BLOOMFIELD — City councilors unanimously voted on Wednesday to appeal a federal judge´s ruling stating a monument at City Hall inscribed with the Ten Commandments is unconstitutional. The city plans to appeal the judge´s decision to a three-judge panel with the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver. The 10th Circuit has territorial jurisdiction in six states — New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. Senior U.S. District Judge James A. Parker issued his ruling in the case on Aug. 7. In it, he stated the monument constitutes government speech and endorses a religion. He ordered the monument to

We have to stand against this. The pc atheists are everywhere, even small towns like Bloomfield, NM are not immune to the evil they propagate. America without God is lost, IMO.

Just which religion does it endorse?

The 10 Commandments are from Hebrew scriptures (Jewish) and incorporated into Bible (Christian).

So tell ´em to pound sand and ignore them.

Symbols and such that have been in place for most of a century and are now suddenly discovered to be wrong - that smacks of the complainer or complaining group wanting to re-interpret something that was known and accepted by the people who put the constitution in place, and clearly didn´t have such things in mind as a problem when writing the constitution.

What a miserable existence for those who spend their God given time working against him; and it´s got nothing to do with separation of church and state. Let them try to explain that one when their time comes. I pray they realize they are fighting a losing battle before it´s too late.

Appeal? How about ignore? Put the ball back into the hands of the liberal pantywaist judge who made the ruling and see if he sends in federal marshals to remove the monument.

"Godly" speech is now outlawed. Can´t say, "God Bless," if you are waving goodbye in a public school in USA. If you are abducted by ISIS ghouls and they take you to the American Embassy (overrun), you aren´t allowed to pray to Jesus before they cut off your head because you would violate RadLib ACLU Pro-AtheistIdeologicalReligion Doctrine.

The malware that caused a major breach for Target has struck again. Authorities are investigating the malware, known as "Backoff" that may have been found on the computer systems of some Dairy Queen restaurants. “We have been working on the situation for a couple of days," said Dean Peters, media spokesman for the Minneapolis-based fast-food chain. "The protection of customer data is a top priority for us and our franchisees, and we take it seriously. We, like many other companies, were recently notified that customer data at a limited number of stores may be at risk, due to the widespread

In June, in a sparsely populated county in northern New Mexico, a primary election surprisingly unseated an incumbent County Commissioner. No one seemed to notice. But, apparently, high-ranking Democrats to the north were paying attention. The northern New Mexico county is Mora. The high-ranking Democrats: from Colorado. The election upset was about Mora County´s oil-and-gas drilling ban. In April 2013, the Mora County Commission voted, 2 to 1, and passed the first-in-the-nation county-wide ban on all oil-and-gas drilling. It was spearheaded by Commission Chairman John Olivas—an environmental activist. Since then, two lawsuits have been filed against the little county because

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Demonstrators say they’re planning another protest at an Albuquerque Hobby Lobby. They’re protesting a U.S. Supreme Court decision made last month. The court says Hobby Lobby does not have to provide birth control coverage to employees. That’s because it violates the religious beliefs of the family who owns the privately-held company. The rally is set to take place at the store on Wyoming this evening from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.

George Herman “Babe” Ruth played his first Major League Baseball game 100 years ago Friday, marking the beginning of a legendary career and legacy that lasted decades. One hundred years after Ruth took to the Fenway Park mound and tossed seven innings against the Cleveland Naps, he is still known to any Pee Wee league player trying to break in a glove today as simply, "The Babe." Ruth, who was 19 and, according to one teammate, looked like a "big overgrown pea" at the start of the game, went on to play for 22 years, 15 of those with the

Some troubling realities have been revealed in a recent Bloomberg article. First, the idea that the hospitals, at government direction, are doing it for our own good so it’s okay. WASHINGTON — Kurdish fighters battling ISIS desperately want more guns and armor, but they already have a secret weapon: The fanatics they’re fighting fear that if they get killed in combat by a woman, they won’t go to heaven. “They have many female battalions, as you know who fought very bravely,” Rep. Royce, who met this week with the foreign minister of Kurdistan, cited recent reports of young female Kurdish troops “laughing” at ISIS forces they had turned back. “These ISIL soldiers apparently believed that if

In Friday´s New York Times, TV critic Alessandra Stanley discussed the two shows and slammed Hillary. During the Cold War, reporters would suggest a kinder, gentler Marxist regime was "communism with a human face." Stanley continued: "Téa Leoni, who has a husky voice and a loose, engaging manner, is an unusually likable beauty. It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.

I know a lot of people are giddy at the prospect of Republicans taking the Senate this November, but that’s becoming less and less likely. It’s not because Democrats are rallying around a particular mission or set of candidates; it’s because Republicans and conservatives aren’t. It seems like I’m always writing on issues no one wants to hear are mistakes, such as messaging or social issues. But I don’t care. These things have to be said. If these columns are received like a gaseous cousin on a long car trip through the desert, so be it. Crack a window… If things continue on their current course, the GOP will not retake the Senate.

Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

Three and a half months have come and gone and the Pentagon has offered no clarity on what happened to alleged Army deserter and Taliban collaborator Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Fellow soldiers and other critics fear the military’s now-delayed investigation is shaping up to be a whitewash. The case has become a political powder keg for President Obama. Since he traded five imprisoned Taliban leaders for Bergdahl, the US Government Accountability Office has declared the swap illegal, and nearly two dozen House Democrats have joined Republicans in officially condemning the move for making “Americans less safe.”

SALEM, N.H. — Voters have soured on President Obama. National and statewide trends favor Republicans. And here in his new home state, Scott Brown’s truck is gaining speed. Analysts and recent polls have found Brown closing in on US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Democratic incumbent he is vying to unseat, in a race that has become increasingly nasty and expensive. Once largely dismissed by critics as an unlikely second act in a state he moved to only last year, Brown’s Senate bid is increasingly seen as a plausible path back to the US Capitol. Observers see a race that may be largely determined
