He’s already a famous surgeon and

with a longshot presidential bid?

DES MOINES — Ben Carson sees bullies everywhere. Maybe that’s what happens after years of being walloped by stronger kids, and ridiculed by the smarter ones at his inner-city schools in Boston and Detroit. The bullying is central to the stories Carson tells about himself. Onstage here today in Iowa, where all presidential campaigns begin, he starts with a tale about studying hard enough to best his tormentors. “I went from the bottom of the class to the top of the class, much to the consternation of the students who called me ‘dummy,’ ” he says with a grin. “Now

Because he loves his country and is willing/able to give out of his homegrown knowledge of what is vitally important for this country, he loves! Enough said!

I like Dr. Carson a lot. So I just went to the library to start reading his books and viewing some DVDs.
If he jumps in I want to know about him from him, not the lame stream, biased, losers; but I repeat myself.

I can listen to the guy all day long and I can read his opinions all day long, too. But he has absolutely no managerial, political, foreign affairs experience. Everyone we enjoy hearing and agree with shouldn´t necessarily be our choice to run the country.

In fact Dr. Carson DOES have managerial and political experience. He was head of pediatric neurosurgery at a major teaching hospital! If you think that does not involve politics and management, you don´t know the medical profession; especially surgeons. He also has a manner which is very like Ronald Reagan in many ways. Besides which, if blacks are looking for a role model, he is an excellent one.

One does not need to have "foreign policy" experience if one has a set of clear principles, plus goals he wants to achieve. Policy wonks are a blight on the land.

Part of the problem we have now is too many professional politicians and "policy experts", etc., most of whom lack common sense, a grasp of basic human nature, and the ability to see what is plain to everyone else who is paying attention while living and working outside of the New York-DC, media/gov´t/consultant cocoon.

So are we saying that Obama had managerial, political and foreign affairs experience? And Las Vegas may say he´s a longshot, but what were the odds on Obama 2 years before he was elected?

I have read Carson´s two latest books. I´d vote for him in a minute!

I´m surprised the WaPo didn´t come right out say what they clearly believe. Black people should never ever be conservatives and/or Republicans. White liberals demand blacks "know their place" and as far as liberals are concerned that´s the Democrat Party.

He has no political, nor managerial experience outside, perhaps of his department at Johns Hopkins. However, he could very well serve in the cabinet as head of HHS, or as Surgeon General. Or perhaps as Vice President. That position would give him the training and experience to be President in four to eight years.

Dr. Carson is principled, a true man of his word. His life story authenticates exactly how he chooses to live his life, serve others, his wisdom and his many outstanding accomplishments. He is thus well liked and appreciated for his leadership by those who have worked with and for him, those who know him best. He loves America the Beautiful and the Liberty secured in the U.S. Constitution for every American citizen. He is trusted.

Snarky article, but then I would expect no less from the WaPo.
The comments in the WaPo comment section are filled with the kind of progressive stupidity and misdirected anger you´d also expect from WaPo readers.
What saddens me is comments in Lucianne.com rejecting the idea of a Carson candidacy out of hand from posters I had always assumed were like-minded.
Obama had ZERO experience before running for office. Carson has a wealth of experience compared to the Organizer-in-Chief and Carson is of a common mind with us.
Why summarily reject him?

On Sept. 12th, Jennifer Whalen, a 39-year-old mother of three in the rural town of Washingtonville, Pa., went to jail to begin serving a 9-to-18-month sentence. Whalen’s crime was, in effect, ordering pills online that her older daughter took in the first several weeks of an unplanned pregnancy, when she was 16, to induce a miscarriage. The medication was a combination of mifepristone (formerly called RU-486) and misoprostol. The drugs have been available from a doctor with a prescription in the United States since 2000 and are used around the world to induce miscarriage. Recent research increasingly suggests that early

It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.

The march to address climate change, billed as the largest in history, is occurring two days before President Obama and world leaders attend a summit dealing with the same issue at the United Nations.
