Sacramento patient tests negative
for Ebola after West Africa visit

Los Angeles Times, by Ryan Parker

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 8/22/2014 12:50:12 AM

A patient at the Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center who was potentially exposed to the Ebola virus has tested negative, hospital officials confirmed Thursday night. The unidentified patient was being cared for in a specially equipped negative pressure room while tests were ongoing, officials said. It is unclear when the patient arrived at the facility or when the possible exposure to the virus occurred, but it did happen in West Africa, officials said. No specific information about the patient, including the name or gender, has been released. Kaiser was working with the Sacramento County Division of Public Health

Comments:
Yesterday, when I posted this story from the LA Times, they left out the part about patient having been to West Africa (which means a plane flight). No other info is given here, yet we know the name & home address of the officer that the LSM wants lynched by black vigilantes. This all at the behest of 0bama & Holder´s racist Justice department.

Sunni radicals fighting on behalf of the Islamic State in Iraq have been on the receiving end of at least 30 F/A-18s bombing runs that originated from the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier. Rear Adm. DeWolfe Miller, commander of Carrier Strike Group Two, told reporters by phone from the Arabian Gulf that artillery positions, convoys and other strategic targets have been destroyed by the jets, which carry GBU-54 500-pound, laser-guided bombs, the military blog Defense Tech reported Wednesday. When asked about the kind of anti-aircraft weapons that the Islamic State may have, the admiral only replied “We can handle whatever they have,”

The family of slain photojournalist James Foley received a call from Pope Francis on Thursday. Sunni radicals with the Islamic State group beheaded him on Tuesday. A spokesman for the Vatican said that the family was “deeply moved and grateful,” NBC reported. When James Foley, a Catholic who attended Marquette University, was captured by Muammar Gaddafi’s forces in 2011, he said that prayer helped him through the ordeal. In a letter he wrote to the university, he explained, “I began to pray the rosary. It was what my mother and grandmother would have prayed. I said 10 Hail Marys between each Our Father.

The Islamic State press officer who taunted the Obama administration by saying the terrorist group would “raise the flag of Allah” in the White House is now dead. Abu Mosa was killed by Syrian forces loyal to dictator Bashar Assad, whose regime also is fighting against the Islamic State, which began as part of the anti-government militia there and is accordingly also known by the acronyms ISIL and ISIS. “An #ISIS leader and press officer both killed in Tabqa Airbase attack in #Syria,” the State Department said Thursday via one of its Twitter accounts, @ThinkAgain_DOS, which tells “truths about terrorism” to encourage Muslims to “turn

After the killing of three of its senior commanders by Israel, Hamas vowed early Friday that it would be “strengthened” in its quest “to lift the siege on Gaza” and “liberate Jerusalem and Palestine from the neo-Nazi occupier who destroys houses and kills women and children.” Hours after the targeted strike on the Hamas commanders, Ismail Haniyeh, the former head of the Hamas regime in Gaza, released a statement that was read aloud by the Hamas television network. Haniyeh said that Hamas “was saddened over the deaths of our brothers and commanders who went on the path of great ones.”

In response to a series of scandals involving mistreatment of children under state supervision, Gov. Jerry Brown on Thursday signed into law new rules giving county social workers access to the criminal histories of foster parents and employees at foster care contractors before abused and neglected children are placed in their care. The legislation, SB 1136, comes in response to Times reports documenting instances when children were harmed and taxpayer money was allegedly misspent by people with criminal backgrounds who had been granted special waivers from the state to receive foster children.

Krauthammer: Debate over American
boots on the ground in Iraq a ´red herring´

Charles Krauthammer said Thursday on "Special Report with Bret Baier" that controversy surrounding the idea of putting American troops on the ground in Iraq is a "red herring," adding the U.S. needs to instead launch an air war against the Islamic State militants. Krauthammer, a syndicated columnist and a Fox News contributor, said there is "no reason" the U.S. cannot provide air cover for the boots already on the ground helping the Peshmerga, the Kurds and the special forces of Iraq fight the terrorists. "It’s about a war on these people which doesn’t mean boots on the ground," he said.

The assassination of three of Hamas’s most important military commanders in an Israeli air strike is the worst and most painful blow dealt to the movement’s armed wing, Izzadin Kassam, in recent years. The last time Izzadin Kassam suffered a major blow was when Israel killed its general commander, Ahmed Jabari, in November 2012. The killing of the three Hamas commanders in a pre-dawn strike on a house in Rafah came less than 48 hours after the IAF targeted a house in Gaza City where Muhammad Deif, Izzadin Kassam’s “chief of staff,” was believed to be staying together with his wife and children.

Brand new media company Time Inc. just got itself a brand new lawsuit. A former senior editor is suing People magazine, its parent company Time Inc., and her former boss Betsy Gleick for racial discrimination. Tatsha Robertson, a former Boston Globe reporter, filed the suit in Manhattan Federal Court on Wednesday. Robertson claims that she was the only black senior editor in the magazine’s history until she was laid off in May, and that only four of its “approximately” 110 employees are black. Robertson specifically named People’s executive editor Betsy Gleick in the suit, saying Gleick told her in an early performance evaluation to

There have already been lessons learned from what’s happening in Ferguson, says Sen. Protests first erupted after a police officer shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown on August 9. Though there are conflicted reports on exactly what happened,

Washington - President Obama´s decision to exchange captive Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Guantanamo Bay detainees violated federal law, according to a legal opinion the Government Accountability Office sent to Congress Thursday. That´s because the administration failed to notify Congress at least 30 days before the transfer, as required under a law passed in February. The Pentagon notified Congress of the deal on May 31, the same day the transfer was made. And because Congress did not authorize spending for the exchange, it also violated the Antideficiency Act, a law intended to protect Congress´s power of the purse.

A federal judge’s "flawed" decision declaring California’s enforcement of the death penalty unconstitutional will be appealed, state Atty. Gen. Kamala D. Harris announced Thursday. Harris will ask the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn last month’s ruling by U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney, who said decades-long delays and uncertainty about whether inmates will be executed violated the Constitution’s ban on cruel or unusual punishment. Harris personally opposes the death penalty but promised voters she would enforce it. Carney’s ruling sparked national attention. He noted that more than 900 people have been

When it comes to combatting ISIS, the Obama administration has precious few successes to talk about. So today it touted a failure: U.S. Special Operations forces staged an unsuccessful operation this summer to rescue photojournalist James Foley and other Americans being held in Syria by Islamic State militants, according to senior Obama administration officials. The attempt, involving several dozen U.S. commandos, one of whom was injured in a fierce firefight with the militants, was the first known U.S. ground operation in Syria since the country’s descent into civil war. It came after at least six European hostages freed by the

It turns out that there are some good reasons why the former Governor and GOP Presidential nominee is allowing his name to be circulated as a potential candidate in 2016. Some of those good reasons can be found in a new poll by Zogby Analytics showing him outpolling his nearest rivals for the nomination by about two to one. The poll of 315 likely Republican primary voters was conducted online on August 13-15 and has a margin of sampling error of +/-5.6 percentage points. Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that his Justice Department is opening a criminal investigation into the brutal execution by Islamic State militants of American journalist James Foley, in the latest move by the administration to use the criminal justice system to pursue terrorists. The announcement comes as the administration steps up its airstrike campaign against the same militant organization -- and mulls additional American boots on the ground in Iraq. Holder, during remarks in Washington, confirmed the "open criminal investigation" into Foley´s beheading, which was recorded and posted online this week. Global warming has been temporarily ´paused´ according to a group of scientists, who attribute this interlude to climate fluctuations and a more restrained sun. Researchers at ETH Zurich have explained the two reasons behind the warming hiatus in their study published in the latest issue of the journal Nature Geoscience. The first is that global temperatures, which rose significantly in the 1990s, have only risen very slightly since 1998 - which has been used by sceptics to question climate change and the models used to measure it. However, climate fluctuations such as El Niño and its counter-phenomenon La Niña have
