The Fairytale of the Victimhood
American Thinker, by Angela Graham-West

Original Article

I recently read an article entitled “What Black Parents Tell Their Sons About the Police” and I began to ponder the downward spiral in race relations over the past five years. According to the author Jazmine Hughes: “Such is the burden of black parenting. Being a black parent, especially of a black boy, comes with the added onus of having to protect your child from a country that is out to get him -- a country that kills someone that looks like him every 28 hours, a country that will likely imprison him by his mid-thirties if he doesn´t get his

As a white parent of four children, the first lesson upon the semi maturity of my children was to tell them to be respectful to the police, because they are our protection from the ´bad guys´. When they started to drive, I assumed at some time they might be pulled over by a policeman and they were told to be respectful and if given a ticket to just take it and live to fight it in court if they were right. Well, the time came and my eldest lived to fight a left turn ticket in court and he won, because the light was not functioning properly and awaiting repair. Out of four kids, only one has had a run in with authority and it was the TSA, who abused her/him when she/he asked that they didn´t go through his/her luggage like tossing a salad. I guess that was to much for the TSA agent to bear, so he called in his goons. I always warned that child to be respectful, but I guess being over 40 and all, that child of mine just briefly forgot her/his place in the world.

I guess these black parents don´t care if their children live or die. If they truly did, they would tell the truth about the number one killer of black men: black men.

The 1991 movie "Boyz In The Hood" came pretty damn close to telling the truth of the matter. They wimped out though, by having Larry Fishburne shoot at a black man who had broken into his house and then be glad that he didn´t kill him because "he would just be contributing to killing another black man". We´ll I that is how you feel, why shoot at all?

Later, Fishburne´s character blames the fact that liquor stores and gun shops are in black neighborhoods because "they want us to kill ourselves".

Lastly, the strange speech Ice Cube´s character gives about "people not knowing, showing or caring about what goes on in the ´hood". What exactly does it matter if we know? We can´t do a damned thing about it. You have to fix it yourselves.

It´s sad to see self loathing like exhibited by the black and white mothers described in this article, especially since all their dismay is based on lies.

The only "privilege" that whites have is that they (mostly) have established and live within a structure called civilization. There are rules within the structure, laws as well as social imperatives. Those imperatives are mostly about personal responsibility. Most of us civilized folk don´t care one bit what your race or skin color is. But we do care that you carry your own weight.

There is FREE public education to train you to participate in society. There is lots of funding to support technical school or college.

The only way to fail is if you consciously reject the education and the rules of civilized society. When you make that CHOICE, society doesn´t treat you well. There is no targeting of such people unless they break laws. They are simply cast aside as a consequence of their choice not to participate. Of course, they don´t much like that. They claim victimhood. They ARE victims, of their own stupidity.

As the article points out, there will always be isolated incidents of true prejudice. But to cast them as the norm is absurd and tragic. To falsely cast other incidents as examples of prejudice is destructive and cruel.

Here´s a hint to black parenting. Tell the little thug in training to get an education, stay in school and don´t be part of the problem, pull up your pants no one wants to see your drawers. Come home before dark and get off the streets respect the police and respond politely when spoken to. Learn proper English so you can communicate in a work environment if you desire to work. Don´t do drugs and keep your pants up and don´t become a juvenile ´baby daddy´ or ´baby momma´. Simple advice but will they do it? I don´t think so.

What a White parent tells his son or daughter.

Avoid Blacks in groups or in crime ridden areas.

If you have to shoot shot to kill just like police officers are trained to do.

Whites who though racism was a thing of the past just have to look at the reports of Black on White Crime. It is getting much worse under the leadership of Obama and Holder.

Treat police respectfully. Answer their questions. Take your hands out of your pockets so they can see them.

Once they know there is no threat, they will treat you in kind.

Btw, if you are stopped in a motor vehicle, turn on your interior lights and keep your hands on the steering wheel until they approach. With the lights on, he can see what you are doing and it lessens any apprehension they may have. Every stop is perceived as a danger as they have no idea what is in the car or who you are.

Black boys in the ghettos and projects are hunted but it isn´t by cops, it´s by rival gang bangers or maybe a dealer they didn´t pay or whose territory they transgressed. They live in a jungle and behave like it . . . kill or be killed.

It´s not their fault, they aren´t there by choice. And it isn´t the fault of ´the man´ unless by ´the man´ you mean left wing bleeding heart government liberals who built and maintain the ghettos and projects and keep them well supplied by single mothers with their fatherless broods subsidized through government programs that stipulate they must not be married to get the money. So you have an isolated island of unsupervised fatherless children with day prison schools in which they only learn the law of the jungle. To see the kind of thing that can happen to even a bunch of very civilized boys in a situation like that read "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding.

Unfortunately the left depends on those ghettos for votes and so they aren´t likely to be broken up and the subsidies discontinued anytime soon. Anyone who tries it will be branded a heartless racist.

The Democratic Party and the mainstream media joined to run interference for Barack Obama when he became a national figure. Obama was painted as a charismatic, competent, new kind of politician. The passage of time destroyed this image. Now, the public increasingly sees Obama as incompetent, untrustworthy and unmotivated. Supporters are now in an awkward position. Do they continue to support what is increasingly seen as an inept president or do they turn against him? Continuing the subterfuge is dangerous. Lending credibility to an incredible man is a certain way to destroy one’s own validity. Obama, once considered a savior and asset

They would have been spent for the ability of illegal aliens to cast illegal votes for politicians doing illegal things. While both parties are to some degree to blame for the porousness of our southern border, the party that has the singular ability to solve the problem via the levers of government, the Democrats, is ensuring that the problem becomes so pervasive and vast that

Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. President Obama just announced that he is bringing a counter-terrorism strategy to an insurgency fight. He was at pains to repeat the phrase “counter-terror” four times in a short speech. Noting that ISIL is not a state (partly because the international community thankfully does not recognize it), he declared, “ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple.
