Tepid clapping greets unpopular
Obama´s VA speech at American
Legion convention in his first
speech to group for three years

Daily Mail (UK), by David Martosko

Original Article

Posted By:mitzi, 8/26/2014 4:00:18 PM

President Barack Obama faced a tough crowd on Tuesday – American military veterans – and fell flat on his applause lines as he failed to win over the American Legion´s convention-goers. The 35-minute speech seemed to have reminded the audience of the stark divide between the White House´s policy choices and the feelings of the men and women often called on to carry them out. A Virginia legionnaire who served in the U.S. Marine Corps told MailOnline that ´a small group of Obama´s admirers – and there are some here – sat near the front and tried to generate applause

And this was Obama´s lone event for the entire day, save a "meeting" with Biden & Kerry at about 4:50 PM.
Obama´s schedule for the rest of the week: "Nothing".

Tepid? You could probably have counted them on the fingers of maybe two hands? The camera (Fox) scanning the very large crowd finally had to focus on one very small area where there was some applause. In the center of that small area was a very bulky black woman who was shooting video of Obie with her cell phone.

His speech was dreadful. The usual campaign drone and excuse-making. A snoozer.

Like someone (can´t remember which host or pundit) said on Fox today, remember the White House asks to appear before them the VA did not invite him to appear. They all look like they would rather be having root canals.

It´s no wonder, Obama made so many lies during that speech it would be hard to count them. Allegedly Afghanistan is a great success and under his leadership he stated "over the past 53 months, our businesses have added nearly 10 million new jobs -- the longest streak of private sector job creation in American history." Seriously? In American history?? Good Grief. What a despicable liar he is. Below is a link to the Charlotte Observer that printed the transcript. That´s where I got the lies. http://tinyurl.com/knf5fcg

As if Barack Obama has any intention of improving the lot of any of those veterans. And they know it. His existence as commander in chief is a mockery of all they believe in. I wager most of them would rather risk 35 minutes of exposure to Ebola than endure 35 minutes of exposure to Obama.

A couple of months ago I went to a concert featuring KISS and Def Leppard. They are pledging a percentage of the proceeds from their tour to the Wounded Warrior Project. In between bands, one wounded veteran from Afghanistan was presented with a mortgage free home adapted to his needs. The crowd stood and gave him a standing ovation and began to chant U-S-A. Those two bands and the people behind the project have more respect than the Commander in Chief and the Vets all know it.

It would be nice if Obama got this treatment or even less of a reception everytime he poked his head out the White House door. He deserves to know how he is perceived. After all, he has done everything in his power to make it perfectly clear he hates this country and everything it stands for. If that happened, he would be making a lot less public appearances which would be a win/win. He could play more golf and we wouldn´t have to be subjected to his hissing voice on the nightly news.

Some of the claps were so puny that it might have been just his staff putting their hands together. Others were a bit more due to his praise of military personnel.
Frankly, I am surprised he even agreed to speak there. I know he greatly prefers the adulation he gets at his fundraisers.

The clip included Obama correcting himself: He first said, "We will capture those responsible" which he immediately corrected to "We will go after those responsible."

He caught himself in a commitment he couldn´t deliver on. The same original wording about "bringing the people to justice" in Benghazi didn´t work.

So, as usual, he gave himself a way out. They will "try" to find those responsible, but no guarantees.

In short, leading from behind gets you looking pretty wishy-washy. This POTUS absolutely and resolutely refuses to commit to any decision that has even a remote chance of failing. Whatta guy.

As I was scrambling for the remote [why can´t I ever find that danged thing when I really need it] I heard about the first 60 seconds, including the non-welcome.

I didn´t even have to look at the television to know that the American Legion convention-goers were not happy campers to have to sit through another I, Me, and Mine.

The accompanying photos with this article are interesting. The looks on some of those Old Vet´s faces are priceless, and 0vomit could not have missed the fact that he was about as welcome as a . . . uh . . . skunk at a garden party. That wasn´t the first thing that came to mind, but in the interest of not being banned, it´ll have to do.

Well he is the man who ordered into place weak rules of engagement in Afghanistan that in many cases gave the enemy the tactical advantage over US forces. When these American Legion veterans hear that, they recognize that such weak policies on the battlefield have cost the lives of a lot of Americans and other collation member forces. So how are they supposed to react?

Obama just has no shame and he appeared here at the American Legion event inorder to force his verbal crap down the throats of the crowd to show his disdain for them. The Legion guys are the classy guys here in that they didn´t boo Obama off of the stage, they just refrained from applauding this phony president.

Seeing the picture of his joke like salute to the woman in the military pictured speaks volumes just as it does when he flips off the military when he leaves AirForce I or the helicopter. Obama is going to do what Obama is going to do (to this country). It just makes it more awkward and difficult for him if people aren´t smiling and clapping for him in the process. Frequent comments here and there about how, "we let him continue to dismantle our way of life, destroy our country", etc. If there really is no one planning to remove this fake "president" from his post, why not? I´m speaking of some one or some organization with the actual ability to legally and effectively end his term in office. U.S. Marshal´s office? Congress? Why are we left to sit here agonizing over the loss of America the beautiful, day by day? Are there no more real men of courage left? Is everyone afraid of the big, bad media? Where have all the heroes gone?

1. moderate, mild. 2. unemotional, halfhearted, apathetic.

I think I like apathetic best. Feeling the way I do at the moment about what Obama has done in the last six years, it would be hard for me to be respectful - I would be sorely tempted to boo.

What gets me is this: He asked to speak here. Why? we wonder.... He has something to say and thinks this audience is appropriate for it and will appreciate it.

what did he say? He talked about how the wars he didn´t start are ended now (thanks to Obama!); that there ARE no wars any more (thanks to Obama!), we won´t be going into any more wars (thanks to Obama!), and that he is instituting lots of new MENTAL HEALTH initiatives, FOR THEM (thanks to Obama!)

So my conclusion is this:
1. He thinks military men (and women) don´t choose their jobs or like what they do, or see even a need for it, any more than he does;
2. That all military personnel are victims (of course) of the Republican War Machines of the Past that got them injured and maimed, their buddies blown to bits, and left them all with PTSDE;
3. That they appreciate that he won´t do any of that to anyone in this country, ever again (thanks! to him);
4. War experiences left our veterans mentally scarred and dangerous. All of them! So he´s going to get them all fixed (thanks! to him); and last but not least,
5. That the people out there who KEEP SAYING THEY HATE US AND WANT TO KILL US, really don´t, because he lived amongst them and loves everything about them, except for a few misguided ones.

No more war. No more guns. No more big bombing machines. All you soldiers and sailors and airmen and marines just come on home now, and find yourself another job in this great economy (thanks to Obama!!!).

Obama: Islamic State Acting

After my article “Islamic State Atrocities: Products of Grievances’?” appeared, a reader sent me the following email, which makes similar points, specifically about Obama’s use of the word “expediency” to explain away Islamic State savageries: Dear Mr. Ibrahim, You are so correct to find Obama’s real point of view by paying close attention to his phraseology and vocabulary, something I find too few commentators take the time to do. Often one word, such as “grievances,” gives the whole show away. I read the transcript of Obama’s remarks made after the beheading of Mr. Foley — after which Obama returned to

President Ebola: In 2010 Obama

In October 2014, the first patient on American soil infected with the Ebola virus sits in isolation in a Texas hospital, prompting calls for travel restrictions between the United States and Ebola-stricken countries. Meanwhile, four years ago, the administration of President Barack Obama moved with virtually no fanfare to abandon a comprehensive set of regulations which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had called essential to preventing international travelers from spreading deadly diseases inside the United States. The CDC had proposed the regulations in 2005 under the administration of George W. Bush, reported USA Today in 2010. The

“Asinine” is the word the New York Times is using to describe Maurice “Hank” Greenberg’s $55 billion lawsuit against the United States over the Federal Reserve’s seizure of the AIG insurance combine at the start of the Financial Crisis. “Mostly insane” is the phrase the New Republic is using to describe the same suit, which it also calls “ridiculous.” The New Yorker, which sets Mr. Greenberg down as an “old coot,” characterizes his lawsuit as an “absurdist comedy.” The critics of the case seem strangely sneering in respect of the claim made by Starr International (Mr. Greenberg’s company is the

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - At least two Colorado adults have died from complications from what may be enterovirus-68, the same strain that has afflicted hundreds, mostly children, across the country. Dr. Phil Emrie, a critical care pulmonologist at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, says he treated adult patients who suffered from conditions similar to the virus. “We don’t know for sure that it’s the enterovirus-68, but we do know that it’s consistent with the illness that they’re seeing in children,” Emrie said. That specific virus has been diagnosed primarily in children. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has

Are we the only ones who are wondering whether the next high-level resignation from the Obama administration ought to be the director of the Centers for Disease Control over the issue of ebola? Dr. Thos. AUSTIN -- A divided federal appeals court ruled Thursday evening to allow Texas´s tough new abortion regulations to take effect, a decision that is expected to force all but seven clinics in the state to close. The ruling from a three-judge panel of the 5th Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals at least temporarily reversed a decision by a local judge who struck down two provisions of the law as unconstitutional in August. The order signed by Judges Jennifer Walker Elrod and Jerry E. Smith found that Texas officials were likely to ultimately win their appeal in defense of

In the first chapter that addresses the encounter, Dunham describes the "ill-fated evening of lovemaking" as awkward and hollow. In the next chapter, Dunham backtracks with the claim that she´s an "unreliable narrator" and accuses "Barry" of rape: [I]n another essay in this book I describe a sexual encounter with a mustachioed campus Republican as the upsetting but

A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. But recently, speculation is whirling that Romney may not be so adamant anymore. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story. We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.” That response, which

Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in
