Texas abuzz about possible

Associated Press, by Will Weissert

AUSTIN, Texas- Two Texans, one White House. Is the 2016 Republican campaign trail big enough? After plummeting from prime contender to political punchline three years ago, Gov. Rick Perry has spent months gearing up for a second run. And he´s turned his recent indictment on felony abuse-of-power charges into a campaign rallying cry. But even as Perry works to convince conservatives that he´ll be better at coping with the national spotlight this time, he´s increasingly bumping up against his state´s junior senator, tea party darling Ted Cruz, whose firebomb approach on Capitol Hill has grassroots activists clamoring for him to

No, Texas is not "abuzz" about any such thing. I´m still not convinced Rick Perry will run and I believe Cruz has a different goal from the Oval Office.

Remember, this hit piece is from the AP, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the DNC.

They will do anything to try to rile up discord among Republicans that they fear will take their power away from them.

Expect a lot more hit pieces like this over the next few months...

Different eyes see things differently: I didn´t view this article as being a HIT piece: Hyperbolic? Maybe, I don´t know.

Nonetheless, I am surprised that Jim DeMint, leader of the Heritage Foundation, whose Mission Statement subscribes to the notion of educating the public on constitutional principles, does not address Ted Cruz´s eligibility/ineligibility to run for the office of president of the USA, in accordance with the constitution; ie., as to whether or not Senator Cruz is a natural born citizen: I would think that an important issue for the Heritage Foundation to address.

I live in Texas and have voted for both of these men (Perry several times over).

Cruz is a very solid conservative. Perry is a little more of a "pragmatist", but still has strong conservative values.

However, ultimately, either of them would be 999,999,999,999,999,999,999 times better and more competent as president on their worst day than Øvomit has been on the very best day of his reign of terror.

I agree that Cruz can´t run for president (though I really, really, really wish he could), and probably will serve this nation much better as a power player in the Senate. But Perry can and would make a great president.

They both have my vote!!!

It shouldn´t be a problem for Cruz to run for president - he just needs to seal all of his records and pretend he was born in Hawaii. Cobble up a fake birth certificate and depict his Leftist detractors as "birthers" and various kinds of trouble makers no matter how ridiculously inept the quality of the fake certificate is. And so on... A precedent has been established with Obama. Sauce for the goose and all that. For some reason, Obama remains in office after thumbing his nose at attempts to check his records and credentials. Absolutely unbelievable. This is what our country has come to. Cruz should be allowed to run.

NEW YORK - Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu strongly rejected on Wednesday harsh US criticism of Israeli moves in east Jerusalem, saying that just as Arabs have the right to buy and live in property throughout the capital, so too do Jews. Netanyahu, in a briefing in New York with reporters who accompanied him on his trip to the US, said that as Israel’s prime minister he did not understand the criticism of Jews legally buying and moving into property in Jerusalem. “Arabs in Jerusalem freely buy apartments, and nobody says that is forbidden. The White House on Wednesday strongly criticized reports of Israeli settlement construction in East Jerusalem, on the same day that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Obama. Israeli officials have reportedly given final approval to the creation of more than 2,500 homes in East Jerusalem. "This development will only draw condemnation from the international community, distance Israel from even its closest allies [and] poison the atmosphere, not only with the Palestinians but also with the very Arab governments with which Prime Minister Netanyahu said he wanted to build relations," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said at a briefing.
