US forces set to move into Syria

And on Monday, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem said that the embattled regime of President Bashar al-Assad could accept support from the United States to help fight ´terrorists´. [Snip] ´Any effort to fight terrorism should be done in coordination with Syrian government,´ Moallem said according to CNN. However, when asked by CNN´s Wolf Blitzer if the US would seek the permission of Syria to strike within its territory, Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said they would not. ´Not getting into the hypothetical operations, there´s no intention to coordinate with Syrian authorities,´ said Kirby to CNN.

"No intention" to ask permission, when Syria has said Assad "could accept support from the United States to fight terrorism"?

"At the White House, spokesman Josh Earnest said Obama would consult Congress on whatever he decided on Syria, but would not necessarily seek congressional approval."

Perhaps Obama should simply dissolve Congress since he doesn´t recognize it as a legitimate authority under our Constitution. Just as Obama sent National Park Service police to block elderly veterans from entering monuments honoring their service, he could have the NPS place the 535 representatives in Guantanamo so that he could wage war without the hassle of laws and Constitutional restrictions.

As to the Repubs, they should only be asking Obama what his plans are for Iraq, Syria, Libya and Afghanistan and when he intends on asking for congressional approval of those plans. Stop calling for action. Obama has told us that he is the smartest person in the room, so make him show Congress his smarts.

So Obama armed Isis to fight Assad and now one year later Obama is going to bomb Isis to help Assad. That neurotic foreign policy is why the world does not trust us. Simply pathetic!

Once again, why are we telling our enemies what we are doing militarily? Don´t the fools in this administration understand that the element of surprise is crucial to winning battles! Maybe it´s more important for this do-nothing president to make it look like he plans to do something rather than actually doing something. He cares more about the politics of war than the fighting and winning of war. Pitiful....

Obama still has not learned any lessons from his meddling in the Middle East, being the lightweight he is: The locals in Benghazi, Libya turned on him(us) after "liberating" them from evil Ghadafi and now the Syrian rebels he wanted to help against Assad have done the exact same thing. More unintended and certainly unanticipated(read tunnel vision) consequences are coming for Obama and thus America.

THIS IS A TEST:

See how many escape hatches Obama has built into the following strategy. Can you count them all? Hint: I have bolded some of them.

Pentagon officials have been drafting potential options for the type of action Obama may want to consider to counter ISIS. The plans include airstrikes against strategic targets. One official said the administration has a need for reliable intelligence from Syria and called the surveillance flights an important avenue for obtaining data on the group´s size, firepower and the whereabouts of its leadership.

Here is another escape hatch for Obama:

Administration officials have said a concern for Obama in seeking to take out ISIS inside Syria is the prospect that such a move could unintentionally help Assad.

Yes. It also "could" fail if we go in half-heartedly, with "rules of engagement" handcuffs, which is why Obama is scrambling like a Harley on ice to line up his excuses ahead of time.

Why can´t he be a real leader and say, "ISIS is a threat to America by their own words. They are savages. We are going to wipe them out. America will not be bullied and we will not tolerate threats to our homeland."

Is that asking too much?

When American bodies and aircraft begin piling up, he will blame bad intel and will say "We were operating on the best information we had at the time."

You just know that is how he will, once again, avoid responsibility.

We´ll see but don´t bet on it.

We´re in this mess because he has no coherent middle east strategy. Besides that, he demands an ad hoc consensus of opinions before he will act. Usually, by the time that happens the crisis is over.

PS: Admiral Kirby, he doesn´t listen to his military commanders either.

Does that mean that Assad and Co. is going to start firing RPG´s at our aircraft carriers? That might hurt somebody.

Seriously, here´s the real deal. If you decide to go to war with some other entity, then you must be prepared to go the whole way. You CANNOT do things piecemeal. As any compentent military leader will tell you that in order to win a war, your must defeat the enemy´s ability to fight, and more importantly, there will to fight. Just like we did against Japan in WWII. Their ability to fight was really crushed, but until the Emperor made the decision to surrender after the dropping of the atomic bombs, the bulk of the Japanese military were still willing to fight. The same thing will happen with these barbarians in the middle east. They are driven by a 7th century belief that they cannot and will not deny. So, I don´t believe that anything that Obozo is or isn´t going to do will have much effect on any outcome. The only way that these sub-humans are going to be defeated is for enough free nations of the world unite and TOGATHER put a permanent end to them. At least that is my take on the situation.

This threat was nonexistent before it became very serious before it became a regional problem before it required U.S. intervention without the permission of the host country. It takes a mind like obama´s to keep track of a complex problem like this, especially from a golf cart. We just don´t appreciate how good he really is.

This is certainly a case in point that Obie does not have a shadow. Treating Assad now as the best deal in town as opposed to taking him out a year ago? Now that´s foresight for you, Obie. So if we send a couple of hundred troops into Syria, that will take care of it? Or take care of what? What else can we tell isis that will help them?

STOCKHOLM - Sweden´s new center-left government will recognize the state of Palestine in a move that will make it the first major European country to take the step, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said on Friday. The UN General Assembly approved the de facto recognition of the sovereign state of Palestine in 2012 but the European Union and most EU countries, have yet to give official recognition. "The conflict between Israel and Palestine can only be solved with a two-state solution, negotiated in accordance with international law," Lofven said during his inaugural address in parliament.

I’m always sceptical when I hear scare-mongering claims about diseases. From bird flu to SARS, we’re repeatedly told it’s going to be the new Plague that will wipe everyone out and then…it doesn’t. Probably because the scare-mongering itself makes people take it seriously enough to prevent it spreading.
