Saudi Arabia has beheaded 19 people
in one month. Isil would be proud

Telegraph [UK], by Tim Stanley

Original Article

Human Rights Watch reports that Saudi Arabia has beheaded 19 people since the beginning of August. Some confessions may have been gained under torture and one poor defendant was found guilty of sorcery. Yep, sorcery. That might sound archaic, but we are talking about a regime so very concerned about offending God that it has even banned certain names for being "blasphemous". [Snip] Of course, it’s difficult for the West to condemn a country for a liberal use of the death penalty when America does the same all the time. Nevertheless, Saudi Arabia’s sudden bump in executions is a reminder

Tim, have you heard about the countries where a person can be condemned to death by a family member because they have a physical deformity or congenital illness? Sometimes they are condemned to death just because they exist! Yeah, it´s unbelievably archaic and barbaric. And, no one worries about the pain and fear they experience while they are being tortured, yes tortured, to death. Now, this crowd that allows this, they aren´t worried about offending God, at all. The only ones who ever defend these people are considered haters and on the fringe of society. Can you imagine?

Don´t you just love how the opening paragraph compares our use of capital punishment (for the worst of worst murderers) to a regime that decapitates someone for being a magician (sorcerer)? Yea, we´re moral equivalents.

Saddam used the death penalty swiftly and liberally. Yet, his regime in Islamic terms was quite stable. Iran uses it without shame and they are quite stable. Saudi uses it, and their government is stable and deeply Islamic.

Every stable Islamic nation uses the beheading, liberal and extensive death penalty. Only when an Islamic nation adopts wester style leniency in their Justice System do they crumble into Islamic bloody chaos.

Islam is a blood cult. It can only exist while the leaders exact horrible punishment for the slightest deviance. No normal human beings would live under Islamic rule without the threat of being horribly murdered.

This is a bald faced BS lie!!!!

Every person in this country is tried before a jury of their peers. If they are given the death sentence it is then, usually, re-examined by a court or board to make sure that it is a valid conviction. The convict will spend 15 to 20 years with all the various state and federal appeals. Before that are executed for their crime.

None of that is afforded to convicted in Saudi.

Western Civilization has had the gift of Christianity for over 1900 years. As such we assume that those individuals whom we meet are somewhat civil. The Muslims remain in the 7th Century AD and have not had the gift that has guided us.

Extraordinary images of the

Barren land, dams with no water reaching them, boats anchored in dried-up reservoirs and shrinking lake levels. These extraordinary images show the devastating impact the worst droughts in decades is having on the American West - and forecasters have predicted it is likely to continue. Around 430,000 acres of land will be left fallow in California - because there hasn´t been enough rain or snow coming from the nearby mountain ranges. Farmers - who are daily facing the prospect of losing their jobs and everything they have - are hoping for relief this winter, but the situation still remains dire.

Tony Blair is right. Before you harrumph and turn away, listen to his argument. It is--in short--that there is a global threat from militant Islamism. That it is spreading--and it is getting worse. And that we must act. It is clear that there is a fundamental problem with radical Islamism; clear that it is deep; clear that the solutions are not easy or presently to hand; clear that this is the work of a generation, not an election cycle; and clear--most important of all--that this is "our" challenge and not simply "theirs". For the past few weeks, we have witnessed the grotesque spectacle of three Britons paraded before us by the Islamic State (Isil), one murdered on camera, another on his knees and threatened with the same, and the third compelled to recite propaganda. [Snip] But imagine if Isil held as many as 50 of our own. How would we then respond? Would we still have despatched Tornados over Iraqi skies and urged the SAS into action? For Turkey, this is no hypothetical scenario. In June, Isil seized 46 Turkish diplomats as it blitzed through the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. Faced with

Turkey has begun to close some of its border crossings with Syria after about 130,000 Kurdish refugees entered the country over the weekend. On Sunday Turkish security forces clashed with Kurds protesting in solidarity with the refugees. Some protesters were reportedly trying to go to Syria to fight Islamic State (IS). Most refugees are from Kobane, a town threatened by the advancing militants. IS has taken over large swathes of Iraq and Syria in recent months. Before the latest influx, there were already more than one million Syrian refugees in Turkey. They have fled since the start of the uprising against Syrian President Bashar

Kurdish fighters have issued an urgent call to arms amid warnings of an impending massacre by the Islamic State terrorist group in northern Syria. The Kurdish People´s Protection Unit (YPG) has been locked in a fierce battle with IS and other Islamist groups almost since the start of Syria´s civil war. Despite being relatively isolated and receiving no foreign aid from any states the YPG has proven perhaps the most effective force in pushing back against IS. But as the jihadis´ focus shifts to consolidating power in northern Syria the Kurds have found themselves under fiercer attack than ever.

Mr Cameron called on Mr Miliband to drop his opposition to Tory plans for ‘English votes for English laws’ to match devolved powers for Scotland, which have been promised now the Scots have voted to reject independence.

The attack made France the first foreign country to publicly add military muscle to United States airstrikes against the terrorist group, which has drawn criticism around the world and in a unanimous UN Security Council resolution for its barbarity. French President Francois Hollande said the target was "entirely destroyed." Dozens of extremist fighters were also killed in the four strikes, according to Iraq´s military spokesman.

Western states defeated a Russian proposal on Friday to remove Syria´s alleged past nuclear activities from the agenda of meetings of the UN atomic agency, diplomats said. But in a vote that highlighted how polarizing the global political debate has become, China supported Russia´s initiative while only about half of the nations on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board - 17 out of 35 - voted against. Western diplomats argued that Damascus should be kept under pressure to cooperate with the IAEA´s long-stalled inquiry, even though this has hardly advanced in the last three years as the country descended into bloodshed.

There was a tone of fatalism in the comments of many with whom I spoke; they despair that the kind of radical change they advocate probably won’t result from the normal democratic process. It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.
