Rahm, Gutierrez want Chicago to

Chicago Democrats are hoping to make the Windy City the model for enrolling illegal immigrants into whatever new benefits the Obama administration might adopt. Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.) and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) joined forces Wednesday with roughly 50 civic leaders to launch a comprehensive strategy for signing up those immigrants who might become newly eligible for any new benefits coming out of the administration. “When an announcement comes, we will make sure Chicago is ready, that the community institutions in our neighborhoods are ready, and that we can efficiently inform our community about what is being announced and can help

Comments:
Of course they do. That´s what Chicago needs, more illegals. s/o Chicago shouldn´t be a model for anything. They are already drooling over the freebies they want. Gutierrez was on with Neil Cavuto today and I felt like I needed to take a shower after watching that smarmy jerk spew forth his lies.

Both the city of Chicago and Illinois are deep in debt and have huge unemployment problems. Do they really need a lot of unskilled labor to add to the problem? Employers are also leaving in large numbers because of the high taxes. The city needs more problems...

Immigrant benefits to include spare magazines, ammunition, Trijicon night sights for their 9s, and a neat little webbed bag to remind them to police their brass. Remember crims: no spent casings at the CS (crime scene) makes them think you used a revolver, until ballistics reports tell what caliber you used. Plenty of time to get to the bus station and head back to McAllen.

Their plan depends on a massive influx of federal money, you can safely bet on that, as Chicago does not have any money. With the Republicans running the House of Representatives the liberal Democrats running Chicago are going to have a lot of good luck to get that federal money.

Nanny Government: California, as is its wont, enacted another bunch of silly laws this week, topped by a ban on the plastic bags that we all find so handy. No wonder the once-Golden State is looking a bit dull and faded these days. On Tuesday, Gov. Jerry Brown signed into a law a bill that outlaws single-use plastic bags at grocery and convenience stores. It´s the first statewide plastic-bag ban in the country and will take effect in supermarkets next year. The basis of this feel-good law is supposedly environmental protection. A cyberattack this summer on JPMorgan Chase compromised more than 76 million household accounts and seven million small-business accounts, making it among the largest corporate hacks ever discovered. The latest revelations, which were disclosed in a regulatory filing on Thursday, vastly dwarf earlier estimates that hackers had gained access to roughly one million customer accounts. The new details about the extent of the cyberattack — which began in June but was not discovered until July — sent JPMorgan scrambling for the second time in just three months to contain the fallout. As the severity of the attack became more clear in recent

The Secret Service regularly overlooked examples of agents lying in order to avoid undermining their credibility in court, sources say. The practice allowed agents to continue testifying in court against assailants or potential threats to the president, according to two sources familiar with the practice. At times over the last several years, when an officer’s or agent’s behavior was under review for a potential suspension, top managers would determine that the officer lied about some aspect of the case. But rather than charge them with providing inaccurate information, managers would find some alternative agreement to reduce their punishment, sources said. “It’s a complete culture

President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus
