Michael Brown´s mother
calls for officer´s arrest

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Mario Trujillo

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 8/18/2014 1:52:34 PM

The mother of Michael Brown said Monday that justice would only be served when the Ferguson, Mo., police officer who killed her son is arrested. Lesley McSpadden told "Good Morning America" that "being fair" and arresting officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of her 18-year-old son would help calm the protests that have roiled the St. Louis suburb for the past week. "Arresting this man and making him accountable for his actions," she replied when asked what justice would look like to her. Her interview came hours after the family released an independent autopsy showing Brown was shot at least

Comments:
I feel sorry for her that she lost her son, but the media´s exploitation of her is sickening and outrageous. Arresting that officer would do absolutely nothing to stop this. I also feel terribly sorry for that officer and his family and how he is caught in this maelstrom of hate, violence and rage because he was just doing his job. Like Zimmerman, his life will never be the same.

Lady, while we know that your son was a thug (the video doesn´t lie), we don´t know if the shooting of your son was justifiable or not. That takes investigation, which given the inclusion of the federal government, will be very thorough.

Holder will do everything in his power to assure the cop is crucified if there is even any chance he was not justified in shooting your thug son. So please be patient.

Only once that investigation is completed can they determine if the officer should be arrested for manslaughter or given a medal for taking a violent thug off the streets.

However, the last I checked, the cop is innocent until proven guilty to civilized normal people under our Constitution. Sadly, the world you come from has proven without question that they are not civilized (or they wouldn´t use this shooting as an excuse for violence and destruction).

Persons are not arrested to be "fair".

So far there is no evidence that Officer Wilson did anything other than his duty as an officer of the law.

Re #2, Brown only visited his grandma occasionally.

He was bunking with pals. Peers. Smoking marijuana ("everybody does it"). The same people who believe that taking things without paying for them is no big deal.

He needed parenting. The grandmother´s occasional influence was not enough - and as I recall reading, he was living away from her, away from Ferguson. He just visited her from time to time. He was probably with her when this incident occurred, as he did not live with dad (who showed up for only an initial photo op) nor with mom and her shackup boyfriend. He was on his own.

Re #3, the small cigars stolen (some kind of "sweets") are used for smoking marijuana. They are called "blunts". The tobacco is removed and the casing is stuffed with marijuana. The "sweet" odor masks the marijuana odor.

Trayvon actually went to 7-11 to buy these. Because he was underage he was refused and had to give money to some other older boys outside and they bought a few for him. That was caught on video.

Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory.
