The Star Chamber Comes to Texas

The old saying goes that a grand jury could indict a ham sandwich. In reality, it’s worse. Forget innocuous sandwiches, with or without Russian dressing. In Texas, at least in Austin’s Travis County, you can indict the state’s governor, Rick Perry, for doing the job any intelligent citizen would want him to do — trying to get rid of an absolutely atrocious public official. That official was District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, a dimwitted and abusive drunk driver who ran that county’s — wait for it — “Public Integrity Unit.” Perry threatened to veto funding for said unit as long as

I have a delightful feeling that this atrocity is going to bite the dems in the behind.
Who can say that they wouldn´t fire (strip of funding) the drunk witch? I just wish we had Rs with the stones to take this and ram it down the dems throats--we are trying to clean up the filth but you dems want to protect and promote filth.

Yeah, this could help Perry in the long run because it shows he has the gravitas to do the job as president..He´s also helped himself with the NG on the border and recruiting businesses to Texas.

One has to ponder just who it is that finds Perry´s presumed candidacy for president to be such a threat.

Travis County is a swirling hell hole of liberal Democrats in the state of Texas. Where else in this state would you find all the leaches that try and suck the blood from a state then in the state capitol.

These are the same people that are trying to stop gun shows that have been a part of that county since gun shows started.

Pity Barack Obama. Our hapless chief executive must be suffering from a cognitive disorder the size of Alpha Centauri. The poor guy grew up on the anti-imperialist mouthings of lefty poet Frank Marshall Davis, schoolboy revolutionary Bill Ayers and later anti-Israel professor Rashid Khalidi, not to mention the well-known anti-American excrescences of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and now he has to go to war — as an imperialist — against the very Third World people he was told again and again we colonized and destroyed. His head must be about to explode. No wonder he insisted in his Wednesday night

There´s a lot of people I have run across in the throes of show prep pulling their hair out and wringing their hands trying to figure out why Obama doesn´t do anything, doesn´t really take action to deal with these really bad, evil people and the threats that they pose. I´m not gonna have time to complete this in-depth analysis before the next obscene profit time-out, but let me give you a heads-up. Let me give you the umbrella under which everything else falls.

The indictment of Gov. Rick Perry by a grand jury in Travis County, Texas, is part of a power struggle that originates with a serious crime, albeit not one committed by Gov. Perry. That crime, as everyone knows by now, is drunk driving, and it was committed by Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg. When Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, Democrat, was arrested and charged with drunk driving on April 12, 2013, her blood alcohol level measured .23. That is just shy of three times the legal limit in Texas, which is .08. According to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage

People reading the title of this article should be excused for doing a double-take. To most of us the United Nations has been — especially in the last few decades — a debating society dedicated to the promulgation of anti-Semitism. It seems all the organization does is pass resolutions condemning Israel, that is when they’re not launching investigations of the same country via their Human Rights Council, a latter-day branch of the Wehrmacht, led by posturing Third World bigots, that usually meets at beachfront resorts. Even UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has been a tiny bit perturbed of late by

Barack Obama deliberately set out to lose the war in Iraq, and he did. He defied the advice of his joint chiefs of staff to secure America’s formidable military presence and keep 20,000 troops in country, and left Iraq to its own devices and the tender mercies of Iran. In doing so, he betrayed every American and Iraqi who gave his life to create a free Iraq and keep it out of the clutches of the terrorists. Iraq is now a war zone dominated by the terrorist forces of the Islamic State, whose rise Obama’s policies fostered. Both his secretaries

When I was a kid, I mean a little kid, my favorite nurse in my father’s office — he was a doctor — was Mrs. Mindus. I’m not sure how old she was or even how she spelled her name — I was about six and the year was 1950 — but she was a sweet woman and very welcoming to me when I visited the radiology office. She used to bring me crayons and a coloring book and sometimes candy as if I were her own child. The only other things I remember about her were that she spoke

Impeachment is the constitutional remedy for public officials including presidents who break the law. For the remainder of Obama’s time in office, though, impeachment may as well have been written out of the Constitution. House Speaker John Boehner has been maneuvered into taking impeachment out of the U.S. system of governance by Obama’s scamming campaign tactics, along with a hyperpartisan media, today. Talk of impeachment was cooked up by a White House desperate for something to rally Democrats ahead of November’s elections, House Speaker John A. Boehner said Tuesday, flatly ruling out any action on the controversial suggestion. “We have

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace asked neurosurgeon and GOP novelty Ben Carson, who is very vocally teasing a presidential run, if his inexperience disqualified him from the office, especially given the results of Obama’s alleged inexperience. “After looking at Barack Obama and what’s happened with his lack of political experience over the last six years, wouldn’t putting Ben Carson in the Oval Office be akin to putting a politician in an operating room and having him perform one of your brain surgeries?” Wallace asked. Shockingly, Carson said no. “I think what is required for leadership is wisdom and the

President Obama said the shooting death of a black teen by a white police officer last month in Ferguson, Missouri, exposed the racial divide in the American justice system that “stains the heart of black children.” Speaking at the annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner in Washington on Saturday night, Mr. Obama said the death of Michael Brown “awakened our nation” to a reality that black citizens already understood. “In too many communities around the country, a gulf of mistrust exists between local residents and law enforcement,” Mr. Obama said. “Too many young men of color feel targeted by law

Washington - The parents of Michael Brown said Saturday in an interview with The Associated Press they were unmoved by the apology of the Ferguson, Missouri, police chief weeks after their unarmed 18-year-old son was killed by a police officer. Brown´s mother, Lesley McSpadden, called for Chief Tom Jackson to be fired, and his father, Michael Brown Sr., said rather than an apology, they would rather see Officer Darren Wilson arrested for the death of their son on Aug. 9. "An apology would be when Darren Wilson has handcuffs, processed and charged with murder," Brown Sr. said. The young man, who was black,

For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

The U.S. had expected the Iraqi army to do more against extremists, president says in acknowledgment of intelligence shortcomings. President Obama acknowledged that the U.S. underestimated the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, also called ISIL) and overestimated the ability of the Iraqi military to fend off the militant group in an interview that will air Sunday on 60 Minutes. The president was asked by 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft about comments from Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who has said the U.S. not only underestimated ISIS, it also overestimated the ability and will of the

The Justice Department is expected to ban profiling by federal law enforcement. Counter-terror investigators would be barred from undercover operations in mosques or other religious institutions unless there is reason to believe criminal activity is going on there, under a new policy expected within weeks. The new rules would ban profiling based on religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation and includes no exemption for national security investigations, the Los Angeles Times reports. The announcement of the new policy to crack down on law enforcement profiling was delayed for several months because of White House

A Canadian member of the loathed Islamic State claimed the group is plotting an attack on New York City — and will one day fly its flag over the White House. Days before Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi warned of terrorist plots on subways in New York City and Paris, a video emerged showing an ISIS shill named Farah Shirdon widening the scope of the threat. “God willing, we will make some attacks in New York soon,” he said in a video interview with Vice News last week. “A lot of brothers are mobilizing there right now.” He vowed that U.S.-based fighters are “mobilizing for a brilliant attack.”

Political pollsters have a tough job. They have to create formulas to determine if the person they are interviewing is likely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made. Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set. They are the people who always vote in elections — with some motivated by specific issues. In a wave election, the number of those motivated by specific issues escalates, changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory. The 2014 election is rapidly looking like something new
