State Department´s Ostrich
Strategy for ISIL

Were the world not in such a perilous condition, State Department occasional spokeswoman Marie Harf would be welcome comic relief. Wearing a tight sweater yesterday, the young Ms. Harf took to the podium of the State Department press briefing room and refused to acknowledge that the United States is at war with ISIS. No matter what ISIS may say about being at war with us, if we stick our heads in the ground and refuse to ackbnowledge it, then I guess we won’t be at war, in Ms. Harf’s view. President Obama needs to come out from the skirts he´s hiding behind (every fresh behind the ears campaign-aide turned info-babe, ValJar, Susan Rice, et al). It´s time to man up, if he has it in him. What a passive, pathetic cypher of a human being he is showing himself to be. Do we have a policy--foreign or domestic--other than ignore, pacify, golf, fund raise, golf and redistribute? I can´t watch the sorority spokes-girls duck and dodge any longer. They make me as ill as he does.

The big haired blond in the tight sweater has to be John Kerry´s DC squeeze. No serious SoS could allow someone who is so oblivious to her own lies to represent such an important federal department.

Then again, Kerry isn´t a serious SoS, nor was his predecessor. Which means, that the president who selected Kerry & Clinton is far less serious than anyone could imagine. Or simply, Obama doesn´t select anyone who is viewed as smarter than he is, so all of cabinet and regulatory appointees have to be shockingly dumb.

Resentment over the arrogance of ruling elites has boiled over. While reports of air rage in the United States are increasingly common, the phenomenon of resentment over the indignities of contemporary air travel is global. On the opening weekend of the 2014 NFL season, 1696 players suited up for game one. Of these, 1694 are in their twenties and thirties. Based on a survey I did of the AFC South division a few years ago, roughly 1170 of these players are African American. A few have gotten into trouble lately. (snip)What the media rarely discuss, and then only gingerly, is how black NFL players have fared compared to young black men not in the NFL. The answer, unfortunately, is much too well. According to the Bureau of Justice statistics, one in three black men can expect

Crime in Baltimore is dropping like a pile of hot rocks. And Elliott Einbinder knows the reason why: It is hard to get arrested there. The case was turned over to a commissioner who decides whether to press charges and issue a warrant for the attacker to appear in court -- you

Doesn’t anyone in the White House bother to think about the metaphors they use? In the wake of the awful, disgusting, hideous, XXX rated (for violence) video of David Haines being beheaded, carving his head off his shoulders, Barack Obama releases a statement with the most inappropriate metaphor possible: The United States stands shoulder to shoulder tonight with our close friend and ally in grief and resolve. Are they trying to be funny? Is there some demon inside the Obamas that is making them do things like commemorate 911 this year by sending Michelle to be photographed with a group named KaBOOM? Nations are much like living organisms. One fundamental function of life is to tell the difference between friends and foes. When a nation fails to do that it will soon die. For more than two centuries the United States has known how to tell friend from foe, because we’ve had a robust sense of identity -- we understood how “a nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal” would be tested over and over again, by enemies foreign and domestic, to see “whether any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure.” The West

The Ivanpah solar generating plant is located in California about 50 miles from Las Vegas near the California-Nevada border. 173,000 mirrors are used to concentrate the sun on 3 boiler-towers where water is turned into steam to drive turbines and generate electricity. The mirrors track the sun and concentrate sunlight so that the intensity of light falling on the boiler-towers is about 500 times stronger than sunlight -- a death ray. If a person were to be illuminated by this death ray, 3rd degree burns would follow within a few seconds. Insects that wander into the kill zone are quickly

The Democratic Party and the mainstream media joined to run interference for Barack Obama when he became a national figure. Obama was painted as a charismatic, competent, new kind of politician. The passage of time destroyed this image. Now, the public increasingly sees Obama as incompetent, untrustworthy and unmotivated. Supporters are now in an awkward position. Do they continue to support what is increasingly seen as an inept president or do they turn against him? Continuing the subterfuge is dangerous. Lending credibility to an incredible man is a certain way to destroy one’s own validity. Obama, once considered a savior and asset

If we should be attacked by terrorists who come across our unprotected, undefended southern border, and should Americans die in any such attack, we would do well to understand for what those lives were lost. They would have been spent for the ability of illegal aliens to cast illegal votes for politicians doing illegal things. While both parties are to some degree to blame for the porousness of our southern border, the party that has the singular ability to solve the problem via the levers of government, the Democrats, is ensuring that the problem becomes so pervasive and vast that

First Lady Michelle Obama has made healthy eating and exercise her signature issue. But, a recent study published by the Sage Journal found that her “elitist” advice actually “shames poor and middle class mothers.” The College Fix added that the study found that Michelle Obama’s healthy eating program is also sexist. It’s also sexist, the study’s authors suggest, noting that “intentionally or not, it places the burden of a healthy home-cooked meal on women.” Sage Journals published the study by North Carolina researchers Sarah Bowen, Sinikka Elliott and Joslyn Brenton. Washington - The current threat posed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, will test not only the resolve and strategic judgment of America and its allies, but also our nation’s fidelity to a basic constitutional principle. Our Constitution reserves to Congress the power to declare war and designates our president as the commander in chief, but our recent history has been characterized by executive overreach and legislative abdication in the initiation of military action. The current crisis gives us an opportunity to restore the proper balance between the branches. America’s history since 2001 should compel us to fix the way

I don´t blame Rubio for not discussing whether he indulged n his youth or not. He is a public official with young children and carries a different responsibility than the rest of us. My own experience with marijuana was somewhat similar
