Holder opens criminal investigation

Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that his Justice Department is opening a criminal investigation into the brutal execution by Islamic State militants of American journalist James Foley, in the latest move by the administration to use the criminal justice system to pursue terrorists. The announcement comes as the administration steps up its airstrike campaign against the same militant organization -- and mulls additional American boots on the ground in Iraq. Holder, during remarks in Washington, confirmed the "open criminal investigation" into Foley´s beheading, which was recorded and posted online this week. "Those who would perpetrate such acts need to understand something --

Much to my horror, last night Catherine Herridge said this terrorist, if caught, would be tried here in the USA. I almost had a heart attack. We are doomed with this sick ideology driving the Obama regime.

Does anyone else see the parallels with the Clinton years when the U.S.S. Cole attack, and the embassy bombings were treated as "law enforcement actions?" That approach was followed by 9/11.

I pray for this country.

Criminal? You mean with full Constitutional rights including the right to a (taxpayer-funded) attorney, trial by a layperson jury and the presumption of innocence? Will the videotape be admissible? I think it´s questionable. It would certainly be challenged. This should be treated as an act of war, not a crime. Send a drone after this guy and bomb the rest of them.

Minimalizing this beheading heinous nature, Holder treats the incident like a streetcorner murder in Chicago. Do they not know we are at war with these people and by virtue of that, they are enemy combatants, not civil criminals?

Do we have a war on terror or not? That question needs to be asked of POTUS. If he says no, or waffles, we then know he is once again too frightened to act decisively in America´s best interests.

If he says yes, we have a war on terror, this case should never reach the US´s civil courts. It should finish as an assassination of the perpetrator, then a nifty, clean, swift elimination of ISIS on the ground, which should happen five minutes after we close both our borers.

In a sane world, that is a sane scenario. But we are forced to live in Obama´s nightmare which means we dare not sleep too soundly, especially without firearms under our pillows. If it won´t be Muslim terrorists breaking down our doors, it will be the Gentle Giants of the mean streets, given the green light by Holder, The Man Who Showed Up to sprinkle gasoline on the fire.

An American Courts trial for this savage? I am beyond outraged, but then I am white, so Obama and Holder get their wish to pi$$ me off again.

I would like America to be post-Obama, not post-racial. If this is what post-racial looks like, how about we go back to 2007?

Well when the 40 FBI agents that Holder sent to St. Louis finish their work there, they will need something to do, so maybe Holder will send them to Iraq and Syria to track down those ISIS criminals and terrorists.

I think we are better off giving that assignment to the US and UK special operations forces.

How to assess Eric Holder’s record and legacy as attorney general? Let’s start with what should be an obvious proposition: Holder’s policies and approach to the job were consistent with the person who appointed him — Barack Obama. Lest Republicans forget, Obama was elected and reelected to the presidency by large margins in 2008 and 2012. First, congressional accusations against Holder on the controversial “Fast and Furious” “gun walking” program have been proven factually wrong. According to a thorough review by the independent inspector general of the Department of Justice, Holder did not know about this
