Katie Couric accused Diane Sawyer

new book claims

New York Daily News, by Don Kaplan and Corky Siemaszko

Katie Couric cultivated an “American Girl identity” but she was also a bully with a “chip on her shoulder.” Diane Sawyer strived to be “America’s Aunt” but she rode her staff hard and used “staged humility” to disarm critics. Christiane Amanpour was fearless in the field and would remind her bosses, “Do you know that I’m the world’s best-known foreign correspondent?” And, when feeling threatened, these pioneering, primetime newswomen would sometimes bare their claws at each other, according to a tell-all book that goes on sale next month. When Couric found out Sawyer landed a much sought-after interview with a 57-year-old woman who had

I could not care less about their petty lives.

When viewers judge women by how pretty their legs are or how big their boobs are, they get what they deserve. I am so tired of seeing the swinging legs and the bouncing boobs on "stars" whether they be anchors or movie stars! They can be dumb as clams but if they have boobs or slender legs, everyone pays attention to them no matter what they say. Sounds as if these three harridans act like TV reality stars behind the scenes.

Surprised Ms C said that about Ms S and not D Muir. She is quite the cat, that one. Always thought she was a pissy little bwitch. Never liked her.

Panola Pepper Corporation was started for all the right reasons. Located in the town of Lake Providence in Louisiana’s East Carroll Parish, the hot sauce company has been providing employment to those who live in one of the nation’s poorest areas. Year after year, East Carroll Parish ranks among the top 10 U.S. counties with the highest poverty rates. Time magazine once named the town of Lake Providence the “poorest place in America.” Founded in 1983, Panola Pepper began as a wintertime business to give farm workers income during the three-month gap between the planting and harvest seasons. Through the fall of 2011, the main question facing the American military in Iraq was what our role would be now that combat operations were over. When President Obama announced the end of our combat mission in August 2010, he acknowledged that we would maintain troops for a while. Now that the deadline was upon us, however, it was clear to me—and many others—that withdrawing all our forces would endanger the fragile stability then barely holding Iraq together.

On September 16, President Obama visited the headquarters of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The agency is the lead organization in the federal government´s efforts to prevent the introduction and spread of the Ebola virus into the United States, and Obama used his remarks there to update Americans on those efforts. The chances of an Ebola outbreak in the United States are "extremely low," Obama said. U.S. are working with officials in Africa "to increase screening at airports so that someone with the virus doesn´t get on a plane for the United States." And then this: In the

Today marks the one-year anniversary for Obamacare’s health exchanges—which have helped more than 7 million people across the country enroll in health coverage. And while Obamacare’s marketplace is settling in for its second year, serious issues are cropping up that could potentially derail the entire health care law leaving millions without affordable health coverage. The first potential problem deals with funding for the law’s crucial risk corridor program, which protects insurers from major losses. Insurers who agree to sell policies on the new exchanges are compensated for if they incur heavy losses during the first few years of Obamacare’s implementation.

I must say, there’s something about the way accused White House intruder Omar Gonzalez is constantly described in the media that bothers me. I keep hearing him called “Army veteran Omar Gonzalez.” It’s true he’s an Army veteran. So I’m not disputing the fact. But I have a little trouble with the relevance. I know there is a cottage industry out there trying to hype up the threat of returning vets as the real source of domestic terrorism (we all remember the DHS-report controversy). But it’s worth noting that Gonzalez’s alleged motivation was to tell the president the atmosphere is

A large section of the Aral Sea has completely dried up for the first time in modern history, according to Nasa. Images from the US space agency’s Terra satellite released last week show that the eastern basin of the Central Asian inland sea – which stretched across Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and was once the fourth largest in the world – was totally parched in August. Images taken in 2000 show an extensive body of water covering the same area. “This is the first time the eastern basin has completely dried in modern times,” Philip Micklin, a geographer emeritus from Western Michigan University

At least since the early part of the 20th century, aside from oil, the Arab world has produced and exported two products. It has produced essentially no technology, medicine or anything else in the world of science. It has almost no contributions to world literature, art or to intellectual development. According to the most recent United Nations Arab Human Development Reports (2003-2005), written by Arab intellectuals, Greece, with a population of 11 million, annually translates five times more books from English than the entire Arab world, population 370 million. Nor is this a new development. The total number of books translated into

Hispanic voters were a key part of the coalition that elected President Obama, but lately the demographic has soured on him. Obama’s weekly approval among Hispanics dipped to 45 percent during the period ended Sept. 28, according to Gallup, and it has remained below 50 percent for the past five weeks. While support for Obama is higher among Hispanics than the overall population, the cushion he had is diminishing as he enters the second half of his presidency. In early 2013, around the beginning of his second term, Gallup reported that Hispanic approval of Obama was 74 percent, compared with 51 percent

The Secret Service is a joke. That´s harsh, I know – and it´s unfair to Secret Service agents who unflinchingly risk their lives for the president and for their country. But it´s true, and it needs to be fixed. Here´s how. First, fire director Julia Pierson. Her agency covered up a 2011 incident in which shots were fired at the White House, when one of President Obama´s daughters could have been killed. Her agency allowed a mentally ill Iraq war veteran to rampage through the White House with a knife. Her agency permitted a security contractor with a gun and three

In educational conversation, when you mention the words “charter schools,” people tend to either love them or hate them. Unfortunately, either way, the handwriting is on the smart board. A recent survey found only 46 of 925 high-poverty New York City public schools, where most students are minorities, had even a meager 50 percent passing rate. That in itself is a big story, but the bigger story here is that of the 46 schools, 23 were charters. Of course, the United Federation of Teachers and UFT-funded parent groups are screaming foul. They say that charters can be selective in their student population by

President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The Obama administration found itself scrambling on Tuesday to defend President Barack Obama for his lackluster 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings, a finding from a new report issued by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI). When asked about the GAI revelation on Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered and unprepared. "Well, I have no validation of those statistics," said Psaki. The quintessential question of Watergate was “what did the President know and when did he know it?” Obamagate, the vast scandal that encompasses an entire presidency, offers a preemptive answer. President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus
