In Powerful Speech, Capt. Johnson
Apologizes to Brown Family,
Promises to Stand by Ferguson

Mediaite, by Evan McMurry

In a confident and impassioned speech, Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson spoke of the need for communication, understanding, and faith at Sunday’s Rally for Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO. Johnson began by apologizing to Brown’s family. “I wear this uniform, and I should stand up here and say that I’m sorry,” Johnson said to a long round of applause. “I’ll tell you right now, I came in today and saw people cheering and people clapping; this is what the media needs to put on TV.” Johnson replaced Ferguson Police Chief Jon Belmar after several days of over-militarized police

An air strike might bring some people to their senses. Do not bumrush an officer of the law.

Pathetic.

Leftists never miss an opportunity to shove it in our faces. And it´s not a "black thing" either. About 1/3 of my nearest neighbors are black - - and they´re among the nicest people I know.

No - - it´s not blacks - - it´s leftists - - and I DESPISE all of them!

Everybody, including Capt. Johnson, the Brown family, every person in Ferguson, Governor Nixon, Eric Holder, everybody in America knows two things:
1. What really happened is that Michael Brown, having just robbed a store attacked a police officer and got killed in a life or death struggle.
2. That we are required to pretend that something else happened that fits the innocent black boy murdered by a racist white cop fantasy as proof of the pervasive white racism narrative we are all required to believe and confess.

We know Mr. Brown was a thug. The tape didn´t lie.

We know Mr. Brown had a skirmish with a police officer, and ended up dead.

We don´t know if it was a justified shooting or not. So no member of law enforcement should be apologizing to the family of a thug who may very well have attacked a police officer and deserved to die.

Civilized people wait to react after they have the facts. But the people rioting and looting in Ferguson are not civilized. They look for excuses for violence and destruction.

#2 beat me to it. I´ve got better things to do than watch race-baiting on cable news but I was shocked to read this farce is in its eighth day.

For anyone who has had to sit through a 4th Amendment-mocking checkpoint or received a ticket for going a trifling amount over the limit, it is doubly appalling to watch police of any force or rank beg, plead, apologize, and generally supplicate themselves before a lawless rabble.

Anyone familiar with ´Huck Finn´ should recall the Judge´s conclusion about the only means of reforming Huck´s father.

Whites had been fleeing Ferguson before this. Now, that´s going to be a flood. There´s opportunity for enterprising politicians of the right race to rise to the top. This Highway Patrol captain could parley this mess into a Chief of Police in some desperate city, or, as mentioned above, he could run for office. But it probably won´t work unless he can cool things out. Meantime, he´s thrown the officer involved under the bus.

The Islamic State has released a video claiming to show the beheading of British captive David Haines. The father-of-two, an aid worker, was abducted by militants in Syria last year. He appeared at the end of a video showing the beheading of US journalist Steven Sotloff earlier this month. In the video, which has been posted on sites such as YouTube, the extremists also threaten to execute another Briton. Islamic State (IS) extremists had threatened to kill Mr Haines and have not responded to any of the family´s attempts to make contact so far, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said.

Washington - Were it any other US president in recent memory, delivering a rousing White House address promising to "vanquish" the bloodthirsty militants of the Islamic State from the face of the earth would be dismissed as the "easy part". As Islamic State fighters from Syria blitzed across northern Iraq this summer, they swept thousands of fresh recruits from Iraqi Sunni tribal militias, prisons and insurgent groups into their ranks, nearly tripling the size of their armed force and catching U.S. authorities by surprise, U.S. intelligence officials said Friday. Dismantling the lethal new alliances in Iraq will be a key focus as the Obama administration scrambles to push back the fast-growing extremist army, which has achieved major military gains, shows sophisticated command and control, and is exceedingly well-funded, the intelligence officials said. America has a doomsday plane. Actually it has four of them. But the US government does not — repeat, DOES NOT — talk openly about its doomsday planes. Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research.
