BLOOMFIELD — The family of the man Bloomfield police fatally shot said on Thursday that the officers rushed onto the property without knocking on the door and did not immediately provide medical assistance to the wounded man, who was unarmed. Police said they were responding to a domestic dispute call on Wednesday afternoon and were confronted by a man with a deadly weapon. John J. Rogers, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead late Wednesday morning in the San Juan Regional Medical Center emergency room. A police spokesman said the officers were not injured. Comments:
You will note that the "unarmed" man was native American. Racial tensions here, especially between the police and the Navajo population is very tense. This has the potential to explode, another Michael Brown situation. The comments by family members are despicable. The "witnesses", all family were not even there!

To comment now, without more information, puts me in the same category as the MSM, and activists; nonetheless, I am going to guess he has a long rap sheet, and probably a history of mental illness.

I am also going to guess this is going nowhere in the media, as there is no reliably democratic voting bloc to stir up.

Unfortunately, the scenario is all too familiar, and could be the result of the shoot first mentality employed by police now. IF they showed up unannounced and rushed in to confront the guy rather than verbally engage him, this could happen.

Again unfortunately, though I used to be a believer in the police, the ´´bad apples´´ have eroded the my and many in the public´s trust. No-knock raids, a reliance on weaponry rather than de-escalation, militarization of tactics and mentality. It´s sad...

The malware that caused a major breach for Target has struck again. Authorities are investigating the malware, known as "Backoff" that may have been found on the computer systems of some Dairy Queen restaurants. “We have been working on the situation for a couple of days," said Dean Peters, media spokesman for the Minneapolis-based fast-food chain. "The protection of customer data is a top priority for us and our franchisees, and we take it seriously. We, like many other companies, were recently notified that customer data at a limited number of stores may be at risk, due to the widespread

BLOOMFIELD — City councilors unanimously voted on Wednesday to appeal a federal judge´s ruling stating a monument at City Hall inscribed with the Ten Commandments is unconstitutional. The city plans to appeal the judge´s decision to a three-judge panel with the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver. The 10th Circuit has territorial jurisdiction in six states — New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. Senior U.S. District Judge James A. In June, in a sparsely populated county in northern New Mexico, a primary election surprisingly unseated an incumbent County Commissioner. No one seemed to notice. But, apparently, high-ranking Democrats to the north were paying attention. The northern New Mexico county is Mora. The high-ranking Democrats: from Colorado. The election upset was about Mora County´s oil-and-gas drilling ban. In April 2013, the Mora County Commission voted, 2 to 1, and passed the first-in-the-nation county-wide ban on all oil-and-gas drilling. It was spearheaded by Commission Chairman John Olivas—an environmental activist. Since then, two lawsuits have been filed against the little county because

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Demonstrators say they’re planning another protest at an Albuquerque Hobby Lobby. They’re protesting a U.S. Supreme Court decision made last month. The court says Hobby Lobby does not have to provide birth control coverage to employees. That’s because it violates the religious beliefs of the family who owns the privately-held company. The rally is set to take place at the store on Wyoming this evening from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.

George Herman “Babe” Ruth played his first Major League Baseball game 100 years ago Friday, marking the beginning of a legendary career and legacy that lasted decades. One hundred years after Ruth took to the Fenway Park mound and tossed seven innings against the Cleveland Naps, he is still known to any Pee Wee league player trying to break in a glove today as simply, "The Babe." Ruth, who was 19 and, according to one teammate, looked like a "big overgrown pea" at the start of the game, went on to play for 22 years, 15 of those with the

Along with piteous pictures of children flooding across our borders and being distributed across the country courtesy of US taxpayers come disease vectors. Maybe flying them around to various parts of the country isn’t the smartest idea. NBC News reports: A border patrol agent was diagnosed with scabies after processing undocumented immigrants in Otay Mesa, California, the agent´s union representative said. Ronald Zermeno, health and safety director for the National Border Control Council union, said the agent told him that he observed several people with open sores while screening them in preparation to be released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

When the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” passed, the end of doctor-patient confidentiality was predictable -- but we could not have expected it to happen this soon. ObamaCare, with the aid of hospitals, insurers, banks, and private data managers, is initiating a program to track store and credit card purchases to see if people are telling the truth about their lifestyle choices. Some troubling realities have been revealed in a recent Bloomberg article. First, the idea that the hospitals, at government direction, are doing it for our own good so it’s okay. President Obama in his ISIS speech did his best to convince the American people that things are under control, that he will pursue a coalition with other nations to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIS and that he will do it only through air strikes. (Snip) When Obama declared he had no strategy yet on ISIS a few weeks ago he was perceived as a weak and indecisive leader, but is that all the reason for his reluctance to fight ISIS? Or are there other, hidden reasons why Obama does not want to destroy ISIS? Reluctance and refusal to go to war,

Hillary Clinton has revealed that she worked through her husband’s affair whilst he was President by making him go through an agonising ´truth and reconciliation´ process. The former US Secretary of State said that she forced Bill Clinton into South Africa-style hearings where he had to be completely honest before she forgave him. She said she was inspired by the country´s former leader Nelson Mandela and that she had to act otherwise she would remain in a mental ´prison´ for the rest of her life. Mrs Clinton, 66, has rarely spoken about her husband’s infidelity with White House intern Monica

Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

Even someone as savvy about everything as Michelle Obama sometimes flubs an outfit — or to put it more politely, wears something that doesn’t enhance her natural attractions. Which is not to say that’s all that matters about the first lady, who’s been busy with a variety of public events this week: registering voters in Georgia, cutting the ribbon on the renovated White House Visitors Center, commemorating the 9/11 terrorist attacks, even appearing in a videotaped shout-out to Prince Harry. Take a look at what she wore for all that. A little too full for her figure? (Photographs).. A flattering

This week, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slandered a group of Middle Eastern Christians who were trying to raise awareness of their struggle to avoid a genocide in the Middle East. His cynical grandstanding was rightly condemned — but he was hardly alone. Cruz agreed to speak to this group, which included bishops of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, ostensibly out of solidarity, but took the occasion to antagonize them over their insufficient praise for Israel, then smeared them as anti-Semites before dropping the mic. The Washington Free Beacon publicized this flameout — their publisher said the room

SAN DIEGO — African-American elementary students in California were chronically truant at nearly four times the rate of all students during the last school year, according to a state report released Friday. The report by the California Attorney General´s office is the first time the data has been broken down according to race and income levels. Officials say such data is needed to address the problem. Poverty and suspensions are contributing factors. Overall, more than 250,000 elementary school students missed 10 percent or more of the 2013-2014 school year or roughly 18 or more school days. Check your hygiene privilege. Cabbies who smell badly are probably just oppressed folks who came directly from their terrorist training camp to the airport and didn’t have time to change. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
