Obamacare challengers to D.C. Circuit:
Let Supreme Court decide where
subsidies should flow

Washington Times, by Tom Howell Jr.

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 8/21/2014 11:44:23 AM

Obamacare challengers have asked a federal appeals court to stand down and let the Supreme Court decide whether the government may give subsidies to people who used the federal health exchange, a standoff that threatens to upend the health overhaul. The Court of Appeals for the Circuit of the District of Columbia previously ruled against President Obama in a 2-1 decision that said subsidies may only flow to health exchanges set up by states, based on a phrase in the Affordable Care Act that suggests that is what Congress intended. The ruling invalidated an IRS rule that extended subsidies to exchanges in every state.

Comments:
This has been all too confusing to me as to understanding how 0bama can change written law (unconstitutionally) by executive orders. If this fails and the US Supreme Court rules against him, as a god, he can use his secret weapon, "ecclesiastic orders." Of course, then there would be the problem of "separation of church and state," even if he is a Muslim in hiding.

Obama DOES NOT have the statutory authority to rewrite laws. Leave that to Roberts and the rest of the RINO and liberal clowns in the judicial system.

Attorneys representing the wife and children of slain Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo on Thursday described a "difficult and intolerable" home life marred by years of domestic violence that culminated in a fight this week that left the politician dead. (Snip) The mayor punched the teen in the face, prompting his wife to grab Crespo´s handgun and shoot him three times in the upper body, said sheriff´s Lt. Turkey approves military operations

Turkey´s parliament voted 298-98 on Thursday in favor of launching military operations across the border in Syria and Iraq, in a bid to combat the self-proclaimed "Islamic State" (IS). Despite opposition from two parties, many had viewed passage of the motion as a foregone conclusion. The legislation comes as IS attacks have caused thousands to flee the Syrian town officially known as Ayn al-Arab, but called Kobani by its Kurdish majority population, across the border from Turkey, despite airstrikes by the US-led coalition on the group´s positions in Syria since last week and in Iraq since early August.

Reuters correspondent Arshad Mohammed caught State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki in a trap with a pointed line of questioning regarding the Obama administration’s knowledge of and response to the rise of ISIL. “Is the basic point you’re trying to make that you–that the administration fully grasped the threat posed by ISIL and took aggressive and effective action to confront that threat from the beginning of the year?” Mohammed asked. “Is that what you’re trying to argue?” “Yes,” Psaki said. “If that’s the case, if your actions were so effective and so aggressive, how is it that since the beginning of the year

It has happened. It´s here," Matthews said. Dr. Emanuel said there is some "fear mongering" going on here, but Matthews said he was just quoting the president and stating facts. Who’ll be the next attorney general? Washington’s favorite parlor game is filling Cabinet vacancies; I like playing as much as the next pundit. (Keep reading!) Still, the more telling question is: Why are we playing this game at all? Why wasn’t the White House, which knew for months that Eric H. Holder Jr. was itching to leave, ready to roll with a successor? More important, given Holder’s foot inching toward the door, why did it not time this departure more intelligently — rather than having it arrive just before an election and the prospect of Democrats losing control of the Senate?

Cover Oregon was supposed to be a shining example of ObamaCare at its best. The state insurance exchange for the state of Oregon received $300 million in federal grants to launch a state-of-the-art website. But it never worked, and not a single Oregonian was able to sign up for health care from start to finish. So now, Oregon is in the process of pulling the plug on the site and switching over to the federal exchange and HealthCare.gov -- but the question is, how quickly they can do it. “We need to move forward and do the best thing for the people of Oregon,” Republican State Sen. Tim Knopp said, “and I think that’s ending Cover Oregon as

President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. And that is right and proper. Because not only was his excuse of blaming us a lie, but when questioned on his lie, White House press secretary Josh Earnest doubled down with a whole new lie — both of which are easily, publicly proven false. On Sunday, Obama said the intelligence community had underestimated the rise of ISIS, saying in an interview

Former President Jimmy Carter claimed Wednesday that he would have been re-elected and beaten Ronald Reagan in 1980 if had been more “manly” in his dealings with Iran. Interviewed by the show "CNBC Meets," Carter repeated his belief that the failed mission to free American hostages held in Tehran killed his chances, but then added that had he gone to war, America would have rewarded him with a second term in 1980.

The Obama administration found itself scrambling on Tuesday to defend President Barack Obama for his lackluster 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings, a finding from a new report issued by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI). When asked about the GAI revelation on Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered and unprepared. "Well, I have no validation of those statistics," said Psaki. "There are a range of ways that you can get your intelligence briefings on the road, in the White House, and I know that he receives those whenever he can."

The quintessential question of Watergate was “what did the President know and when did he know it?” Obamagate, the vast scandal that encompasses an entire presidency, offers a preemptive answer. Kansas Tea Party supporters are threatening to sit out the state’s pivotal Senate election, potentially dealing another blow to the reelection hopes of Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.). President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus

Boehner applauded Bush’s ability to “talk about Republican issues better than most anybody that we’ve got out there,” approving of his “real record of reform” as Florida’s governor from 1999 to 2007. HOUSTON, Texas -- Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was found not guilty today by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. This is the highest appellate court in Texas for criminal cases and thus brings DeLay’s political persecution to an end. The court upheld the ruling last year from the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals. That decision tossed out the convictions on money laundering and conspiracy charges. At that time Justice Melissa Goodwin wrote “The fundamental problem with the state´s case was its failure to prove proceeds of criminal activity,” according to a September 19th report on Breitbart News.
