IRS ethics lawyer facing possible
disbarment, accused of lying

Washington Times, by Jim McElhatton

Original Article

Posted By:Toledo, 8/27/2014 8:37:52 AM

A lawyer in the IRS ethics office is facing the possibility of being disbarred, according to records that accuse her of lying to a court-appointed board and hiding what she’d done with money from a settlement that was supposed to go to two medical providers who had treated her client. The disciplinary arm of the D.C. Court of Appeals has recommended that Takisha McGee, a section manager in the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility, lose her law license over the charge, which stems from a personal injury case she worked about a year before she joined the tax agency.

Another reason they should be glad I´m not in charge. I´d bulk up the IG offices of each dept with contract people to evaluate every bureaucrat and flag the useless ones for termination. And when they complain they´re union or a court says I can´t do that - I´d do it anyway. What are they going to do, have the union contribute to my opponent in the next election? They would anyway. And then the remaining working employees would be put to work winding down the departments that aren´t authorized by the constitution - over a 2-3 year period with a constant trickle out and removal of fedgov regulations the economy would take off and there would be jobs for those who are willing to actually work. But I´m afraid the lazy one´s would get pretty hungry since all forms of welfare would be eliminated at the fedgov level, too. The war on poverty was lost, I´d say. That´s a state issue.

White House on FOIA Delays

Government watchdog groups and transparency advocates are asking the Obama administration to review its policy of having the White House sign off on an expanded number of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests—a procedure they say causes significant delays. In a letter to the White House released Monday, 25 transparency organizations said the Obama administration’s policy of reviewing FOIA requests that contain so-called “White House equities” has “caused significant confusion and delay among agencies in their compliance with the Freedom of Information Act.” According to a 2009 memo from the White House Counsel to all agency heads and general counsels, the White

When Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah intercepted a Tom Brady pass and returned it for a touchdown Monday night, he did what so many other NFL players do to celebrate a big play: He paused to make a religious gesture of thanks. But Abdullah, a devout Muslim, found that his religious display was met with less latitude than, say, Tim Tebow when he brought Tebowing into the NFL. Abdullah was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct after he dropped to his knees in the end zone

President Obama has a pretty obvious deadline for nominating a successor to departing Attorney General Eric Holder. If Democrats lose control of the Senate in November, they´ll still run things until newly-elected members arrive in January. So just to be safe, if the president wants guaranteed confirmation of a new attorney general, he´ll need to pick one soon. That way, even if Republicans win the Senate, and even if Obama´s choice is unpopular with the GOP, lame-duck Democrats will still be able to steamroll the opposition and confirm a new Attorney General. But it could be very, very ugly. The White House

Paul Farhi in the Washington Post writes that the press office in the current White House has on several occasions meddled with the pool reports on President Barack Obama. Pool reports are dispatches of Obama’s public or semi-public appearances written by professional reporters who are selected on a rotating basis by the independent White House Correspondents’ Association. The reports are written throughout the day and sent to the White House press office, which in turn then distributes them

President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
