Cheney: Obama Would ´Rather Be On The
Golf Course´ Than The Situation Room

Business Insider Magazine, by Colin Campbell

Original Article

Former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney strongly criticized President Barack Obama on Wednesday night for going golfing immediately after delivering a statement on the beheading of American journalist James Foley. "Every day we find new evidence that he’d rather be on the golf course than he would be dealing with a crisis that’s developing rapidly in the Middle East," Cheney declared during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity. Earlier in the day, Obama took a break from his vacation in Martha´s Vineyard to give an angry and emotional speech condemning the jihadist group ISIS and praising Foley´s career

Comments:
Barack 0bama´s legacy will be that he will break the record for standing around with his putter in his hand more than any other U.S. President.

Historic and unprecedented.

Well, who wouldn´t rather be playing golf than being in the situation room? However, most of us realize that dealing with dire events take precedence over playing.

I dunno. Fact is, he can probably damage the nation a whole lot less when he´s playing golf, dancing the night away, or getting "up close and personal" with Reggie Love, than when he´s in the Situation Room.

The United States informed Iran in advance of its intention to strike Islamic State militants in Syria and told Tehran that it would not target the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a senior Iranian official told Reuters. "Iran was concerned about Assad´s position and his government being weakened in case of any action against IS (Islamic State) in Syria and brought this issue up in meetings with Americans," a senior Iranian official said on condition of anonymity. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said those pushing for her to retire are “misguided,” arguing that President Obama could not appoint a similar replacement to the bench in an interview published Tuesday. Ginsburg, at 81, is the oldest member of the Court. Some on the left have suggested that she might retire while Obama is in office, to guarantee that a Democratic president could appoint her successor. Ginsburg has said before that she is "likely to remain for a while," but offered insight on her reasoning in an interview with Elle magazine. "[A]nybody who thinks that if I step

Hundreds of environmentalists plan to "shut down" the New York Stock Exchange later Tuesday to protest the relationship between global warming and Big Business. Scores of protesters had already gathered in lower Manhattan early Tuesday for an event dubbed #FloodWallStreet. They planned to march a few blocks north to Wall Street and stage a "sit-in" until forced to leave. Their beef: the fossil fuels industry and other companies are profiting at the expense of the environment. The activists said they were willing to be arrested to drive home the link between global capitalism and worsening climate change.

President Barack Obama, stumping for the Democrats ahead of November´s congressional elections, has twice invoked Ronald Reagan´s seminal campaign question: "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" Framing the debate like that helped Reagan twice - in 1980 when he beat incumbent Jimmy Carter, and then again in 1984 when he won re-election during an economic upswing. But a similar message has failed to resonate for Obama primarily for one reason: while he stresses the economy has improved in almost every aspect on his watch, average family incomes have slipped. Even though Republicans may take back the Senate by running against amnesty, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush pushed amnesty legislation while stumping for North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis on Wednesday. Bush, according to the New York Times, reportedly said that comprehensive immigration reform "will restore and sustain economic growth for this country." And even though a recent Gallup poll found that illegal immigration is now the top concern among Republicans, Bush said that if immigration reform is "framed in that way, I don’t think there’s a big debate in the Republican Party about the need to do this."
