Police tell Detroiters to buy guns
in city riven by race issues and crime

Guardian [UK], by Rose Hackman

Detroit police chief James Craig – nicknamed “Hollywood” for his years spent in the LAPD and his seeming love of being in front of the camera – has repeatedly called on “good” and “law-abiding” Detroiters to arm themselves against criminals in the city. His words have not fallen on deaf ears. (Snip) Besides having the worst homicide rate among large American cities, Detroit experienced 12,935 burglaries last year. With around 250,000 households, that means Detroiters have roughly a 1 in 20 chance of being burgled. To residents who have been victims of crime, being allowed to carry a weapon, whether openly or concealed,

Comments:
The people in the picture all white. I guess the "other" law abiding citizens already have their´s.

This is as bad as in Florida in the 80s when Dade County police told the residence to arm themselves due to the drug cowboys! Without the protection of the Second Amendment these people and all the rest of us would be absolutely helpless! Which is exactly what the Democrats want by the way!

It´ll be interesting to see if the crime rate goes down a bit. None of the gun snatchers will believe it, even though it happens again and again.

My gun safe is packed with shotguns, rifles and handguns. Yes, I am a collector. My home safeness weapon is a youth model Remington 870 in 20 gauge with an extended magazine tube.

When the jack-booted thugs show up at my door, they will face a loaded AR and a S&W 500 Magnum. Who will be first?

Brain dead libtards demand you give up your guns on the premise that cops will protect you. Well, the cops are on record now that they can´t protect you and for you to buy your own gun. Good advice actually.

Seoul - An American recently sentenced to six years hard labor by a North Korean court pretended to have secret U.S. information and was deliberately arrested in a bid to become famous and meet U.S. missionary Kenneth Bae in a North Korean prison, state media said on Saturday. Istanbul - Tens of thousands of Syrian Kurds have crossed into Turkey over the past day, fleeing an advance by Islamic State fighters who have seized dozens of villages close to the border, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said on Saturday. Turkey opened a stretch of the frontier on Friday after Kurdish civilians fled their homes, fearing an imminent attack on the border town of Ayn al-Arab, known as Kobani in Kurdish. It’s always tricky to report on high-profile federal investigations that are in progress. But that’s no excuse for “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams, who delivered a report last night about the “Bridgegate” probe involving New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R). Williams said that “federal charges are now ruled out” for the embattled governor, who is regarded as a serious contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. As reported in the Asbury Park Press today, however, NBC News has backtracked on this information. “An unscripted line of our Nightly News report was imprecise and implied that a final decision

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wants Democratic candidates to win, but it may be more important that Republican candidates lose. That may explain why Democrats in two key races with implications for Senate control have dropped their bids, strengthening the odds for third-party candidates while creating tougher contests for Republicans. The Kansas Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Democratic Senate nominee Chad Taylor may remove his name from the Nov. 4 ballot, leaving independent candidate Greg Orman as the only strong challenger to Republican Sen. Pat Roberts.

Is national security becoming 2014’s October surprise? Top races in this year’s elections had been relatively silent on the war on terrorism and national security issues, but recent polls and new television ads by the House GOP’s campaign operation suggest that the rise of the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, could be a late-breaking issue motivating voters to head to the polls in November. The National Republican Congressional Committee hit the airwaves in the past week with a trio of ads targeting Democrats on national security. The campaign spots hit Reps. (Editor´s note: Three words -- Joseph. Robinette. Biden.) Based on interviews with DNC staffers -- both former and current -- the piece described Wasserman Schultz as something of a modern-day Tracy Flick: over-eager, disloyal and not shy about promoting her ambitions. It would be fair to say that she sounds like, well, a lot like other politicians. And this would be accurate. But what was the logic of propagating to the world videos of its beheadings of two Americans (and subsequently a Briton) — sure to inflame public opinion? There are two possible explanations. One is that these terrorists are more depraved and less savvy than we think. They so glory in blood that they could not resist making an international spectacle of their savagery — after all, they proudly broadcast their massacre of Shiite prisoners — and did not quite fathom how such a
