Could a melting Antarctica
threaten the Sunshine State?

Tampa Tribune, by William D. Balgord

Original Article

Posted By:Hazymac, 8/22/2014 12:43:48 PM

Reuters recently warned us of rising seas based on accelerated melting of the West Antarctic ice sheet. If true, Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico waters could flood Florida’s beaches in as little as a few decades. On the heels of the National Climate Assessment (NCA), White House adviser John Podesta is corralling public support for EPA’s CO2 regulations that will increase everybody’s electric rates without significantly reducing future temperatures. A pillar in his argument is CO2’s alleged role in warming the oceans and melting polar icecaps, causing the seas to rise. But what about the ice sheet? It is firmly

Comments:
Here´s an encouraging editorial essay. Little by little the pro-humanity and anti-Green-Luddite faction is striking back at the likes of Steyer, Mann, Gore, Obama, Hansen. Polar ice caps are increasing, and ideas of Florida being submerged by ocean water are being tagged as hysterical and anti-science. Real science, that is.

I guess. If Antarctica was melting...but, that ice just keeps on getting bigger, wider, colder every year. Kind of strange, huh? Natures is so fickle when you are trying to use her to conquer the world.

What a erroneously based article. My goodness, the Antarctic has 1.092 million square kilometers of ice than is normal, which is 7.5% above normal.

What are these people thinking?

"It is now pretty clearly agreed that the C02 content will rise 25% by 2000. This could increase the average temperature near the earth´ s surface by 7 degrees Fahrenheit. This in turn could raise the level of the sea by 10 feet. Goodbye New York.
Goodbye Washington, for that matter. We have no data on Seattle."

Hat tip to the author of this article for challenging the propaganda of man-caused CO2 as the dominant cause of any observed increase in global surface temperature (of which there has been none since 1997).

His concise statement of the current status is:

"In the language of climate science, the models being misapplied to formulate energy policy lack “skill.”

"These failures spring from a lack of adequate understanding of the physical processes taking place on and above the Earth’s surface. It is the processes, not the models, which determine our weather in the near term and changing climates over decades and longer.

"Making decisions based on ineffective models should be viewed as suspect for the purposes of setting federal policies that will assure higher utility costs for Florida residents and elevated risk of brownouts, without reducing beach erosion."

It´s been getting warmer since 1850. CO2 has been increasing since 1850. => CO2 causes warming. OR warming causes CO2. OR both are the result of a 3rd, 4th, 5th ...? factors.

Correlation is NOT causation. It seems at least 50% of the population are right brainers, with no ability to think critically.

It´s like the Supreme Court deciding public interest is the same as public use. One is a specific subset of the other.

Or all humans are women, because all women are human.

Is it “kinetic military action”? Is it an “extended counterterrorism operation”? Is it war? Nah. Never war. (Snip) “War” would mean that America was actually out to win against ISIS/ISIL/ISI?. So far only ISIS has announced the intention of beating America. America just wants to manage ISIS/ISIL/ISI?. A bombing doesn’t make a war any more than Pearl Harbor did. And like Bluto said, ‘was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?’ No way. It ain’t over. It ain’t even war. The only ‘war’ the world today is the War Against Ebola and the world is losing that.
