Trayvon Martin parents to join
rally for slain Missouri teen

Reuters, by Nick Carey & Edward McAllister

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 8/24/2014 9:17:02 PM

Hundreds of people gathered in a St Louis park on Sunday for a rally against police violence that is expected to bring together the family of Michael Brown, killed by an officer in Missouri this month, and the parents of Trayvon Martin, a Florida teenager shot dead in 2012. The Peace Fest rally in Forest Park takes place one day before the funeral of Brown. The slaying of the 18-year-old black youth by a white police officer, Darren Wilson, in the St Louis suburb of Ferguson on Aug. 9 led to days of unrest and drew global attention to race relations in the United States. The shooting of Martin by a civilian vigilante reignited the debate

Comments:
I bet Trayvon Martin´s parents won´t be sharing any of the money throw at them. The spirit of 0bama´s racism lives on.

The Nusra Front, al-Qaeda´s affiliate in Syria, has killed one of the Lebanese soldiers it had been holding in captivity, according to Lebanese security sources and a Twitter statement. The killing of the soldier, if confirmed, will be the first to have been carried out by the Nusra Front, which along with ISIL is holding over a dozen more Lebanese soldiers captive. The Twitter statement on an account affiliated with Nusra Front said on Friday that the soldier had become "the first victim of the intransigence of the Lebanese army which has become a plaything in the hands of the Iranian party", referring to Hezbollah.

Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

A Texas court has thrown out a law prohibiting ‘up the skirt’ photography, on the grounds the previous ruling violated Texas’ citizens’ constitutional right to freedom of expression. The Texas Court of Appeals ruled 8-1 to strike down part of a law which bans taking images of another person in public without their consent and with the intention to “arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person”, criticising the “paternalistic” intrusion into peoples’ private right to be aroused.
