Immigration Malpractice
Weekly Standard, by Peter Skerry

Original Article

For over a generation now, America’s elites have willfully ignored a substantial segment of the public that has misgivings about ever-increasing levels of immigration. Whenever possible these elites—in the academy, religious institutions, the media, politics, and business—have responded to such misgivings with platitudes about our status as “a nation of immigrants,” conveniently overlooking the four decades of the 20th century when the gates were substantially closed. When such evasive tactics have proved ineffective, immigration advocates have routinely denounced those who resist their agenda as racist xenophobes—and continued to pry open the flood-gates to unskilled as well as skilled migrants.

This is tripe! The US is not responsible for the mess south of our borders.

A bunch of baloney. All the criminal aliens and violent gang members who were deported back to those Banana Republics were citizens of those countries. If the USA had not deported the 129,000 convicted alien criminals and violent gang members back to where they came from, the USA would have an additional 129,000 convicted criminals and violent gang members on the streets of the big cities. Who known, since Obama stopped effectively enforcing the immigration laws they may have all came back into the USA and now are conducting criminal activity across America.

President Obama raises more questions
than answers with statement on ISIS´
killing of James Foley

President Obama interrupted his vacation Wednesday to say the killing of U.S. journalist James Foley by ISIS "has shocked the conscience of the entire world" and declare that the Islamist extremist group will "ultimately fail" because its ideology is bankrupt. "The one thing we can agree on is a group like ISIL has no place in the 21st century," Obama declared. Then he left to go play golf. Again.

Appalling

The president is appalled. Indeed he said this afternoon that "the entire world is appalled by the brutal murder of Jim Foley by the terrorist group, ISIL." The act of violence that killed Jim Foley, the president continued, "shocks the conscience of the entire world." What happens in the age of Obama to a group that does something that appalls and shocks the conscience of the entire world? Nothing. President Obama said that "no just God would stand for what they did yesterday, and for what they do every single day." I am no theologian. I pray that the president is right. But I know that we cannot sit back and wait for a just God to bring evildoers to judgment here below.

When an accountant prepares a balance sheet for a company, the purpose is to measure the firm´s actual financial health, as opposed to the fantasies pushed by the public relations department gnomes. Sales may be up 10 percent, but that doesn´t mean much if the company is swimming in debt, operational expenses are out of control and the bank says forget about getting more credit.

One of Obama´s big ideas for reforming

In President Obama’s June 2009 speech to the American Medical Association (now infamous for containing the most emphatic articulation of his promise that people who liked their health care plan could keep it), he described how his legislation would reform the way medical providers are paid. “We need to bundle payments so you aren´t paid for every single treatment you offer a patient with a chronic condition like diabetes, but instead paid well for how you treat the overall disease,” Obama told the crowd of physicians.

President Obama has so far been a major disappointment to even his most ardent supporters, his approval numbers steadily falling to fresh lows. And the president is apparently such a disappointment, that the Billings Gazette in Montana felt compelled last week to apologize to its readers for endorsing him in 2008 over Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

President Barack Obama reacted to the on-camera slaying of photojournalist James Foley for five minutes on Wednesday, telling a global audience that ´when people harm Americans, anywhere, we do what’s necessary to see that justice is done.´ Minutes later he began a five-hour round at Farm Neck Golf Course on Martha´s Vineyard for his seventh visit to the links, so far, during a vacation that began August 9. The decision brought a chorus of condemnation from TV commentators, journalists, conservative partisans and Twitter denizens – and even an unintentional slap from the left-leaning New York Times. He had just hung up the telephone with the devastated parents before heading in front of the cameras. Unusually emotional, President Obama declared himself “heartbroken” by the brutal murder of an American journalist, James Foley, and vowed to “be relentless” against Islamic radicals threatening to kill another American. But as soon as the cameras went off, Mr. Obama headed to his favorite golf course on Martha’s Vineyard, where he is on vacation, seemingly able to put the savagery out of his mind. He spent the rest of the afternoon on the links even as a firestorm of criticism erupted over

President Obama has few remaining friends—either in his own party or in the media. That’s the unmistakable conclusion of two pieces this week in the New York Times. Just about everyone, it seems, is down on his single, solitary nature.I’ve been saying for a year now that the president’s liberal media allies have soured on him. It started with the ObamaCare debacle and continued through his seeming passivity or slow reaction time in the wake of the VA scandal, the Bowe Bergdahl mess, the military collapse in Iraq and so on. At this point they’re basically Waiting for Hillary. What is striking

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) suggested that Republican candidates in this year´s midterm elections should run on granting a pathway to citizenship for all of the country´s illegal immigrants. Ryan, who had reportedly been working behind the scenes with Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) to get House Republicans to support a broader immigration bill, said that he was "having problems" convincing conservatives to support immigration reform, which he said was "very important." In a Wednesday interview with Bloomberg News, Ryan said he supported a "path to legalization" for all of the country´s illegal immigrants. He said illegal immigrants should be able to "earn citizenship"

I’ve stayed out of the Ferguson controversy. I don’t know enough to know who, exactly, is to blame in Ferguson. (Snip) That said, here is something I do know, and that I think would benefit readers as they assess the growing animosities in Missouri: I’ve long studied the antics of the American Communist Party, from literally the very beginning. I’ve sat in archives and stared at the first documents that American communists excitedly sent from their offices at 1219 Blue Island Avenue in Chicago to Soviet Comintern headquarters in Moscow. I’ve spent hundreds of hours reading old copies of the Soviet-funded

Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that his Justice Department is opening a criminal investigation into the brutal execution by Islamic State militants of American journalist James Foley, in the latest move by the administration to use the criminal justice system to pursue terrorists. The announcement comes as the administration steps up its airstrike campaign against the same militant organization -- and mulls additional American boots on the ground in Iraq. Holder, during remarks in Washington, confirmed the "open criminal investigation" into Foley´s beheading, which was recorded and posted online this week. "Those who would perpetrate such acts need to understand something --

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is narrating a new series about climate change that is being released ahead of a United Nations climate summit next month. DiCaprio, a staunch environmentalist, and Tree Media launched the Green World Rising series of short films, all centering around certain aspects of climate change. The first film in the series, titled "Carbon," calls for more federal action to control carbon dioxide pollution. “We cannot sit idly by and watch the fossil fuel industry make billions at our collective expense. We must put a price on carbon — now,” DiCaprio said in a statement. The eight-minute long

The Washington Post editorial board said Friday it will stop using the word “Redskins” when referring to Washington’s football team, joining a growing list of other commentators who have renounced the term because they believe it disparages Native Americans. In a statement, the board said, “While we wait for the NFL to catch up with public opinion and common decency we have decided not to use the slur ourselves except when it is essential for clarity or effect.” The editorial board is separate from the news-gathering side of the organization, which executive editor Marty Baron said will continue to use the team’s
