The Islamic State’s campaign

WITH EACH day, the barbarism of the Islamist extremists terrorizing Syria and Iraq becomes more evident — as does the need for the United States and its allies to act more vigorously to block their rise. On Tuesday the group that calls itself the Islamic State released a video of the beheading of American journalist James Foley . Mr. Foley, as President Obama said Wednesday, “reported from difficult and dangerous places. .?.?. [He] courageously told the stories of his fellow human beings.” One reason there has been so little outcry as more than 150,000 Syrians have been killed and millions

...it seems that someone at WaPo is having and "adult" moment behind the keyboard...

...this administration has shucked and jived it way since inception and with Barry´s aptitude at dithering and delaying and refusal to confront the true evil that exists, I pray we get through this phase of history without the major lost of life on our homeland...

...the "blood and treasure" we lost in the sands of the middle east should never be forgotten...

The scariest part of this article is how ´surprised´ we were by the build-up of this terrorist group. Surely there are people in DC smarter than Obama and Valjar. What the H is going on.

Unless you want to be kneeling on a prayer rug five times a day words will need to be replaced with bullets and bombs at some point. Hopefully Captain Zero hasn’t reduced our military to an empty shell by that time.

Is it me or has the terrorist threat increased exponentially since Brennan has been the head of the CIA. It certainly seems we were caught flat footed by ISIS rise to power. Of course, we may very well have had the intelligence but Obama refused to act on it. Either way, it is evident the people who are running things in Washington seem incompetent to deal with theses barbarians. An average American off the streets could more responsibly make decisions to protect this country than the fools in Washington. There were many missed opportunities to stop ISIS before they gained so much power and no urgency from Obama to do so. Now they are richly funded and gaining members everyday. When will this president get his head out of the sand and acknowledge the threat they pose to everyone?

Hopefully we have some smart Republican strategists who are readying a campaign for 2014 and 2016 that will show all the horror that Obama has allowed to take place due to his efforts to weaken and marginalize America.

It may take some ghastly pictures before the low-fos "get it", but all this horror shouldn´t "go to waste" - to borrow part of a quote from Rahm Emanuel.

What next? Our southern border seems to be an open invitation to all who want to come in - even those who would love to slaughter every last American.

Perhaps ISIS warriors will enter into our country and do the same with kidnapped citizens as they did with Foley - in our own country - with cameras, clothes, weapons, etc. they secured within our country. That would be quite a video. (Any idea I could come up with "they´ve already thought of." They´re way ahead of us, unfortunately.)

Our strutting, grinning, golfing, partying president already has enough blood on his hands. This scenario seems unimaginable, but certainly within the realm of possibility. What is our ´dear leader´ doing about it? Nothing much; I´m convinced he doesn´t give a damn.

Large parts of Islam are already at war with the rest of the world. Groups like ISIL, AQ, Hamas, Hezbollah, BH, the Taliban, and others are basically all the same just different allegiances. The only reason to view them as different groups is just to prioritize which ones to go after first.

Its going to take real world leadership to avoid world war 3, but we got Obama. Obama just views them as groups with grievances and sympathizes with them and alienates our allies. Add in the tyrants in Russia and China who look to take advantage of the situation, and its really a bleak picture.

But our President Obola sends his acolytes out to denounce those of us who believe in the United States Constitution as "potential terrorists."

Just imagine how different this world would be, had President Obola´s worldview resulted in measures taken against the jihadist savages that are comparable to measures he fully supports for "defending" America against full-term baby girls trying to evade the abortionists´ death-tools.

To a small degree this lesson could be applied at home even though I would never want to see that.

I would posit that he´s already doing that -- except that the head he´s locking himself into is any golf course he can commandeer. The public and the press (and any potentially annoying questions, however unlikely), are barred; the few people accompanying him are fellow criminal cronies; he´s not required to say a single word; and he can take care of his dirty business (cheating, drinking, smoking this-and-that) in comparative privacy and with no consequences. And the moment he finishes a round he starts the next one.

Two suggestions:
* Since terrorists rely upon anonymity, America should hit them where it really hurts: the mosques of mullahs who preach jihad. Doesn´t matter where. Destroy numerous such mosques in Muslim countries and terrorist will be stopped by the mullahs.
* Think like a terrorist. Devastate the towns and cities of known terrorists.
Think World War II, not Vietnam.

BEIJING — Swelling crowds of pro-democracy demonstrators in Hong Kong on Monday plunged Asia’s normally staid financial hub into a tense standoff with Beijing that strikes directly at China’s expanding political grip in the former British colony. The rapidly escalating protests are aimed at forcing Beijing’s Communist leaders to abandon newly declared powers to weed out any candidates in upcoming Hong Kong elections. Yet many on the streets proclaimed they are fighting for something even bigger: preserving a vision of Hong Kong promised 17 years ago when it reverted to Chinese rule. U.S. policy leaders, including President Obama, were repeatedly warned for more than a year by the U.S. intelligence community that the Islamic State terror group was gaining significant strength in Syria and was on the verge of seizing territory deep inside Iraq, where the military was struggling to respond. The private assessments, which were confirmed to The Washington Times on Monday, conflict with Mr. Obama’s claim on national television over the weekend that America’s spies had underestimated the rise and capabilities of the Islamic State and had overestimated the Iraqi military’s ability and will to fight the group. Despite heavy

The Supreme Court’s conservatives cleared the way Monday for Ohio to restrict early voting in the state, on the eve of the day it was to start. The court granted the state’s request to stay decisions of lower courts that threw out the state’s new plan, passed by the Republican-led legislature. But the court’s four liberal justices said they would have stayed out of the case and left those decisions in place. Ohio argued that the new plan--reducing from 35 to 28 the number of days voters could cast an early ballot--could not be seen as violating the rights of

More than seven in 10 Americans say the United States will end up using its own combat troops against ISIS militants in Iraq and Syria, despite President Barack Obama’s assertion that U.S. combat troops won’t be on the ground there. The gunman parked his black Honda directly south of the White House, in the dark of a November night, in a closed lane of Constitution Avenue. He pointed his semiautomatic rifle out of the passenger window, aimed directly at the home of the president of the United States, and pulled the trigger. A bullet smashed a window on the second floor, just steps from the first family’s formal living room. Another lodged in a window frame, and more pinged off the roof, sending bits of wood and concrete to the ground. At least seven bullets struck the upstairs residence of

The Obama administration appears to be losing ground in its efforts to cut U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases, according to new government figures that show pollution levels rising again after several years of gradual decline. Data released Friday by the Energy Department show American factories and power plants putting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere during the first six months of 2014 compared with the same period in each of the past two years. The figures confirm a reversal first seen in 2013, when the trend of steadily falling emissions abruptly halted. The higher emissions are primarily a reflection of

Does anyone imagine that without the broadcast beheadings we’d be doing anything more than pinprick strikes within Iraq? If Obama can remain steady through future fluctuations in public opinion, his strategy might succeed. But success will not be what he’s articulating publicly. The strategy will not destroy the Islamic State. It’s more containment-plus: Expel the Islamic State from Iraq, contain it in Syria. Because you can’t win from the air. In Iraq, we

The new rules would ban profiling based on religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation and includes no exemption for national security investigations, the Los Angeles Times reports. The announcement of the new policy to crack down on law enforcement profiling was delayed for several months because of White House
