, invincible thug winds up dead in the street.

• Leftist media and "community organizers" concoct hagiography of young thug.

• Facts emerge which reveal what he was - - just another young thug.

• Narrative is swept down the memory hole.

But - - you won´t have to hold your breath very long - - the same old same-old will pretty soon be happening again.

megan Kelly last night did a review of the case, and in an otherwise good job, dropped the ball when she interviewed Dr. Baden, who did the second autopsy on Michael the archangel.
When Baden and his non M.D. assistant held the press conference, Baden let the assistant do most of the talking. And the assistant held open the possibility that the shot to the head came from behind. Baden last night made it clear that the shot came from the front, but the scummy lawyers at the press conference immediately said that the shot came from behind. ANd Baden and his assistant did not correct that statement..

The race baiters are always willing to travel to any destination to gin up unrest. They are ever present to stir the pot but do not want to address the real problems in the black community. On the other hand, where are the black leaders who understand the problems and are willing to go into those communities and speak truthfully to these young people. They could be of great influence if they would make it a priority to come together with other successful black leaders and make a real effort to change lives. They know the way out of the ghetto life and it would be effective.

Of course it fizzled, there was actually a video of a 300 pound criminal stealing from a store and abusing an employee who was trying to stop him.

Then a policeman shot this this 300 pound fool when he charged him and who wouldn´t stop after repeated warnings.

Then all the race hustlers came to town and tried to get the population to riot. Nice touch, except the race hustlers are boring, irritating and you can´t understand a word they say. This is Obamas America.

After the MSM presented inflammatory coverage night after night, as mobs demanded the lynching of the Police Officer, and all the so called Civil Rights Grievance committee members (Sharpton, Jackson, Ogaltree and the NAACP) proved they do not believe in the Rule of Law and that a suspect (?) is innocent until proven innocent.

Now the poll comes out and Americans are not buying the Gentle Mike story.

The story fizzles because the White House was not getting the polling they wanted, it was hurting them.

The White House kept this going as long as it could, hoping it would spread to other cities like it did in the late 60´s. When that didn´t happen, it needed to be shut down because the American public is disgusted by the behavior of its fellow minority citizens.

In WH speak, it was bad optics.

I guess all of us racist racists are too doggone racist to grasp the fact that Saint Bigmike´s promising career was cut short by a racist police officer´s racist bullets.

That Saint Bigmike´s career was one of undisguised, brazen, violent, predatory crime matters not at all to us racist racists.

If we racist racists were only less racist, perhaps we racist racists would understand that, underneath all of the beatings, stealing, intimidation and violence perpetrated by Saint Bigmike and Saint Trayvon lay the purity, goodness and godliness of Saint Bigmike and Saint Trayvon.

Shame on us racist racists.

Honestly? I think there has to be video out there of the whole thing. Everything gets videotaped these days and I think there´s proof of everything the police said happened.

Now that doesn´t mean whoever took it (like that girl who said she started recording after Brown was lying in the street ... right) didn´t erase parts of it in order to keep the narrative safe. But Ferguson was a loser for the administration in all kinds of optics, so it´s not surprising they´re throwing other things at the wall to distract once again.

Have heard the main stream media intone several times that everything calmed down in Ferguson when Eric Holder made a pit stop there. Seems to me that everything calmed down in Ferguson when the video of the store robbery was released and when we heard about the police officer´s damaged eye socket.

It was Holder´s DOJ that refused to release the store video earlier -- when it might have prevented the riots altogether. Did DOJ and the White House want the riots? Who paid for the bus and plane tickets for the outside agitators (or should I say carpet baggers) who were the worst of the rioters? I´m just sayin´ . . .

SALEM, N.H. — Voters have soured on President Obama. National and statewide trends favor Republicans. And here in his new home state, Scott Brown’s truck is gaining speed. Analysts and recent polls have found Brown closing in on US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Democratic incumbent he is vying to unseat, in a race that has become increasingly nasty and expensive. Once largely dismissed by critics as an unlikely second act in a state he moved to only last year, Brown’s Senate bid is increasingly seen as a plausible path back to the US Capitol. Observers see a race that may be largely determined

A new study from Johns Hopkins University suggests exactly what many conservative activists have been complaining about for years: Washington is out of touch with the rest of America. From Johns Hopkins: Surveying 850 people who either work in government or directly with it, researchers found that the inside-the-Beltway crowd has very little in common with America at large. Washington insiders are more likely to be white. They are more educated. Their salaries are higher, they vote more and have more faith in the fairness of elections. They are probably Democrat and liberal. They more diligently follow the news. And they think

America is silently acquiescing to President Obama’s extraordinarily expensive and flawed plan to fight Ebola in West Africa. Tuesday, Obama announced he is committing $763 million dollars and 3,000 military personnel to taming the outbreak that so far has killed 2,400 people. Though help is urgently needed there, the plan does too little to protect Americans. Obama said nothing about temporarily banning commercial air travel between the U.S. and West Africa, in order to help prevent Ebola from coming here. Some 220,000 residents of West African countries have visas that permit them to enter the United States.

Late yesterday, the Kansas supreme court granted the writ of mandamus filed by former Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Chad Taylor and ordered Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach to remove Taylor’s name from the November ballot. But the controversy may not yet be over because of another writ filed by a Democratic voter. The court dismissed Kobach’s claim (explained in an earlier NRO post) that Taylor failed to comply with the state statute (K.S.A. 25-306b(b)) that requires a candidate who wants to withdraw to certify that “they are incapable of fulfilling the duties of office if elected.” Taylor sent a letter

Based on interviews with DNC staffers -- both former and current -- the piece described Wasserman Schultz as something of a modern-day Tracy Flick: over-eager, disloyal and not shy about promoting her ambitions. Flashes of disagreement over how to fight the Islamic State are mounting between President Obama and U.S. military leaders, the latest sign of strain in what often has been an awkward and uneasy relationship. Even as the administration has received congressional backing for its strategy, with the Senate voting Thursday to approve a plan to arm and train Syrian rebels, a series of military leaders have criticized the president’s approach against the Islamic State militant group. Retired Marine Gen. James Mattis, who served under Obama until last year, became the latest high-profile skeptic on Thursday, telling the House Intelligence Committee

The man who was the top Marine general from 2006 until his retirement in 2010 says President Barack Obama’s strategy to defeat the terrorist group the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria is doomed to fail. “I don’t think the president’s plan has a snowball’s chance in hell of succeeding,” retired Marine General James Conway, who served as the 34th Commandant of the Marine Corps during the end of the Bush administration and the beginning of the Obama administration, said at the Maverick PAC Conference in Washington, D.C. That rare respiratory illness sickening children around the country continues to crop up in new places. It has been confirmed in 22 states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday, appearing in three states where it had not been previously: Georgia, Michigan and Washington state. These children are facing an uncommon enterovirus strain. While enteroviruses in general are quite common, this particular strain — enterovirus 68 — has not cropped up terribly often since it was first identified in 1962. It can cause severe breathing problems, a particular danger for children who may suffer from asthma or other

Shawn Donovan, director of the Office of Management and Budget, said on Friday that if you don’t believe in climate change and support federal spending to fight it, you believe the earth is flat. “The failure to invest in climate solutions and climate preparedness doesn’t get you membership in a fiscal conservatives caucus,” Donovan said at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C. “It makes you a member of the Flat Earth Society.” Donovan, who formerly ran the Department of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama, is now in charge of the arm of the executive branch

The U.S Senate passed a bill Thursday evening that will give President Barack Obama the authority to arm moderate Syrian rebels, which is a key part of his plan to fight the jihadist group Islamic State (also known as ISIS and ISIL). Shortly after the Senate passed the bill, which was passed by the House on Wednesday, Obama spoke from the White House. "I´m pleased that Congress, a majority of Democrats and a majority of Republicans in both the House and Senate, have now voted to support a key element of our strategy," Obama said. Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

On Thursday In a session with the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Secretary of State John Kerry was asked by Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) whether America was at war in Iraq and Syria. (Video) Kerry responded: “If you’re more comfortable calling it a war against this enemy of Islam then please do so. We’re happy to call it that.” So its official: America is at war with the enemy of Islam. However, strange bedfellows arise if the Obama administration so chooses to uphold Kerry’s claim that we are at war with the enemy(s) of Islam. The following displays that Secretary

The French did for President Obama on Friday what they refused to do for his predecessor — they joined the fight in Iraq. Two Rafale fighter planes armed with laser-guided bombs “entirely destroyed” an Islamic State munitions depot and killed dozens of ISIS fighters, making France the first coalition country to make good on its promise to battle the murderous militants. “Other operations will follow in the coming days with the same goal — to weaken this terrorist organization and come to the aid of the Iraqi authorities,” French President Francois Hollande vowed. The French famously said “non” in 2003 when President Bush
