Cable Karma: Fox News soars as CNN
reportedly to announce huge layoffs

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

According to a report in The Wrap, CNN and sister network Headline News are planning to lay off 550 staffers, a huge and very painful cutback. (snip)Because progressives dominate 90% of media outlets and studiously ignore major stories like the IRS scandals, Benghazi, and basically anything harmful to Democrats, Fox News is handed the opportunity to reach the public with distinctive content unavailable elsewhere, and the public is responding. Most major media would rather be progressive than successful. But then again, progressivism almost never works as it promises, based as it is on a false notion that human nature can be

The best thing for ALL people in the U.S. would be when the MSM plays only movies and reruns , becau, hysterical news they present simply warps the thinking of viewers, in my opinion.

Is like to see the commie news network fold completely, but then, we´d probably be seeing AlJazeera in airports and hotel lobbies, not that it would make much difference.

CNN made money and news when they broke up the MSM monopoly.

Yet the public does not need another outlet to say the same old stuff.

This is why Fox is NOW making money and news, but we have to be on the lookout for them to slowly drift leftward.

Fox should go for the royal flush and dump Jerry Rivers, Uncle Juan, and Beckel.
Compared to the rest of the LSM that would be what I would call fair and balanced.

Senator Elbert Guillory of the Louisiana State Senate is known as a maverick, a black Republican in a state where the Democratic Party is sustained by solid support by the African-American population. But that doesn’t stop him from tyelling the hard truths he believes African-Americans must face. Watch the 2 minute and 20 second ad below, and think about how this might resonate if it were widely seen. Perhaps a sixty-second version can be produced for use on television. The polling on the race between Republican Bill Cassidy and Landrieu is fairly tight. The Real Clear Politics average of polls has Cassidy

Government beneficence is mostly a myth based on the following assumptions: It is necessary. It is good. It makes outcomes better than they otherwise would be. Point number one, the necessity of government, is true up to a point. (snip) The second two conditions, at least given what our government does today, are increasingly disputed by those who look at government objectively. If these latter two become widely accepted as untrue, then the role of government will be reduced dramatically. Government will do anything it can to prevent its reduction. Has Henry Waxman joined the much-touted “war on women”? Sandra Fluke is the symbol of that war, establishing the principle that not giving her whatever she wants for her personal life amounts to a war on women. Evidently, this was not received with enthusiasm, so a day later she set her sights a bit lower: After considering a run for a Congressional seat in California, women´s rights activist

President Obama’s 60 Minutes interview, taped last Friday and aired Sunday, is turning out to be a disaster for him, and may even be a tipping point of sorts. There are six dimensions to the disaster. 1. By blaming the intelligence community for his failure to act on the ISIS threat, he ensured that a series of damaging leaks will be coming, and they are already starting. (snip) 5. National security is a gut-level issue, and Obama is forming an image of someone unable to muster the level of concern or leadership necessary to protect us. The startling images of

ISIS may have called on Muslims the world over to attack Americans (and the “filthy French”), but when two Muslims in Oklahoma act on that call using beheading (or the threat thereof) as their method, The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City’s daily newspaper, calls it a “bizarre coincidence.” Nolan Clay writes: In a bizarre coincidence, a fired Oklahoma City nursing home employee was arrested Friday after a co-worker reported he threatened to cut her head off. President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The Obama administration found itself scrambling on Tuesday to defend President Barack Obama for his lackluster 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings, a finding from a new report issued by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI). When asked about the GAI revelation on Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered and unprepared. "Well, I have no validation of those statistics," said Psaki. Sacramento, Calif. - Gov. A national coalition of plastic bag manufacturers immediately said it would seek a voter referendum to repeal the law, which is scheduled to take effect in July 2015. Under SB270, plastic bags will be phased out of large grocery stores starting next summer and convenience stores and pharmacies in 2016. The law allows grocers to charge a fee of at least 10 cents for using paper bags. State Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Los Angeles,
