New York Times Refuses To Endorse

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Times on Tuesday declined to endorse Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic gubernatorial primary, claiming he “resisted and even shut down opportunities to fix” a state government controlled by big money. The newspaper’s editorial board noted that when he campaigned for his first term as governor four years ago, Cuomo said “Job 1” would be to clean up Albany and “make the government work for the people.” But the Times accused Cuomo of failing to live up to that promise. The paper said his first budget cut education by $1.5 billion, and that he also

Coumo must be considered a threat to Hillary´s Presidential ambitions. The NYT would never go after a Dem unless another Dem was involved.

NY Politics is built on Tammany Hall type corruption.

I hate to conclude this because Cuomo Part II is a total slug, but it seems they are slamming him for being sort of, dare I say, fiscally responsible. This, to the NY Slimes, is clearly egregious.

Ha.

This Governor is too busy with Sandra Lee who cooks cheap on the Food Channel and does hideous stuff she calls table scapes to match her clothes. Truly awful and a perfect side kick for a truly awful man. I´m not sure whether the NYT needs an influx of shrinks to see what´s on or praise for not endorsing this pig. Then again, who cares.

With Hillary Rodham Clinton´s 2016 presidential run looking like a foregone conclusion, the question now is whether she has a message. Fresh off a visit to Iowa and two events last week in Washington where she sought to reconnect with female voters, Clinton has sounded increasingly like a candidate. She hints at her presidential ambitions with wink-and-a-nod asides like the one in Iowa: "It is true, I´m thinking about it." Yet in framing what she described Friday as her "long career of fighting for women, and children, and fairness, and equality, and justice," Clinton has nearly mastered the art of avoiding controversy,

WASHINGTON — With the list of international crises growing, President Obama, more than 100 world leaders — and even some celebrities, such as Leonardo DiCaprio — arrive in New York this week for meetings to find common ground and solutions. But while the convening of the 69th General Assembly of the United Nations guarantees a traffic mess, odds are far lower that the gathering achieves anything more than ceremonial jawing. Priority No. 1 for Obama is to bolster a coalition of countries backing his effort to destroy ISIS. Support so far is tepid, especially from Arab states. The President also wants support for

Islamic State has released a Hollywood-style propaganda video seemingly meant to counter a U.S.-led military and diplomatic drive targeting the media-savvy extremist movement. The slickly produced video, clocking in at 55 minutes, is the group’s most ambitious agitprop effort to date, and again highlights Islamic State´s social media prowess. It initially appeared on YouTube but was removed. We are the harshest toward the infidels, and the flames of war are only beginning to intensify. - English-speaking Islamic State fighter appears in the group´s new video The piece is a manifestly self-glorifying project for a group widely reviled for its cruelty and sectarian-fueled ruthlessness. Last week, I received a copy of the Quran.(snip) In its cover letter, CAIR cites a 2009 speech made by President Barack Obama in Egypt where he declared that America promised "a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world." CAIR appears to be acting upon that speech literally, and now is taking its message to the local level. In fact, I´ve learned that all major cities in Montana have been receiving copies of the Quran as part of the organization´s public relations campaign. Domestic violence, also known as intimate partner violence, is defined as the physical, sexual or psychological harm caused by the current or former intimate partner. Since the 1970s, concern regarding the issue began in response to the women´s movement. Most of the traditional studies looked at the abuse women faced from men in heterosexual relationships. But, the latest study by Northwestern Medicine scientists found that domestic violence is more common among same-sex couples and excess stress raises the risk of this abuse. On analyzing the previous studies together, it was observed that domestic violence affected

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department expects to bring criminal charges in the coming months in investigations involving financial institutions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday as he called for better incentives for Wall Street whistleblowers who report crime. Holder did not describe the investigations in a speech at New York University’s law school except to say that they’re “focused on the conduct of individuals” and involve wrongdoing that has undermined the financial markets. He used the address to urge Congress to raise a cap on the amount of money that a whistleblower can receive for reporting misconduct. Such cooperation is essential since

The National Security Advisor of the United States did something astonishing yesterday. In the middle of a reporter’s questioning, she bolted from the podium of the White House pressroom, saying, “Nice to see you,” fleeing a situation she evidently was unable to cope with. The question that caused Ms. Rice to flee was a fairly simple one: whether or not the president has authorized the bombing of targets in Syria. Rice responded multiple times that the timing of strikes would not be released, but that was not the question at hand, and reporters pressed her on whether her boss had authorized

Analysts and recent polls have found Brown closing in on US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Democratic incumbent he is vying to unseat, in a race that has become increasingly nasty and expensive. Once largely dismissed by critics as an unlikely second act in a state he moved to only last year, Brown’s Senate bid is increasingly seen as a plausible path back to the US Capitol.
