ALBANY — John Lennon’s killer is up for parole for the eighth time — and for the eighth time, Yoko Ono is fighting his release. Mark David Chapman, serving a 20 year-to-life sentence at upstate Wende Correctional Facility for the Dec. 8, 1980, shooting of the Beatle, is awaiting his fate after being interviewed by state parole officials this week. A decision could be announced as early as Friday. It’s not expected he’ll be released. Chapman, 59, has had a clean prison record since 1994, but in the past the parole board has said his release would “undermine respect for

I don´t often agree with Ono, but this time I´m with her. The murdering waste of oxygen Chapman should stay where he is. He´s used to it now and his people are used to not having his bulk taking up space. He should just keep on adding to his ´´model prisoner´´ persona. ALL parole for ALL murders undermines the criminal justice system.

Keep Chapman behind bars.
Maybe put Yoko in the cell with him?

Maybe it´s just my twisted mind, but why do "celebrities" often live outside of what they preach? I think this guy is a CWS (complete waste of skin, as my dad used to say)and earned a much quicker death--not at the taxpayers´ expense. However, "Imagine", a signature song of John Lennon, is all about no borders, boundaries, or hang-ups. So, why can´t Yoko just imagine how free Chapman should be? When it comes right down to it, progressivism for these celebrities is wonderful until it affects their own lives.

Head Start, the federal preschool program for low-income kids, is a politician’s favorite. They regard the sum of the money poured into Head Start as the measurement of the depth of their concern “for the children.” No wonder it’s costing $8 billion a year. There’s no limit to the concern the right-minded have “for the children.” For all that money, we’re not getting much. This is the conclusion in a working paper by the National Bureau of Economic Research. The bureau is unable to find lasting benefits for the 900,000 children enrolled in the program. When children who attend Head Start begin

There are still two months until Election Day in November—but, today, ballots are already on their way to voters in North Carolina. For voters in many key battleground states, Election Day can come far sooner than the first Tuesday in November, a fact that scrambles the calculus for candidates and has both parties investing heavily in turnout operations. More than a third of the 2014 electorate is expected to cast ballots early this year, and they´re starting to do it very soon. Democrats have enjoyed a ground-game advantage in past elections, and have put $60 million behind their field efforts in 10

Black caliphate flags flap in the open air. Islamic head-choppers wreak bloody havoc around the world. Nearly a dozen commercial airliners disappear in Libya. And America’s immigration and entrance systems remain in shambles. Now is a good time to ask a question I first posed ten summers ago: Where is Adnan Shukrijumah? A decade later, the question is still unanswered. The FBI has yet to track down this homicidal plotter. Have you forgotten? Saudi-born Shukrijumah, billed as the “next Mohammed Atta,” has been a fugitive since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. His father, Gulshair, was a Wahhabi cleric funded by the Saudi government.

When it comes to middle-aged sex and betrayal, women with Kennedy blood in their veins give as good as they get. For years, Maria Shriver, 58, who last year signed on as an NBC “special anchor’’ after a nearly decade-long break from the tube, played the victim. She presented herself as the long-suffering wife of actor-turned-politician-turned-actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, 67. California’s Austrian-born then-governor admitted publicly in 2011 that he fathered a love child, now 16, with the family’s housekeeper, Mildred Baena, now 53 — a boy who was born just five days after Shriver gave birth to his half-brother. Shock! Scandal! Now it seems

Even the Daily Beast can’t keep up the pretense that a government shutdown is in the offing: If you listen to congressional Democrats, they will tell you that we are just days away from a Republican-led government shutdown. Republicans, they would have you believe, would take such a drastic action in retaliation over President Obama’s expected amnesty that would allow millions of undocumented aliens to stay in the United States without fear of deportation. To show their disapproval, the thinking goes, the Republicans would shut the government down in an act of petulance to retaliate against Obama and show their

He is the international program director for Greenpeace, the nonprofit that is arguably the world’s most high-profile environmental advocacy organization. Mr. Husting’s weekly commute prompted a chorus of derision from Greenpeace opponents after “Flygate” was revealed in Dutch media this summer.
