Shias in Iraq town under ISIS siege
face risk of ´massacre,´ UN says

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

The United Nations warned Saturday that a northeast Iraq town under siege by Islamic State militants since June faces risk of a "massacre," if urgent action is not taken to rescue residents. Militants have surrounded the small Shia Turkmen community of Amerli, roughly 110 miles north of Baghdad, drawing comparisons to Islamic State´s siege of Mount Sinjar, where thousands of Yazidi were trapped for weeks before U.S. air strikes drove the militants away and allowed the innocent civilians to escape the bloodthirsty jihadists. But this time, those trapped are Shia Muslims, who are reviled by the mostly Sunni Islamic State fighters.

Comments:
So.....? What would the UN like? "The international community"? Are they pointing the fickle finger of fate at us?

The Turkmens are not jihadists. They´re horse breeders. They reject extremists. Many of them are actually atheists. They´re just as worthy of being saved as Christians as Yazidis.

If these people are just as worth of Christians to be saved, the we will do absolutely nothing to help them- just like we help the Christians.

The Israel Air Force struck a 13-story building in Gaza City on Saturday evening that housed an enormous Hamas command center, IDF sources said, adding that only combatants were inside at the time. Gazan health officials said 17 people were wounded in the attack. Reuters cited local residents as saying that the building housed 44 families. Shortly after 8 p.m., rocket-warning sirens went off in cities across the Tel Aviv area, from Rishon Lezion to Bnei Brak and Givatayim. Blasts from Iron Dome interceptions could be heard in the air over Tel Aviv, though the sirens did not sound in the city. There

A disturbing series of events is surfacing. During the Trayvon Martin narrative in 2012 one of the challenges for the concentric circle of manipulators who sought to construct a false dynamic, intention and motive for George Zimmerman was the facts running counter to their chosen narrative. Anyone who focused on facts needed to be removed in order for the narrative to advance.(Snip)Flash Forward To 2014: So why is Captain Ron Johnson, selected by a Democrat governor, approved by Eric Holder and the DOJ, and then put into place?

LOUISVILLE – After failing to record a top 10 finish on the PGA Tour all year, Phil Mickelson is finally in contention at a major. Mickelson capped off his round with an eagle on 18 for a 4-under-par 67 that moved him to 6-under for the week, three out of the lead. “It’s fun to be back in it, to have a chance, to feel like my game is there and to not show up at the golf course hoping that I find something to work with. Courageous or foolish? Noble or misguided? Determined or pigheaded? You can attach a lot of adjectives to Tiger Woods and his ugly performance at the PGA Championship, but you can´t dispute this: the man playing golf right now is a faint shadow of the titan who owned the game a decade ago. There´s really not much to say about Woods´ performance at Valhalla, a +6 stumble that didn´t even look that good. Woods made the decision to play just days after withdrawing from the WGC at Firestone, and set himself up for worlds of second-guessing. His performance this week, in which

LOUISVILLE - Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have never golfed the same way, certainly not when they were at the top of their respective games. But in watching his playing partner at the PGA Championship Thursday, Woods could have seen something familiar in his old rival. Mickelson, 2-over par through eight holes, pulled it together, went on a bit of a birdie run on his back nine, and signed for a 2-under-par 69. It was the bounce-back quality that Woods always possessed, a quality that is currently lost because he doesn’t have the game to pull it off. Wood’s 3-over-par

Taking a small daily dose of aspirin can significantly reduce the risk of developing -- or dying from -- bowel, stomach and oesophageal cancer, according to a large review of scientific studies. An international team of researchers analysed all available evidence from studies and clinical trials to assess benefits and harm of taking aspirin to prevent cancer. They found that taking aspirin for 10 years could cut bowel cancer cases by around 35 per cent and deaths from the disease by 40 per cent. Rates of oesophageal and stomach cancer were cut by 30 per cent and deaths from these cancers by 35

President Obama is still vacationing in Martha´s Vineyard as this is written. But he may have experienced a jolting encounter with a grim reality. The problem with Obama is too often there is no "there, there" with his words on foreign policy issues. Most infamously, he drew a red line Syria, warning of terrible consequences if the Assad regime used chemical weapons. Then, when the Assad regime did use chemical weapons, Obama unexpectedly deferred to Vladimir Putin to broker a deal that rendered the red line irrelevant. There is no doubt that Obama, to this point in his presidency, has been epically

Ferguson, MO - Conditions calmed this week in Ferguson after nights of sometimes violent unrest stemming from the fatal shooting of a black 18-year-old by a white police officer. But a delicate and crucial question lingers: What happens if the grand jury now considering the case doesn’t return a charge against the officer? The fear among some local residents and officials trying to maintain peace in Ferguson is that failure to charge the officer could stoke new anger among a community profoundly mistrustful of the legal system. Many say they just hope the grand jury’s decision, whatever it is, has irrefutable facts to back it up.

Sometimes a round of golf is just a round of golf. And sometimes it reveals the essence of a man. President Obama’s decision to hit the links and yuk it up with pals immediately after speaking about the beheading of James Foley was no ordinary mistake. Nor was it a simple gaffe. The decision continues to cause an uproar because, like an X-ray, there is no escaping the image. It shows there is no there there. With even his media praetorian guard appalled, the golf outing is sparking a wider understanding that Obama is hollow, empty of the routine qualities Americans expect from

We are not engaged in a religious war. This is not a confrontation between Islam and the West. To start from that premise is to place Isil (which should not be called by its presumptive title “Islamic State”) on precisely the ground it wishes to occupy. [Snip] The contest is not modern liberal democracy versus the Dark Ages. This is to impose meaning on what is, in truth, meaningless.
