We Need to Do More Than Win an Election
Rush Limbaugh Show, by Rush Limbaugh

Original Article

Posted By:JoElla Bee, 8/28/2014 7:18:06 PM

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, get this. A story from Politico, an exclusive in the Politico. "A detailed report commissioned by two major Republican groups,"which means somebody, or both, in these two major Republican groups had to leak this to The Politico. Otherwise, how would The Politico know? [Snip]This story, this Politico story makes it look like the GOP is screwed with all women. And if you read deeper, you find out why all women disapprove of and don´t like the Republican Party. Do you know why? Tea Party social conservatism. Tea Party social conservatism is killing the Republican

Comments:
So, the poll supposedly shows that Tea Party social conservatism is the reason women hate the Republican Party? Something about this smells a lot like Mississippi.

The message from Karl Rove is that the Republican Party needs to be anti-God, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage and pro-amnesty for RINOs to win.

It is so nice to be able to see through all these cute little tricks Rove and company try to pull off. It´s doubly-nice to know that such a big chunk of conservative Republicans are no longer fooled. Yes, yes, yes. Ever since Reagan, we have had establishment big government Republicans running the show, yet everything is the Tea Party´s fault.

Actually, Limbaugh make my point, in a round about way. As I said here yesterday . . .,

Forward thinking Tea Party types realize that holding our noses and voting for the current crop of R´s up for election/reelection are ´enabling´ the status quo . . ., in other words, the R´s will change NOTHING, which will cause the R´s to lose the House, Senate, and Whitehouse in 2016.

That why we should burn down the Republican party NOW. Things will get so bad by 2016 (without R´s help), that even the stupid voters will realize we need a change back to conservatism.

#4: If that´s the case, it will be so whether the R´s are in control of the House and Senate, or not.

The country will not be able to sustain the entitlements, and we´ll be like Argentina is now; however, I believe there´s enough conservatives, ie., hard working American spirited people whom remember HOW to create things, and turn a country around.

"...when we come to grips with the knowledge that photographs like this have been taken millions of times on this fearsome globe, we will begin to realize that these family snapshots carry with them the unspoken premises that compel the Conservative vision of Life -- and whose successes in turn prepare the groundwork for perpetuating yet another generation’s beautiful dreams -- for which Conservatism can stand only as the dutiful midwife.

Don´t tell me there isn´t hope to turn this around if we stand for what Glenn Fairman calls the "moral necessity" of Conservatism presented in this family picture linked above and in his wonderful piece here: http://americanthinker.com/2014/08/conservatisms_family_snapshot.html

And posted here at L.com: http://www.lucianne.com/thread/?artnum=798787

Glenn Fairman lays out in Conservatism´s Family Snapshot what Rush alludes to in his dialog. If we want to win, we have to return to building lives grounded in the Conservative principles and values that made America the greatest nation on earth. We cannot sell our soul to the devil by joining leftists in embracing the very things that are "fundamentally transforming" and destroying our beloved Constitutional Republic and the American Ideal. We need to do more than win an election.

I respectfully disagree with poster # 3/6/7. The entitlements won´t disappear overnight. It will be a gradual thing, over a decade or more, with our masters in Washington doing all they can to forestall some final day of reckoning.

By then the percentage of a diluted and polluted electorate dependent on government for survival will be overwhelming. And they will do what such people can be expected to do: follow a demagogue who offers them a convenient scapegoat for their clueless misery. That scapegoat will be you and I, friend, and all those like us who still retain some lingering memory of a constitutional republic.

Like most things I read from Rush, this is a convoluted mess, yet there may be a kernel of truth in it.

Margaret Thatcher said that first you win the argument and then you win the election.

Conservatives need a leader who can persuade the electorate that conservative policies make sense. Social conditions today are no worse than the were in the UK during the 70´s, so it is possible.

Cleveland - James Traficant, the colorful Ohio politician whose conviction for taking bribes and kickbacks made him only the second person to be expelled from Congress since the Civil War, died Saturday. He was 73. Traficant was seriously injured Tuesday after a vintage tractor flipped over on him as he tried to park it inside a barn on the family farm near Youngstown. He died four days later in a Youngstown hospital, said Dave Betras, chairman of the Mahoning County Democratic Party. The Democrat´s expulsion from Congress in 2002 came three months after a federal jury in Cleveland convicted him.

DENVER - Hundreds of high school students in Colorado´s second-largest school district staged a walkout on Wednesday to protest proposed changes to a history curriculum that would stress patriotism and discourage civil disobedience. Student protesters marched outside schools waving placards bearing slogans such as: "My School, My Education, My Voice!" and "Don´t Make History a Mystery!" The demonstrations marked the third straight day of protests at six high schools in Jefferson County, a suburban Denver school district of 84,000 students. The controversy stems from proposed changes to an advanced placement history curriculum proposed by a school board member who was

PHOENIX — Video footage of Jodi Arias' Sept. 29 penalty phase retrial should be allowed to be broadcast 30 minutes after the end of each day's proceedings to afford the public their constitutional right to witness criminal trials, a media lawyer argued Monday. Arias was convicted of murder last year in the 2008 killing of her ex-boyfriend at his suburban Phoenix home, but jurors couldn't decide on her sentence. The retrial will determine if she gets the death penalty or life in prison. Arias' first trial was broadcast live, but Judge Sherry Stephens denied that right this time around, ruling that no footage could be broadcast until after the verdict.

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Dissent is the lowest form of crime. If you are a drone in the hive of the Left, it is possible — easy, in fact — to believe both of those things at the same time. Free speech just won an important victory in a federal courtroom, though it is shameful that the case ever even had to go to court. Ohio had enacted a plainly unconstitutional law that empowered a government panel to determine whether criticisms offered in political advertisements were sufficiently true to be permitted in the public discourse. For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory. The 2014 election is rapidly looking like something new
