McConnell’s plan to
shut down Obama

Politico, by Manu Raju

Original Article

HENDERSON, Ky. — Mitch McConnell has a game plan to confront President Barack Obama with a stark choice next year: Accept bills reining in the administration’s policies or veto them and risk a government shutdown. In an extensive interview here, the typically reserved McConnell laid out his clearest thinking yet of how he would lead the Senate if Republicans gain control of the chamber. The emerging strategy: Attach riders to spending bills that would limit Obama policies on everything from the environment to health care, consider using an arcane budget tactic to circumvent Democratic filibusters and force the president to “move

Comments:
Whether or not McConnell does this remains to be seen. However, not mentioned in the article is any attempt to "shut down Obama" will be ineffective because he does exactly what he wants no matter what and will shutdown the government and again blame Republicans. Of course the media will support him.

I wish that we could inject some of Rick Perry´s guts into these other Republicans. We might then have a chance to prevail.

But "next year"? With Obie, that could be too late. Why not now?

It does no good to kvetch and call McConnell names.

Go to his online website and write to him. Tell him to man up and get busy now.

Do the same with Boehner.

As long as it is the Republicans versus the Demonon-RATS and the Main Stream Media, shutting down the government will ALWAYS be blamed on the Republicans. Period.

To think this time will be any different is the very definition of insanity.

But it is nice to see McConnell grow a pair for a change.

Actually a Rebublican controlled legislature (both House and Senate) can do a lot to shut down Obambi. They can shut downy the goobernment (based on lack of budget, etc.), they can deny Obambi´s nominations, they can investigate the daylights out of Obambi´s minions and they can limit the damage he is doing via lack of immigration policies. In other words, they can tell Obambi ´NO´ for the first time in Obambi´s life and watch he throw unsightly temper tantrums.

True enough, #7 - this is an attempt to induce conservatives to go to the polls in November.

Now, will McConnell follow through on his pledge if he´s re-elected? There is a lot of history to suggest that he may not. But with a ´Rat opposition that has all but embraced Absolut Statism and tossed the rule of law out the window, I´d say it´s up to everyone in Kentucky and every other state to turn out for every Republican candidate.

I find the article somewhat amusing. Almost every modern president had to deal with opposition party legislation and deals had to be made to get things done. That´s politics. The article talks about offering BO a "stark choice" like that´s a BIG deal. This kind of arm twisting is SOP in the government most of the time. BO is so frozen in his ideology that he refuses to consider 100´s of bills from the House. Of course, he gets Harry Reid to block them in the Senate so BO won´t look bad vetoing everything that crosses his desk.

It´s pretty surprising that BO & Reid are so willing to let the government effectively stall but when you consider that they already have a liberal agenda in place and that BO is very willing to operate outside the law, maybe shutting down Congress is OK for them.

If the Republicans take the Senate, BO will have to deal with the opposition directly. What will he do? His previous record is unyielding petulance which he gets away with because of his media lapdogs. But the media has become restive of late. Chaos in the world and failure of the economy to recover cannot be ignored any longer. The courts are finally starting to invalidate BO´s actions. Is BO going to veto 100s of bills? I wouldn´t put it past him but it would destroy the dem party. He would be exposed as the demagogue that he really is.

Maybe some of the dems will have the sanity to help override some of his vetoes. How would the boy-king respond to that??? I´ll bet it will not be pretty.

In a closed primary, Mitch lost 45% of the Republican votes. So far he has made no moves to bring those good conservatives back to vote for Senator Chinless Wonder.

An American freelance cameraman working for NBC News in Liberia has tested positive for Ebola and will be flown back to the United States for treatment. The infected freelancer was hired Tuesday to be a second cameraman for NBC News Chief Medical Editor and Correspondent Dr. Nancy Snyderman. Snyderman is with three other NBC News employees on assignment in Monrovia, reporting on the Ebola outbreak. The freelancer came down with symptoms on Wednesday, feeling tired and achy. As part of a routine temperature check, he discovered he was running a slight fever. He immediately quarantined himself and sought medical advice.

Health officials are refusing to answer growing questions about their response to the first Ebola case in the United States. Under intense questioning from reporters, officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Texas health department and the City of Dallas repeatedly declined Thursday to provide details about the steps being taken to prevent an outbreak. Texas Health Commissioner David Lakey, who participated in one press call Thursday, would not identify or describe the four individuals who have been quarantined due to possible exposure to Ebola. President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus
