Florida homeowners, child
survive shootout with intruder

Jacksonville, FL - A Jacksonville man and woman are in stable condition after a shootout with an intruder that broke into their home Friday morning. Police say the suspect, 21-year-old Trevel Yates, was killed during the assault. The pair had just woken up when they heard a loud noise of someone breaking in the back door, Sgt. Michael Paul reported. The 50-year-old man fought with Yates and was hit several times with a blunt object. The man retrieved a firearm and exchanged gunfire with the suspect. The 60-year-old woman also got a gun and shot at the suspect. A child in the home was unharmed.

Comments:
It´s always good to start the day with a story where the perp was the DEAD victim, instead of the homeowner who "stood their ground."

I wonder if they will bring the homeowners up on charges of using excessive force. After all how dare they protect themselves and we do need an investigation.

#4 not if this was another black on black crime. Unfortunately, the AssPress does not know much about journalism.

To jog their memories:
Who is it about?
What happened?
When did it take place?
Where did it take place?
Why did it happen?

And maybe a How did it happen.

Why did not the professional, state-of-the-reporting-art Associated Press inform its readers that the intruder’s full name is Marquise Trevel Yates?

How could the AP reporter not have known it?

A Gannett newspaper in Florida — First Coast News — did not suppress that fact.

http://www.firstcoastnews.com/story/news/local/2014/08/15/home-invasion-arlington-deadly/14101751/

Marquise is 21 years old. Just a ‘child’. Next will AP report that purposefully divisive “President” Obama lamented, “If I had a son, he’d look like Trevel”?

About the Gannett Company . . . it was founded by a conservative and:

On March 24, 2012, the company announced that it would discipline 25 employees in Wisconsin who had signed the petition to recall Governor Scott Walker, stating that this open public participation in a political process was a violation of the company´s code of journalistic ethics and that their primary responsibility as journalists was to maintain credibility and public trust in themselves and the organization.[20]

The way AP and her anti-gun / anti-right propaganda have distorted stories to manipulate public perceptions in situations like this, I half expect each tragedy like this to get the full Trayvon Twist in MSM reports on it.

In this case I´m sure the poor boy was just delivering a goodwill bag of Skittles to his racist neighbors, who had waited up all night to catch him in a crossfire-ambush setup they´d recently learned at a workshop co-sponsored by the TEA Party and the KKK...

Reuters correspondent Arshad Mohammed caught State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki in a trap with a pointed line of questioning regarding the Obama administration’s knowledge of and response to the rise of ISIL. “Is the basic point you’re trying to make that you–that the administration fully grasped the threat posed by ISIL and took aggressive and effective action to confront that threat from the beginning of the year?” Mohammed asked. “Is that what you’re trying to argue?” “Yes,” Psaki said. “If that’s the case, if your actions were so effective and so aggressive, how is it that since the beginning of the year

Who’ll be the next attorney general? Washington’s favorite parlor game is filling Cabinet vacancies; I like playing as much as the next pundit. (Keep reading!) Still, the more telling question is: Why are we playing this game at all? Why wasn’t the White House, which knew for months that Eric H. Holder Jr. was itching to leave, ready to roll with a successor? More important, given Holder’s foot inching toward the door, why did it not time this departure more intelligently — rather than having it arrive just before an election and the prospect of Democrats losing control of the Senate?

Cover Oregon was supposed to be a shining example of ObamaCare at its best. The state insurance exchange for the state of Oregon received $300 million in federal grants to launch a state-of-the-art website. But it never worked, and not a single Oregonian was able to sign up for health care from start to finish. So now, Oregon is in the process of pulling the plug on the site and switching over to the federal exchange and HealthCare.gov -- but the question is, how quickly they can do it. “We need to move forward and do the best thing for the people of Oregon,” Republican State Sen. Tim Knopp said, “and I think that’s ending Cover Oregon as

President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus
