U.S. strikes in Syria against Islamic State
would be hindered by intelligence gaps

Washington Post, by Greg Miller

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 8/24/2014 4:33:46 AM

A U.S. offensive in Syria against the radical Islamist group that beheaded an American journalist would likely be constrained by persistent intelligence gaps and an inability to rely on fleets of armed drones that have served as the Obama administration’s signature weapon against terrorist networks elsewhere, U.S. officials said. The Pentagon has conducted daily surveillance flights along Iraq’s border with Syria in recent weeks as part of a push to bolster U.S. intelligence on the Islamic State without crossing into Syrian airspace and risking the loss of aircraft to that nation’s air defenses, officials said.

Comments:
If this is true, how is 0bama managing the drone strikes in the Middle East? The only pResident to negotiate with terrorist against our stated foreign policy is just buying all the time for IS to ramp up its strength and Iran to go nuclear power.

Qatar Hits Back at
Claims It Backs Extremists

Dubai, UAE - The Gulf nation of Qatar is hitting back at suggestions that it supports the Islamic State or other extremist groups, and is calling for "determined, collective action" to end sectarian violence gripping Iraq and Syria. Qatari Foreign Minister Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah said in a written statement distributed to journalists Saturday that efforts to stop the bloodshed must include cutting off the flow of funds to extremist groups. He says Qatar does not support extremists including ISIS — an alternate name for the Islamic State — in any way, and is "repelled by their views, their violent methods and their ambitions."

British Special Forces hunting the killer of James Foley are using an array of sophisticated equipment to track him down – and possibly free other hostages being held. The Mail on Sunday has been given a detailed account of how elite troops from the SAS and the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) are conducting high-tech operations inside Syria and Iraq, which could lead to the capture of the extremists within days. It emerged as reports suggested that British intelligence services had identified the true identity of the terrorist who beheaded Mr Foley – as seen in a video which shocked the

US ´set to launch air strikes´

The United States was said to be considering air strikes aimed at eliminating individual leaders of Islamic State as Turkey came under mounting pressure to stem the flow of jihadists across its border into Syria. As Washington on Saturday debated extending air strikes into Syria, senior British politicians urged Ankara to act to block recruits from the UK and other countries from entering Syria via Turkey, en route to joining Islamic State (formerly Isis). This weekend large numbers of Isis jihadists were trying to secure greater control of the border area, pushing northwards in armoured trucks looted from abandoned Iraqi military bases.

You know what’s funny? Infanticide! It’s the point of a hysterical new trend from a left-wing blogger. Andrea Grimes of RH Reality Check and the Texas Observer (Both part of George Soros’ Media Consortium) wasn’t keen on the internet-viral #IceBucketChallenge, so she decided to create one of her own: the #TacoOrBeerChallenge – to fund abortion. “I want you to eat a taco, drink a beer, and fund abortion,” she wrote in a new piece for RH Reality Check. The #IceBucketChallenge raised more than $41 million as of August 21 for the ALS Association, a self-described “national non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”

Furniture manufacturer Ace Bayou Corp. and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled 2.2 million bean bag chairs Friday after two children suffocated on the bags’ filling beads. “The zippers on the bean bag chairs can be opened and children can then crawl inside, get trapped and suffocate or choke on the bean bag chair’s foam beads,” the New Orleans-based company and the CPSC said in the recall notice (Snip) “The voluntary standard requires non-refillable bean bag chairs to have closed and permanently disabled zippers.” The zipper problem is a recurrent one in bean bag chair manufacturing.

Just when you think things can’t get any worse for kindergartners, they do. It used to be that kindergartners could play — which is how early childhood development experts say young children learn and are socialized best. Today 5- and 6-year-olds are forced to sit for hours at a time doing academics, often with little or no recess, and in some places, no time for a snack. Homework goes home every day with many kindergartners. Ebola continues to spread in West Africa as Sierra Leone voted to pass a new amendment imposing jail time for anyone caught hiding an Ebola patient. With 142 new cases recorded, the total number is now 2,615 with 1,427 deaths, the World Health Organization said Friday. The group added that the magnitude of the Ebola outbreak has been "underestimated." "Many families hide infected loved ones in their homes," the organization wrote in an assessment. "Others deny that a patient has Ebola and believe that care in an isolation ward — viewed as an incubator of the disease — will lead to infection and certain death.

When you gonna stop selling us out, Jesse?” the person continues. Mr. Jackson largely remains silent during the confrontation, stating only that he is there to support the people of Ferguson and has met with the parents of

We wuz robbed. Admit it, you neo-cons, paleo-cons, compassionates, country clubbers and decline-to-states: right now, in a just, moral, ordered universe, Mitt Romney should be President. He was right on Iraq and Benghazi, right on healthcare, immigration, and Russia. But he was so mendaciously smeared that voters possessed the ludicrous mindset that Mitt didn’t “care about someone like me.” Feckless Republican operatives allowed data-mining splashed with voter fraud to seal the defeat. Twenty months later, numerous polls indicate significant voter remorse. This genuine sentiment has naturally provoked calls of “Run, Mitt,

I’ve sat in archives and stared at the first documents that American communists excitedly sent from their offices at 1219 Blue Island Avenue in Chicago to Soviet Comintern headquarters in Moscow. President Obama is still vacationing in Martha´s Vineyard as this is written. But he may have experienced a jolting encounter with a grim reality. The problem with Obama is too often there is no "there, there" with his words on foreign policy issues. Most infamously, he drew a red line Syria, warning of terrible consequences if the Assad regime used chemical weapons. Then, when the Assad regime did use chemical weapons, Obama unexpectedly deferred to Vladimir Putin to broker a deal that rendered the red line irrelevant. There is no doubt that Obama, to this point in his presidency, has been epically

Ferguson, MO - Conditions calmed this week in Ferguson after nights of sometimes violent unrest stemming from the fatal shooting of a black 18-year-old by a white police officer. But a delicate and crucial question lingers: What happens if the grand jury now considering the case doesn’t return a charge against the officer? The fear among some local residents and officials trying to maintain peace in Ferguson is that failure to charge the officer could stoke new anger among a community profoundly mistrustful of the legal system. Many say they just hope the grand jury’s decision, whatever it is, has irrefutable facts to back it up.
