American journalist James Wright Foley, believed to have been abducted in Syria in 2012, became the subject of a harrowing propaganda video released Tuesday in which Islamic State jihadists beheaded him to "send a message" to the United States. In a public statement on Facebook, Foley´s mother, Diane Foley, honors her son and requests privacy for her family at this time. "We have never been prouder of our son Jim," writes Foley, noting, "he gave his life trying to expose the world to the suffering of the Syrian people." Foley calls for the Islamic State terrorists to show mercy upon

If I don´t watch it does that mean that I can pretend it didn´t happen? Oh G_d, the horror of these people.

Will Obama invite Mrs Foley to the WH, to be embraced warmly and publicly as the Bergdahls were in June? Or, does Obama reserve this treatment for those who dishonor the country like the deserter? Will Obama be able to deliver a brief comment today on James Foley without a TelePrompTer and repeated use of I and me?

James Wright Foley undertook an incredibly dangerous assignment in Syria, a country that is being ripped asunder by violence by and against its dictator, Assad. He was a war zone photojournalist, and tragically, horribly, he was the subject of the last photo taken of him.

I can´t watch this video...and can´t even read the story. I was awake all night too, after seeing the screen shot of him about to be murdered on Drudge. God rest his soul. This man´s blood is on Obama´s hands. They´ve had him since 2012, and this administration ignored the threat and let it grow into this horrible travesty. I am thoroughly disgusted by the lack of leadership in this administration. I knew it would be bad, back in 2008, but the extent has shaken me. I don´t know if we will ever recover from these years...sigh.

Americans shouldn´t be in these countries because it risks stuff like this. ISIS (or whoever) couldn´t be happier and America looks impotent. We don´t need Americans taking pictures to know the middle east is a disaster. Come home and do something useful for America rather than make yourself useful to evil in the middle east. My heart goes out to his family and I hope he is at peace.

#3, instead of watching the video go to the range and practice, practice, practice... Since libtards are inviting these enemies onto our soil, you might find yourself in a position to put paid to one of these savages in the future - so focus on your front sight and squeeze, don´t jerk, the trigger. It could come in real handy some day soon. Oh, and buy more ammo.

On the Marquette University website - they have an article written by Foley who was a Marquette grad:

Phone call home
A letter from James Foley, Arts ’96, to Marquette.

It says, in part:

I began to pray the rosary. It was what my mother and grandmother would have prayed. ?I said 10 Hail Marys between each Our Father. It took a long time, almost an hour to count 100 Hail Marys off on my knuckles. And it helped to keep my mind focused.

Clare and I prayed together out loud. It felt energizing to speak our weaknesses and hopes together, as if in a conversation with God, rather than silently and alone.

Here’s something that happens a lot on the Sunday news shows: politicians come on and opine on anything the host asks them; mostly hypotheticals in answer to questions like “What would your advice to President Obama be?” or “If you were president, what would you do?” Well, new Meet the Press host Chuck Todd made it clear in an interview yesterday that he doesn’t want to have elected officials on just so they can play the role of pundit. Todd opened up about what he wants to bring to the long-running show in an interview with The Huffington Post. He

President Obama claimed in an interview Saturday that he did not delay long-awaited executive action on immigration reform to protect Senate Democrats, saying that the border crisis made him recalculate when to unveil his blueprint. “That´s not the reason,” Obama told NBC’s “Meet the Press” when asked if he pushed back his timeline on immigration merely to appease Senate Democrats. “The truth of the matter is — is that the politics did shift midsummer because of that problem,” Obama added in excerpts of the interview released late Saturday. “I want to spend some time, even as we´re getting all our

President Obama´s decision to delay any executive action regarding the millions of undocumented immigrants in the country until after the election represents both a bow to political reality and a yet another reminder for the beleaguered president of the dangers of setting self-imposed deadlines. This is a political crisis -- as it relates to the timing of a decision -- that is entirely Obama´s own creation. Back on June 30 in a statement delivered in the Rose Garden at the White House, he uttered these words: I have also directed Secretary Johnson and Attorney General Holder to identify additional actions

Republicans lashed out at President Obama’s decision to delay an immigration executive order until after midterm elections, saying the move is proof that what is coming will be drastic. “Once again, President Obama is playing political games to protect his liberal friends in November by using sleight of hand to temporarily hide his radical agenda from the American people,” House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) said. “The president needs to abandon his attempt to issue blanket amnesty by executive order, and instead focus on securing the border as the House already did.” “Border security is a critical national security issue,

Fusion anchor Jorge Ramos really went after President Obama today after news broke that he’d be delaying any executive action on immigration until after the midterms. White House officials partly attributed this to Republican election-year politics. But for Ramos, this also represents a political play on Obama’s part, as well as the second time the president will have broken a promise on immigration reform. (Tweets) Back in 2012, Ramos brought up that first broken promise about getting immigration reform done his first year as president.
