Foley beheading video shocks
the world, Obama says

BBC News [UK], by Staff

US President Barack Obama has said the beheading of US journalist James Foley is "an act of violence that shocks the conscience of the entire world". Mr Obama said the ideology of Islamic State (IS), the group which made a video of Mr Foley´s killing, was "bankrupt" and would ultimately fail. The group said Mr Foley´s killing was revenge for US air strikes on its fighters in Iraq. The US, the UN and other nations have expressed abhorrence at the video. Mr Foley´s mother Diane said he "gave his life trying to expose the world to the suffering of the Syrian people". The killer

Comments:
Obama; "an act of violence that shocks the conscience of the entire world." No, it wasn´t, and it didn´t shock the entire world. A mere "act of violence," could mean as little as a stranger slapping your face. Cameron´s version was more apt: "shocking and depraved." It might shock Cameron but he´s intelligent enough to know half the world doesn´t have a conscience and doesn´t see it as shocking. Hell, slice and dice is a regular part of Muslim culture.

No, nothing that a fanatical member of a radical Islamic sect shocks me, nor should it shock any informed individual. This group has been on a killing spreed for weeks and most victims are innocent civilians, not military.
Has no one been reading the news reports of their atrocities ? These people are slaughtering anyone in their path.

Where the heck has Obama been? Did he not know about the beheading of Daniel Pearl, Nick Berg, the countless innocent Christians? The world is not shocked anymore! The world (civilized world) is angry! This is what followers of Mohammed (pieces be made out of them)do. Mohammed Obama is still under the delusion that Muslims don´t do things like this if they are true followers of Islam. The exact opposite is true. ISIS members are following Islam to the letter. Muslims who fly airplanes into buildings and kill thousands of "infidels" are doing what Mohammed told them to do. Until the rest of the world acknowledges why this is happening, nothing will change. Here´s is a hint Obama, it is not because we haven´t our slight of Islam and apologized enough for our past sins against Islam. You already tried that with your apology tour and it did not work.

Former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke has revealed that he recently tried to remortgage his house, but was turned down. Mr Bernanke, who was paid almost $200,000 a year leading the US central bank before stepping down in January, also suggested that banks are tightening lending too much following tough regulation that was brought in following the financial crisis. Speaking at a conference in Chicago on Thursday, Mr Bernanke told Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics: "Just between the two of us, I recently tried to refinance my mortgage and I was unsuccessful in doing so.” When the audience laughed, he

The UK has called for urgent decisive action from the international community to deal with the growing Ebola epidemic in West Africa. Speaking at a conference in London co-hosted with Sierra Leone, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond called for more financial aid, doctors and nurses. British nurse William Pooley, who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone, made an emotional appeal for more action. Leading charity Save the Children earlier warned that Ebola was spreading at a "terrifying rate", with the number of new recorded cases doubling every few weeks. It said that a rate of five new Ebola cases an hour

While it may reject Israel’s existence, Hamas certainly agrees with Prime MInister Binyamin Netanyahu--and disagrees with the US State Department--that its “ultimate goal” is to establish an “Islamic state” (caliphate) over what it sees as the “occupied lands of Palestine.” In short, while the US disputes PM Netanyahu’s statement that “Hamas is ISIS, and ISIS is Hamas”--Hamas itself does not. China Weekly reported that, on Tuesday, senior Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar said in a ceremony to honor police officers killed in the latest Gaza operation that "we don´t want to establish an Islamic emirate in Gaza; we want an Islamic state in

It appears an act of compassion led Thomas Eric Duncan to contract Ebola, and become the first patient diagnosed with the deadly disease on U.S. soil. Just four days before he boarded a plane bound for Dallas, Texas, Duncan helped carry his landlord´s convulsing pregnant daughter to a Liberian clinic to be treated for Ebola, the New York Times reports. The woman, named by The Times as 19-year-old Marthalene Williams died the next day, after being turned away from the overcrowded hospital that didn´t have room for her. What do you suppose is the biggest item in the budget of a working household? The mortgage? The car? The utility bills? Nope. Far greater than any of these--greater, indeed, than all of them combined--is the tax bill. Because taxation is generally deducted at source, we often fail to realise how much we’re paying. For most people, the only time when they must, so to speak, write a cheque to the taxman is when they pay council tax--which duly elicits disproportionate resentment. Consider the figures above. They make a nonsense of Labour’s “cost of living” campaign, because the party plans to

President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus

HOUSTON, Texas -- Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was found not guilty today by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. This is the highest appellate court in Texas for criminal cases and thus brings DeLay’s political persecution to an end. The court upheld the ruling last year from the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals.
