Reading headlines this week, one after another bowled me over (snip)But this one really grabbed me. “Professors Now Say SLAVERY Forced Colleague To Batter Teen, Destroy Her Anti-Abortion Poster” (here) Here’s the back story as CNS reports: Mireille Miller-Young, an assistant professor in the University of California/Santa Barbara’s Feminist Studies Department, pled “no contest” last Thursday to misdemeanor charges of theft, battery, and vandalism resulting from her March altercation with pro-life demonstrators on campus. She will be sentenced on August 14. The altercation arose when Miller-Young grabbed a sign with photos of aborted babies from a group of pro-life activists led by 21-year-old Joan

Prof. Boris seeks clemency for her colleague, stating, “she was at the stage of a pregnancy when one is not fully one’s self fully, so the image of a severed fetus appeared threatening.”

The way Prof. Boris states that ... it leads "one" to believe that it applies to all women at that stage of pregnancy - one is not fully one’s self fully.

Is that settled science? If so - perhaps there should be some psychological / psychiatric counseling before a woman at that stage makes any decisions regarding abortion.

The implication from one of the professors who wrote a supporting letter for Mireille Miller-Young is that her hormones got the better of her. Hmmm. Professor, should we conclude that are women too emotional to hold political office or positions of authority because of their uncontrollable hormones?
Can´t have it both ways.

Feeling justified in committing aggression, is a feature of narcissistic personality disorder. Narcissists never actually mature beyond the early teenage years. If you do not share their worldview, they think they can force you into it.

The irrational excuses given by her supporters, demonstrate an inability to accept reality. Since education provides a captive audience, it draws NPD´s like a magnet. So does politics. Our President and First Lady are prime examples. So is Romney.

Senator Elbert Guillory of the Louisiana State Senate is known as a maverick, a black Republican in a state where the Democratic Party is sustained by solid support by the African-American population. But that doesn’t stop him from tyelling the hard truths he believes African-Americans must face. Watch the 2 minute and 20 second ad below, and think about how this might resonate if it were widely seen. Perhaps a sixty-second version can be produced for use on television. The polling on the race between Republican Bill Cassidy and Landrieu is fairly tight. The Real Clear Politics average of polls has Cassidy

Government beneficence is mostly a myth based on the following assumptions: It is necessary. It is good. It makes outcomes better than they otherwise would be. Point number one, the necessity of government, is true up to a point. (snip) The second two conditions, at least given what our government does today, are increasingly disputed by those who look at government objectively. If these latter two become widely accepted as untrue, then the role of government will be reduced dramatically. Government will do anything it can to prevent its reduction. Has Henry Waxman joined the much-touted “war on women”? Sandra Fluke is the symbol of that war, establishing the principle that not giving her whatever she wants for her personal life amounts to a war on women. Evidently, this was not received with enthusiasm, so a day later she set her sights a bit lower: After considering a run for a Congressional seat in California, women´s rights activist

President Obama’s 60 Minutes interview, taped last Friday and aired Sunday, is turning out to be a disaster for him, and may even be a tipping point of sorts. There are six dimensions to the disaster. 1. By blaming the intelligence community for his failure to act on the ISIS threat, he ensured that a series of damaging leaks will be coming, and they are already starting. (snip) 5. National security is a gut-level issue, and Obama is forming an image of someone unable to muster the level of concern or leadership necessary to protect us. The startling images of

ISIS may have called on Muslims the world over to attack Americans (and the “filthy French”), but when two Muslims in Oklahoma act on that call using beheading (or the threat thereof) as their method, The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City’s daily newspaper, calls it a “bizarre coincidence.” Nolan Clay writes: In a bizarre coincidence, a fired Oklahoma City nursing home employee was arrested Friday after a co-worker reported he threatened to cut her head off. The recent student demonstrations in Colorado against curriculum changes that present a more positive view of America don’t bother me at all. Dollars to donuts they were organized by the teachers. President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus
